The Monster Should Come From the Factory with This Seat!
After all the good things I heard about Sargent, I elected to purchase the low version of this seat for my 2013 Monster 1100 evo. I considered Corbin as well as having my stock seat re-worked, but finally decided to roll the bones on this model.
I thought about getting the standard version, but finally opted for the lower version since I'm 5'7". Although the seat is advertised to be a little lower than stock (approx 1/2" lower), I find it to feel about the same height as stock or so it seems...perhaps due to design differences. That's no issue for me since I was used to riding with the stock seat. Would I have prefered it to feel slightly lower? Yes, but it's not that big of a deal especially when you consider all you gain with this seat. Am I glad I didn't opt for the standard height version? Yep!
They say you get what you pay for in life and I find that axiom to be true as it pertains to this seat. First, you need to know that the degree of comfort is not compromised if you opt for the lower profile seat over the standard. I was told by the helpful rep at Revzilla that the seat pan design creates the lower profile, yet the padding stays the same. In any case, I noticed straight away due to the more level design that my privates are no longer smashed into the tank. Additionally, it simply provides the right amount of support in the right places so longer rides no longer make me squirm.
I purchased the seat with the red piping. It simply looks amazing on my bike. The only slight negative is the lack of a storage tube under the seat, but that's something I'm gladly willing to sacrifice for good looks and, more importantly, comfort.
If you're on the fence due to price, that's understandable. If, however, you can come up with the cash, jump in there confidently and make the purchase! I am very happy I made this investment in style and comfort. My butt loves me now!

RevZilla:The Black Sargent seat will be all Blacked out, whereas the Red option will have a black seat with Red piping accents, as seen in the picture above. Neither seat height option takes anything away from the underseat storage, since both seat pans are identical. The only difference is the height of the foam you sit on.Apr 9, 2013
I do not have my stock seat to measure but the height feels the same to me . There are two seat height options when you purchase the Sargent seat: standard and low. I chose the standard and my feet have the same reach to the ground as my stock setup. I will say that the first few rides on the seat I felt higher and almost found it difficult to reach the ground however, after the seat broke in its all normal again. I have been enjoying the seat and do recommend it. if you find that the stock seat is high for you already, then consider the lower seat setup.
Nicholas M:The sargent seat height is tall than stock. The foam in the Sargent seat is closed foam so the seat does not sink down as much as the stock seat. Especially closer to the tank under the thighs. I also find that the angle of the Sargent seat is slightly flatter compared to the stock seat. I'm 6'4" 270 pounds and I find it very comfortable. Aaron D:I bought the Sargent Low seat for my M1100 EVO and it is slightly lower, however the seating position allows you to shift yourself back and it doesn't push you into the tank. Overall, it seems like a better seating position. I'm average height, 5'10".Aug 12, 2013
mark p:Yes, but I have the "low" version, so the standard seat may be the same height as stock. Most importantly this seat has a flat place to sit, unlike the junk crushing oem ramp that will not allow you to back off the tank a little. This is the only off the shelf seat that I could find to fix that problem, but I would get the standard height if I could, as the "low" sargent has very little padding. I'm actually sending mine off to a custom shop for perfection.Aug 16, 2013

The profile is much more flat, so you don't slide into the tank, or off the sides as easily. much better for longer rides but if I was riding really twisty roads, or on the track, I might put the stock seat on. The inch or two of added height also puts a little more pressure on the hands, due to being leaned over just a bit more. I only notice it in traffic, when resting on my hands. Aug 13, 2013
