Sargent World Sport Performance Seat BMW S1000RR / S1000R

Continuing in the tradition of meticulously designed seating options, Sargent is pleased to offer the Sargent World Sport Performance Seat.

Utilizing advanced digital modeling, computer design techniques, precise manufacturing processes and superior materials, each World Sport seat pan is precision-molded for superior fit and outfitted with high-quality hardware. Also featuring Sargent’s signature vacuum-formed PVC acrylic alloy seat pan, this super tough, lightweight material provides an exceptional high-performance seat foundation.

Gel-Free! Each Sargent World Performance seat offers superior comfort and suspension without the thermal retention and extra weight of gel. The Super Cell Atomic Foam suspension is a unique and proprietary blend of resilience, firmness, and vibration-absorption qualities. Most stock seats suffer from a crowned shape that centralizes pressure and creates discomfort. The level, wider and slightly cupped foam shape of the Sargent World Sport Seat distributes pressure evenly and eliminates hot spots for incredible long-distance comfort.

All Sport Performance Seat features marine-grade, UV-stabilized, color-coordinated upholstery - hand sewn specifically to maximize the qualities of the Super Cell Atomic Foam.

Features:

  • Widened PVC seat pan for more lateral support
  • CarbonFX vinyl
  • Super Cell Atomic Foam for improved riding comfort
  • Eliminates forward slope and provides a more neutral seating angle for the driver

A must upgrade for your S1000R
Important note - I put this seat on a S1000R not an S1000RR. the Sargent part number is the same for both bikes and the fit is exact.

After having put 700 miles on my S1000R I noticed that the stock seat was pretty uncomfortable on longer rides. It has a distinct slope forwards which continually pushed me against the tank. BMW has a comfort seat available, which retails for well over $300. in my opinion this is a better option. The seating position is flatter and so you don't get pushed forward, this makes for a more comfortable ride. The finish is great, and the tag in BMW racing colours is a nice touch.

Sargent seats are known for quality and comfort and this seat doesn't disappoint.

Better than stock, but not by a huge amount
This is my third Sargent seat - I put on on three other BMWs before this one (R1150R, K2100S, F800ST). On the other bikes the difference was huge. Maybe because it's much smaller, but the difference doesn't feel as great on this one. The install is a bit of the pain, but only because BMW made it tough. Once you get the screws lined up (they're really susceptible to cross-threading) it goes pretty smoothly. The seat itself is more plush than the board that ships with the bike, and is good for medium trips - say under 3h. Anything over that and I think you'd get some severe monkey butt. I actually bought moto underwear for longer trips, but have not had a chance to try them out yet. The durability rating is based on the usual quality of Sargent seats on my previous bikes. 4-5 years as a daily rider stored on the street in all weather conditions including rain and snow, and the seats always looked like they were just out of the box.

Rode 450 the first day and realized I made a great purchase
I was extremely reluctant to buy an aftermarket seat, not knowing if it would be more comfortable for my rearend. Wow, what an improvement!!! I just completed 750 miles in 2 days. Very pleased

This is my second Sargent seat. I have one on another bike. I've tried Corbin and others, and I'm done experimenting. Sargent makes the most comfortable, durable seats. And their customer service is head and shoulders above the rest. Easy decision on what seat to buy from now on.

I own a 2014 s1000r and rode the stock seat all last year.
I bought the Sargent seat this spring and find it much more
comfortable than stock, and it does not transfer as much heat as stock. Great commuter seat. Have not tried it at the track.

Awesome seat
This seat is everything I was hoping for when I bought it. Very comfortable yet it doesn't ruin the look of the bike. Longest ride I've gone on since purchasing this was 11 hours and my butt was still not hurting after that.

Waaaayyy more comfy
This makes a huge improvement in the overall man-machine interface. At 6'-3" with a 35" inseam, I'm folded up pretty well no the bike. This seat opens the knees up just a skosh - enough that I can feel the blood flow back into my knees and extend the riding session in comfort. Definitely holds you in place and prevents you from sliding into the tank when you don't want to while still allowing you to snuggle up against the tank when you're in the twisties. It's wider than stock so you're reach to the pavement will be further inhibited if you're already having issues while using the stock seat. BTW I'll keep the stock seat and use it for track days as it is just a tad easier to slide around on.

Far more comfortable than the stock seat
This is my second Sargent seat. The first one was fitted on a BMW K1200S and was in use for over four years prior to selling the bike. At the time, the seat was just as comfortable as the day I bought it and looked like it had just been installed. After spending a few hours on the factory saddle, I decided to once again swap out that seat for the Sargent seat. There is no need for a break-in period. You'll be able to notice the difference with the very first extended ride. Compared to a couple of other alternatives, the retail price is a good bang for the buck. If you're looking for greater comfort on longer rides, you can't go wrong with a Sargent seat.

Very comfy seat!
This seat is much wider than the stock seat, but not as soft. The stock seat always pushed me into the tank, and this caused plenty of discomfort on bumpy roads. The Sargent seat allows you to sit further back without pushing you forwards towards the tank. Buying the Sargent seat has made a huge difference in my daily commute.

Hi Revzilla,

I just purchased a BMW S1000RR and the seat is 10mm higher than my previous bike, I wondering if you have any custom seat that will reduce the seat height? Thank you.
A shopper on Jun 16, 2014
BEST ANSWER: The Sargent seat with the low option is pretty good. If you look at the specs for your bike and the seat height it is pretty accurate. I bought the low Sagent Seat for my 04 RT and it works wonders. I have a 30 inch inseam and I am able to flatfoot the bike. The seat has less cushion than the stock on and it locks into you position. You can move around but will end up forward and on the tank. Your bike has a different riding position though, so it should not be a problem. Overall, the Sargent seat with the low option should help you out.
Will this seat fit the 2014 BMW S1000R?
Jeff t on Apr 15, 2014
BEST ANSWER: According to Sargent's website, this is the same part number that fits the S1000R.
I assume answer is yes, but can you confirm the seat for the 2012-2014 s100rr will also fit a 2013 HP4? Thanks.
