For the price the seat quality was not very good or a good fit
I ordered this for my Monster 796
When I first tried to fit the seat, I could not get it to lock in place. After a few attempts I took a look at the locking pin on the seat, it was mounted the wrong way round! It was held in place by a couple of allen key bolts so I was able to turn it round quickly.
But even after this, it was not as smooth locking as the original seat.
After fitting it, I did not like the look at all. There was a huge gap between the tank and the front edge of the seat. I could get a finger in there all the way round, just didn't look good at all.
Then at the rear of the seat, there was a huge gap on the left side above the tail light where I could get 2 fingers in.
The final deal breaker was that there was no way I could get my seat cowl on. The 2 holes would just not line up.
So for the money, there is no way I was keeping it. I sent the seat back to Revzilla.
I've now had my original seat customized and it is perfect.

This is my third Sargent seat! quality and comfort can't be beat. I made the mistake of getting another brand once and won't do that again.

Fits the butt well, could fit the bike better
Definite improvement in comfort and control over the stock seat on my Monster 796. I'm 6ft tall and went with the low version for a flatter angle. The seat is firm not hard, but the pressure is spread evenly and allows me to really keep my knees into the tank which was a struggle to do with the stock seat. Pillions have commented that it is a more comfortable seat for them as well.
My only real gripe is the way the seat fits the bike itself. There is a noticeable gap on the right hand side against the tank, enough to slip my finger in. The stock seat cowl will fit but it is really tight. The replacement seat comes with a new set of bolts to retain the cowl. For the price of the seat I'd expected the fit on the bike to be better.

The Monster Should Come From the Factory with This Seat!
After all the good things I heard about Sargent, I elected to purchase the low version of this seat for my 2013 Monster 1100 evo. I considered Corbin as well as having my stock seat re-worked, but finally decided to roll the bones on this model.
I thought about getting the standard version, but finally opted for the lower version since I'm 5'7". Although the seat is advertised to be a little lower than stock (approx 1/2" lower), I find it to feel about the same height as stock or so it seems...perhaps due to design differences. That's no issue for me since I was used to riding with the stock seat. Would I have prefered it to feel slightly lower? Yes, but it's not that big of a deal especially when you consider all you gain with this seat. Am I glad I didn't opt for the standard height version? Yep!
They say you get what you pay for in life and I find that axiom to be true as it pertains to this seat. First, you need to know that the degree of comfort is not compromised if you opt for the lower profile seat over the standard. I was told by the helpful rep at Revzilla that the seat pan design creates the lower profile, yet the padding stays the same. In any case, I noticed straight away due to the more level design that my privates are no longer smashed into the tank. Additionally, it simply provides the right amount of support in the right places so longer rides no longer make me squirm.
I purchased the seat with the red piping. It simply looks amazing on my bike. The only slight negative is the lack of a storage tube under the seat, but that's something I'm gladly willing to sacrifice for good looks and, more importantly, comfort.
If you're on the fence due to price, that's understandable. If, however, you can come up with the cash, jump in there confidently and make the purchase! I am very happy I made this investment in style and comfort. My butt loves me now!
