Saddlemen Gel-Channel Track-CF Seat for Honda CBR600RR

The Gel Channel line of seats for sport bikes are designed specifically for the rider that needs a seat that can do everything—canyon carving, track days, or commuting. Features Saddlemen’s Gel Channel (GC) technology (patent pending) that incorporates a split piece of SaddleGel and a channel in the base foam to relieve seating pressure on the perineal area, increase blood flow, and keep the rider in the saddle longer. Saddlemen sport bike seats offer high quality, light weight construction and styling that’s second-to-none.

The “Track” style series has hard-line looks that can’t be matched by any seat on the market. These seats are covered in contrasting colors that make it obvious that it’s a custom, and are specially constructed using a variety of materials that specifically match each bike’s colors and textures. Each “Track” seat is slightly bucketed in the rear section to contour to the rider’s body for better control during aggressive riding.

The CF models combine the outstanding features of the standard Track seat with a high-tech carbon fiber-look cover, center channel strip, and rear seat cover.

Features:

  • Saddlemen’s revolutionary Gel Channel (GC) seats offer high quality, durable construction, and styling that are as unique as they are functional.
  • The GC-seat design combines an interior comprising of progressive density foam and SaddleGel with a specialized cover that provides Sportbike riders a new level of comfort and control.
  • Gel Channel (GC)  technology (patent pending) seats incorporate a split piece of SaddleGel and a channel in the base foam to relieve seating pressure on the perineal area, increase blood flow, and thus keep the rider in the saddle longer.
  • The SaddleHyde cover holds up to hard use while providing a superb balance comfort and grip
  • Plated steel brackets are part of the plastic or fiberglass seat pan foundation specially engineered so your Saddlemen seat matches or exceeds the original seat’s fit.
  • Designed and built in the U.S.A.

Great seat....
I commute everyday and the seat has done wonders. Very comfortable and has added to my aggressive weekend riding...lol. Overall, the product has a good finish and a great customized look. Others have commented on the seat just by looking at it.

huge upgrade over stock
The seat fits well and feels quality. Huge upgrade over stock on my 12 cbr600rr. The rear is just a cover and looks kinda cheap. I have a rear cowl cover so no idea if the rear seat cover holds up. I commute about 25miles highway each way and i feel the difference for sure. Great upgrade for anyone wanting more comfort.

Changed the way I look at long rides
I am 8 hours into a 4 day trip. The last thing I did before left was put my new seat on the bike. At first it felt weird, maybe slightly higher than stock but within 45 min it was obvious that this was far superior to stock for extended riding. The seat is great. I was getting leg cramps in the twisties (90 min of riding to get there) before my bottom ever became a problem. In fact my tail bone / butt felt fine as I pulled into the hotel a couple hours ago. This seat will prevent some quick shifting side to side and it took me about thirty minutes to get a process down and to anticipate the resistance of me sliding my bottom to hang off the bike but it is not that noticeable. I would not take this seat to the track but I will use it for everything else. The pattern and color matches the faux carbon fiber on my '15 cbr600rr perfectly so It looks like it belongs. I will probably not mess with the rear seat cover seems like a lot of work.

Great seat, Horrible Fit.
I bought this seat to replace my stock seat. I took it out of the box and it looked to be of high quality. The passenger leather cover, however, has a spandex stretch fabric sewn around the edges in order to attach it to the passenger seat. This makes no sense since you have to staple it onto the bottom of the passenger seat anyway. I ended up removing the sewn on spandex fabric from the passenger seat cover.

The main problem was that the aftermarket seat didn't fit right out of the box. The stock battery is too tall to allow the seat to be flush with the holes to secure it in place. You either need to have a aftermarket smaller battery or you have to grind the middle of the seat down so it will sit flush onto the bike. It was a pain to install, but I am happy with the outcome. Prepare to spend most of the day to make this seat fit.

BEST ANSWER: Have a 15 and it fits fine
How comfortable does the cover makebthe pillion seat?
A shopper on Oct 13, 2013
BEST ANSWER: If the customer is regarding to the passenger seat, the cover does not change the cushion or comfort of the seat. It is merely a thin cover. If they are talking about the actual operator seat, it is a thousand times more comfortable than the stock seat. I rode 3000 miles on it this summer through California and down the coast and it was a huge help.
