not sure why I waited so long
I've been debating getting this seat for the better part of 2 years now and never could justify it - Then I took the plunge. The install is a little finicky but I think I almost got it perfect but as soon as I went for the first ride on it, my butt thanked me. The stock seat on the Hyper is HORRIBLE (think sitting on a park bench) and this seat really makes all the difference in the experience. It's comfortable for when you want comfort and when I want to really ride aggressively I can slide up closer to the tank and really toss the bike around.
A must have for HyperMotard Owners!

Quality Issues
I've been traveling for work so haven't been able to put more than 10 miles on the seat. To and from my shop for suspension work. I small tear has formed just behind the piping on the right hand side. The box was beat up when I got it so it may have been from shipping but I didn't notice it until I installed it on the bike. So either way I'm disappointed.

I love this seat
When I first sat on this seat it seemed stiff and uncomfortable and definitely made the bike feel a little taller but once I put my feet on the pegs the saddle conforms to your backside nicely and was great for a long ride. This seat also looks great on my Hypermotard!

Fits the description, but having some issues with fitting
Three main gripes, but otherwise it seems to be a good piece of aftermarket seat specific to the Hypermotard (too early to discover any other main issues):
a) Had great difficulty fitting the front slots into the existing bolts on the front side panels. The foam seems to be glued to the plastic backing even at the slot areas which doesn't permit the bolts to slide into the slots. Had to manually separate the foam from the backing.
b) It was also difficult to locate the existing mounting point with the new rear bolt that came with the Sargent seat.
c) This is the most frustrating part. After managing to install the seat with the difficulties faced above, "test" sat on the seat to feel the additional comfort and overall fit. (i) I had chosen the low seat, which I noticed a significant loss in cushioning at the butt area. The seating area conforms to the butt shape well, but felt hard beneath. (ii) Any shifting of the butt towards the rear of the rider's position on the seat would cause the seat pan to bend more, and in my case, the front slots would slide out of the bolts, ie not a secure fit anymore. Can anyone advise on how to resolve this issue? I hate to be adjusting with an Allen Key each time this happens.
The seat is also, IMHO, pricey for the issues faced above.
If I appear to be scathing in my review, I have no intention to except to provide an honest feedback arising from my frustrating during installation.

Best deal I could find on the Best seat for your bike!
Sargent already makes a fantastic seat but to have found it on here for 20% cheaper was a dream. I had to get it. If you've never ridden on one, you wont regret it! It looks amazing as well.

The "Low Seat Height" will be about one inch lower than the "Standard Seat Height". Also, the "Low Seat Height" will offer a more firm feeling seat since the inner foam has a slightly higher density than the "Standard Seat Height" version. The Black seat will be all black, while the red seat will only have the red welt/trim, which is shown in our product image.1 year ago
