5 star Seat Light years ahead of the stock DR plank seat ! Comfortable , looks great , super simple install and years of Sargent know how ! May 18, 2015
There are now words adequate to describe the improvement over the stock seat. I tried to convince myself that the stock seat on the DR650 was not that bad. I really gave it the benefit of the doubt. Until after a full day riding I was completely numb in places that should not be numb. After researching seats on every forum possible I ordered the Sargent seat that very evening. 2 days later I installed it with no issue what so ever and had a revelation. This is the most comfortable motorcycle seat I have had the pleasure of sitting on. I have about 300 miles on the seat now and look forward to many more. The only minor gripe I can come up with is the small ( less than 1/4 inch ) gap between the seat and the tank. Thats it. It is one of the more expensive seat options for the DR but I still rated bang for the buck as Good for the shear improvement over the stock torture device. January 5, 2015
Fantastic upgrade Muuuuch improved over stock saddle. I found the low height to be more comparable to the stock saddle height. I could be crazy but it really felt like the std height sat me up higher especially with feet to the ground. It looks much flatter than stock and doesnt physically look that comfortable, but i promise you. Its quite comfortable. Its wide in the bum but narrow enough in the thighs that it's not cumbersome when spending a lot of time on the pegs. I used to readjust every 10 mins or so after the first hour of riding. Now i readjust less than a handful of times for a whole day. Highly recommended if you're spending any decent time on the bike. October 28, 2014
Dr650 The best investment I've made on a motercycle is a Sargent seat. Easy to install Very nicely made highly recommend May 26, 2014
A DR650 Must have This is a very good seat. So far, I do believe this seat is worth the money. It looks great on the bike and doesn't look out of place on a DR650. The seat is like a big pan. Much wider than the stock seat and, not much, but slightly softer. You can ride on this all day. You're still going to be sore after a couple hours but it's *nothing* like the agony of the stock seat. Because of the width, it is a little harder to touch the ground, but not too bad. The only real "con" about this seat (and, honestly, it's not that bad) is the fitment. Following the installation instructions exactly, it fits a little loose at the front where it mates up with the tank compared to the original seat. It's not enough to cause any problems but there is a much larger visible gap between the tank and the seat. Another downside is that it's a little harder to move around on this seat compared to stock, but if you're like me and pretty much only riding it on the road, it won't make a difference. The only other qualm is that the seat gets scuffed by boots fairly easily. I would definitely buy this again. May 13, 2014
Very comfortable seat The seat is overall very comfortable, it is a quality made product and very durable. After around 2-3 hours your bum starts to feel it though.. however it is tolerable unlike the stock seat. This seat makes the DR a much more enjoyable bike to ride for longer distances and is highly recommended! April 28, 2014
Feels like sitting on air! I purchased this seat for my dr650 and all I can say is WOW!! The stock Suzuki seat is like sitting on a rock, within 20 minutes of riding you become uncomfortable and after 40 minutes the pain would be almost unbearable. I commute to work 30 minutes everyday and do some adventure rides on my bike and with this seat it feels as if I'm riding on a Harley. Also if you pack your girlfriend on your dr650se she will be happy sitting on this seat. The back of the seat is a whole lot wider than the stock and has much better cushion. My girlfriend wouldn't ride on my bike any more with the stock seat and now she is always asking to go cruise. I will never ride a dr650 without one!! Also my bike is a 2010 and the seat fit perfect even though the description doesn't mention compatibility for the 2010 model. December 28, 2013
Looks and feels promising.... Have only ridden about 40 miles since installing this seat, so I don't have a great deal of experience with it yet. But so far, it seems like it will be very comfortable on long trips, which was my goal getting this seat. It seems a bit firm, but may need to be broken in. It is much wider than the OEM seat, and fairly flat. Measures about 11.5in across at the widest point which is some distance from the tank. That area of the seat is almost as narrow as the original, so there is some option for standing up on off road riding. December 9, 2013

Ross A: The original DR seat has a world wide reputation for being diabolical .a lot of blogs reported favourably on the Sargent seat. Revzilla appear to have a good reputation and their sight is really good. Ross Austin Dec 12, 2013
Sean M: Because the stock seat is a sadistic torture device! Nov 9, 2013
John H: I bought this seat because (1) I don't like the OEM seat on my '12 DR650SE (2) No Tax on purchase (3) Free shipping. Oddly enough, I live in Florida and Sargent is in Jacksonville, but it is cheaper to buy from you (or another online retailer) than to buy from Sargent -- That said, I bought this seat from Revzilla for Quality, Service and Price. A shopper asked: Will the 2013 DR650 seat fit the 2014 DR650 ? Sep 5, 2014

Rhett V: I believe so, when I purchased mine for a 2010 it had only said up to 2009 models but it fit perfect. I think Sargent just hasn't updated the fitment guide. Sep 6, 2014

A shopper asked: Does this seat fit a 2013 dr650 with an ascerbis 6.6 gallon tank? Feb 25, 2015
Answer this · Send to friends Good question? Yes (0) No (0)
Greg J: Yes. I have used it on both an Acerbis 6.6, and the IMS 4.9. But so you know the Acerbis clip on the tank is wider than the notch on the front of the seat. You will need to grind it down to be a bit narrower. Not really a big deal. Hope that helps. By the way I really like the comfort and form of this seat. Feb 25, 2015

Bob D: Hi. Sorry, cannot answer from personal experience, but this seat did fit perfectly with a 20 litre Ascerbis tank. Feb 26, 2015

A shopper asked: how much difference between low seat and regular, in terms of seat height? I currently have a Suzuki Gel -low seat that is about right for my short legs. I am also concerned about off-road use; how much wider than Suzuki Stock? Sep 28, 2014
Answer this · Send to friends Good question? Yes (0) No (0)
DEREK M: I have the regular height seat and the height is comparable to the original seat. I imagine the Sargent low will be close to the Suzuki low. The width is not a problem. The seat is narrow close to the tank. I ride standing "GS" style and it is great, no bowed out legs. When you sit and move back a bit you hit the comfort zone. Sargent has transform my bike! It has gone from a 200 km a day bike to a ride I would head across the country on. I've put a lot of trick upgrades on my DR but seat is the best! Hope this helps.

Robert O: The seat is wider for your butt, but does not spread your legs out wider than the stock seat. It is about an inch lower than the stock Suzuki seat, it is also comfortable for riding hundreds of miles on the road, I have ridden 450 miles in a day, and works just as well as the stock seat off road. I am very happy with my low seat. Sep 28, 2014

Don M: I would say about 2' in seat height and about 1' either side for width much better than the stock one. Sep 28, 2014

A shopper asked: hey, i noticed you have the Suzuki Dr650se sargent seat listed with black welts, do you sell them without the welts as an option ? Aug 21, 2012
Answer this · Send to friends Good question? Yes (0) No (0)
monkeylogic: I don't mean to contradict the expert here, but this seat IS available from the mfg without the welts (or with custom color welts). However, you will pay MUCH more for that option than what RevZIlla is offering here. I HIGHLY recommend purchasing this product (or any other) from RevZilla for their great prices and fantastic return policy. Buy with confidence. Dec 13, 2012
Reply to monkeylogic Good answer? Yes (1) No (0)
RevZilla: All Sargent Seats have welts as they add strength to stitch holding the panels together and are an integral component that cannot be omitted. Aug 23, 2012
