Binding and not allowing shifts I installed this product on my 2008 Honda CBR1000RR per the instructions. While riding, I did notice there was no more play in the shifter. When I upshift, sometimes the Spindle Holder does not allow the shifter to return back to its original position. This is troublesome when you are in the middle of accelerating. But this only happens here and there. When I downshift, nearly every time, the Spindle Holder does not allow the shifter to return back to its original position. I use downshifting to assist with slowing/stopping. Each time this happens, I have to bump the shifter back into its original position so I can shift up or down. This is extremely bothersome. I have contacted Sato Racing and currently awaiting a solution. If the Shift Spindle Holder would have been trouble free, I would have rated everything High as the board. The issue with shifting is the only reason I have to rate this item lower. June 23, 2013
Cheap insurance to help prevent very costly repair A broken shift shaft requires splitting the cases to replace, preventing this is well worth $95. This also firmed up the slack in the shift linkage making shifts all the more crisp. March 25, 2013
