Saddlemen Adventure Track Seat for DL650 04-11 / DL1000 02-12
What a change in comfort
Now I can ride my f800 gs without being tortured. This seat solves the problem with crushing the family jewels! Is is somewhat difficult to fit on the bike the first time, but improves with time.

This seat is a vast improvement over the stock seat. Much better in the long distance role and is stellar in the rough stuff. One good coat of scotch guard and the wet stuff is no problem. I say it is a good value, wish I had got it the day I bought the bike.

II bought this seat to have the option to switch out from my Russell for the dirt, still breaking it in (1500mi.) but I really like it! Great on the twisty's too ,you can really hang off. Good buy!

I got this seat because my tail bone was aching after long rides on my R1200GS. In that regard, it works well, relieving the pressure on my tailbone. But other than that, I'm not that happy with it. It's actually a fairly hard seat, and I have rode several thousand miles on it, hoping it would break in and soften up, but it really hasn't. When you combine the channel in the middle, with the fact that it is a bit more narrow than the stock seat, you end up sitting on what feels like two hard rails. This is definitely not a long distance, in the saddle, seat. Luckily I spend as much time as I can standing on the pegs, thus have learned to deal with its hardness. The stock seat is actually more cushioning, and being bigger, it disperses your weight out over a larger area. The suede covering also retains moisture a lot more than the stock seat. If it left out in the rain, getting it dry takes some time. If you're riding in the rain, it seems to draw in the rain and hold it there, like sitting on a damp sponge. It is well constructed, sturdy and fits well.

Saddleman low for R1200GS
This seat is a little wider than stock. Although sold as a "low" seat, because of the width, the reach is about the same as the stock seat on low position. It is definitely a lot more comfortable, though, and I am very satisfied with the purchase.

Very comfortable seat
Very comfortable seat, much better than stock, does not push the rider forward.
Not so good:
There are some wrinkles in the area where suede section is attached to vinyl - annoying defect in otherwise great looking seat. The fit on the motorcycle is not as good as the stock seat, probably will require some modifications to the front tongues.
Overall, would definitely recommend to any long distance rider, just tested it myself on 3000 km ride.

This is a substantial improvement over the stock seat. The design and construction are both excellent. I just returned from a 1200 mile trip on mixed roads that ranged from interstate, forest service roads, to back country gravel. The seat was comfortable in all conditions, especially considering the amount of vibration on the KLR. Absolutely happy with the seat.

Poor fitment...at first, but.....
Love the looks of this seat, once fixed. Read other reviews on the 'net, consensus was there is/was a poor fitment between front of seat/faux fuel tank junction. I took my chances, but had the same issue. I live maybe a 20 minute ride to Saddlemen's shop here in SoCal. Made a couple phone calls, and met with the folks at the shop. They were able to see first hand the problem. Saddlemen redid the seat cover, much better, but the gap is still visible, but much better than it was. Guys gave me a tour of the shop, and how they make their seats. Ride/feel is great, and I love the center channel of the seat on long rides, between fill-ups, have no sore back-side. Much better then OEM on the '13 F800GS.
