Saddlemen Gel-Channel Tech Seat Yamaha FZ-09 2014-2015
90% better than stock seat
I just received this seat last Friday. The seat is much more comfortable than the stock seat which I could only ride on for about 30-45 minutes before my rear got numb and I had to take a break. I broke this new seat in by going on a 100 mile ride through the mountains. Which included lots of curvy roads and tight corners. Overall, I am pretty dang happy with it. At no time did I feel the need to get off to take a break or that any posterior discomfort was becoming a distraction during the ride. Not to mention the next day my rear and lower back tended to be stiff after a aggressive ride on the stock FZ09 seat. .
The only real con I have found is what other reviewers have stated and that the neoprene like seat material is a little slippery. Wearing my textile riding pants and during deceleration I felt myself sliding towards the tank which created pressure on the areas this seat is supposed to alleviate.
In my opinion, I would this say this seat would be great for commuters and/or those that tend to do longer distance rides. That being said this seat is a huge improvement over the stock seat on comfort level alone and I am happy with the purchase.

Huge step up from oem!
Anyone who's ridden an FZ09 knows how thin the seat is. The new seat is much, much more comfortable. Easy install, just off with the old, and on with the new. My only gripe is the seat's not water proof but in Southern California that's not really an issue! Very happy with this purchase and Revzillas quick service!

Massive improvement over the stock seat
Every FZ-09 rider I have met has all said the same thing about the seat in that it's way to stiff and very uncomfortable after 30 minutes of riding on it. The saddlemen seat is a massive improvements to where I can go on 3 or more hours on this seat without any major discomfort.
Easy to install - Unlock the seat from below, pull off the old one and slide this in
Comfort - Very comfortable and great for long distance
The foam - If the bike gets rained on, it will soak up some water.
It's slippery - The material is rather slick, so certain pants material will make it a challenge to stay in place without sliding down towards the tank. That being said, its not that easy to move from side to side for aggressive leaning, so if you want a bike for a lot of aggressive maneuvering then go for the other style.
Overall, it's a great addition for my bike and really added a lot of enjoyment to it. If you don't like the stock seat, have a lot of issues after riding for a bit, then this is well worth the money.

Avoid, instead look for the Sport or Track seat
Installation a breeze, seat really comfortable.
My main gripe is that the main seat material is neoprene, and the raised bumps are regular foam. This has two consequences:
1) the bumps soak water, so be prepared to have your backside wet if you washed the bike and/or rained before you ride.
2)The neoprene in my seat has faded to a purplish-gray color, under regular exposure to sunlight. Bike is parked in a open air shed, and one side is lighter than the other (expected since one side gets more sun).
The seat looks like 10 years old when it basically around 8 months old. For $400, avoid and go to the other designs that seem to have better materials

NO MORE SPANKINGS FOR ME! Fz-09
Replaces the boomstick Yamaha Engineers presented Fz-09 owners with a lush, soft and ergonomic saddle. It raises the seat height about half an inch. (Think about all that padding) Clips on just like the stock saddle. This seat is well worth the investment.

Best addition to My FZ09 to date.
Anyone who has ridden a stock FZ 09 knows the factory seat is the worst. The Yamaha engineer's should be ashamed of putting such a terrible seat on an otherwise great bike. The Saddleman tech seat is super comfortable on short and long trips.

Seat for long miles
Just received my Gel-tech a few days ago.
Install is as simple as removing the factory seat and putting this one on.
I can tell even in a few short miles that this seat corrects my three main complaints with the factory seat. It removes the forward slope towards the tank. It has a more gentle rounded off edge on the sides, as opposed to the sharp angular factory sides. The factory sides would start to be bothersome after an hour on the bike, but the Saddlemen should reduce that discomfort by margins. Lastly it is much more comfortable to sit on even out of the box as opposed to the factory plank.
I highly recommend this to anyone looking to do high mile days on their FZ-09

I was getting very tired after just thirty miles with the factory seat but this Saddlemen seat keeps me comfy for lots more miles.
