Huge improvement over stock seat
The other review from aK1200nut is spot on. I agree with everything he says.
I didn't think a seat could make that much difference in riding comfort. But it does. I'm now ready for an Iron Butt ride.
I had the same fit problems as aK1200nut. It went on okay, but the fit around the tank was not very good. It looked bad. But I noticed that if you pinched in the lower part of the seat together, it would bend around the tank much better. I got this seat from Revzilla in the fall and left it all winter with a clamp I made to pinch the seat in at the right spot - after experimenting a little to find the best pinch location for a good tank fit. This spring I removed the clamp, put the seat on, and it's perfect - well, not perfect, but much better. At least as good as the stock seat.
Overall I'm very happy with this seat and expect it to last a long time.

Overall great product, but some reservations to be aware of!
First we'll start with Revzilla - as usual - great service no problems. Item arrived as scheduled in about a week (7 business days) from the date I ordered it. They also had the best price I could find from a "trusted" e-tailer. Just sayin'. One important note for Revzilla - the seat will fit both K1200GTs from 2003-2005 AND K1200RS's from 1998-2004. I confirmed this using the manufacturer part number at Revzilla with Sargent Seats USA.
2nd, the stats: I am 6'2", 185 lbs, and my inseam length is 34" My bike is a 2002 K1200RS, stock. I do NOT have either handlebar extenders or foot peg extenders on the bike.
3rd, the seat: Starting with fit...wasn't super impressed. In order to get the seat to properly lock into the latch, I had to swap my stock seat's latch bar with the cheap unit Sargent provides. This was a step in the right direction.
Next, I usually rode the stock seat in the upper position. When I put the Sargent in the upper position, which was a challenge to begin with due to an overly tight fit, I found the front of the seat DID NOT meet up with the gas tank. Very displeasing. Also the front of the seat 'flared out' too far from tank. I don't know if this was a problem with just my seat or if it's universal. I considered calling Sargent, and still might.
The seat has a nice look and fit ... at least what I would expect, when placed in the lower position. Which brings me to my next point.
I used to ride pretty much only with the stock seat in the upper position. With the Sargent, you actually sit higher and further back in both seat positions...in fact, in the upper setting, I'm way on top of the bike...if I had handlebar extenders and was riding lots of 'slab' this would be a fine setting. But I've found I actually prefer the lower setting with the Sargent. I have more leg clearance from the fairings than I did with the stock and am further back in the saddle.
The biggest 'high point' of the seat is comfort. It is so much better than my hardened stock seat, I can't even tell you! I haven't put on more than 100 miles since it's winter time...but I think it will still be comfortable even on some of my 300 mile days!
I've included a picture of the seat in the high position so you can see the poor fit I was mentioning. I fiddled and fiddled with it to try and improve this setting, to no avail. I will probably discuss this with Sargent and see if it's there design or did I get a funky seat. I will post an update if I learn anything new.
