The Saddlemen Adventure Track Seat is a hybrid seat design that combines Saddlemen's exclusive elements of a GEL comfort layer and progressive density foam with a GEL-Channel design to provide Adventure and Dual Sport riders with unparalleled comfort and control. Rugged marine-grade synthetic suede resists the elements while providing the proper balance of grip and comfort under the rider's posterior.
The pillion section is covered with high-tech gripper material to help hold cargo in place and is shaped to match the rear rack's height for simplified cargo packing. Integrated bag or cargo mounting points on the pillion match Saddlemen Adventure PACK bags or use them to secure your own load.
Hybrid seat design combines SaddleGel interior, progressive density foam and a Gel Channel saddle to provide Adventure and Dual Sport riders with unparalleled comfort and control
Saddlemen’s Gel Channel (GC) technology (patent pending) seats incorporate a split piece of SaddleGel and a channel in the base foam to relieve seating pressure on the perineal area, increase blood flow, thus keeping the rider in the saddle longer
Gel Channel seats offer high quality, durable construction and styling that’s as unique as it is functional
The vinyl and rugged micro-fiber suede cover holds up to hard use while providing a superb blend of comfort and control (certain models feature a rugged gripper style cover)
Some seat applications, such as mid-sized Dual Sport motorcycles, have a standard foam design (no GC) with a gripper and vinyl cover better suited to rigorous riding
Integrated bag/cargo mounting points on the pillion portion of the Adventure-class seat sets make it easy to attach Saddlemen’s Adventure PACK luggage or other cargo
Most mid-sized Dual Sport applications also include a luggage/cargo mounting strap set that installs or removes in seconds from the seat
A solo rider-seat, rather than a full two-piece set, is available in some applications
Most seats are also available in low-profile designs
Note: Image is for reference only, actual seat may vary slightly.
Very comfortable seat
Very comfortable seat, much better than stock, does not push the rider forward.
Not so good:
There are some wrinkles in the area where suede section is attached to vinyl - annoying defect in otherwise great looking seat. The fit on the motorcycle is not as good as the stock seat, probably will require some modifications to the front tongues.
Overall, would definitely recommend to any long distance rider, just tested it myself on 3000 km ride.

This product looks good but.........
Seat was good quality and really looks good. but fitment was less that I expected for the price, advertised to fit a DL650 2004 to 2012 but on my DL650 2006 it did not fit the tank leaving a gap between the seat and tank and large gaps on sides of seat exposing the bike frame.so did not look good on bike,

Saddelman DL1000 seat
Revzilla: I purchased the Saddelman from you guys last month (March of 2013) for my 2012 V Srom DL1000. I had a seat redone by Saddelman for a BMW GS years age and the work/ customer service were great so I thought I'd give their new seat a try. So far I've done quite a few 200 to 300 mile days and while fermer feeling than the stock seat at first each ride it is getting more comfortable. It's breaking in nicely. I can't comment on the durability since it's only a month old but the finish and fit are great. Since 1964 I've had many types of seats on my various bikes and can definatily recommend the Saddelman. Ships incomplete, otherwise great saddle.
I was stunned to find that the seat was not complete -- I had to remove the "locking posts" from the stock seat so this would lock in place. I still haven't recovered from that.
I bought the seat to eliminate reduce monkey-butt during the humid summer months, given the air-flow through the central channel. I am still riding in winter-pants (wind-proof / water-proof), but the chill on my nethers suggests it will work correctly. It is cold enough that I might hook up the heater, which I figured wouldn't be necessary until next Autumn (it's mid-April as I type).
Others have mentioned that it's too hard -- I did not notice this at all. I am very pleased with the comfort, especially because one can shift forward a few centimeters and "engage the core" properly. If you sit upright and have an aggressive chiropractor, you'll understand what I mean. The memory foam on the pillion seat feels more comfortable to touch than the gel saddle, so I expect positive feedback from guests.
The microfiber on the pilot's seat is similar to rough suede. It's awesome for keeping you fixed (no sliding in corners), but it holds water -- you cannot dry the saddle by wiping. If you leave your bike in the rain you will NEED waterproof pants. The pillion seat is covered in rubbery vinyl so it's easy to wipe off.
I haven't used them yet, but the pillion seat comes with rings for anchoring rope / cord / hooks. They *look* sturdy, but I won't ask my girlfriend to hang on to 'em as long as I still like her.
Overall, I recommend this saddle, with the caveat that the lack of hardware is a serious irritation.

Anthony A asked:I just received my Saddlemen Adventure Track Seat for my Suzuki VStrom 650/1000. When I went to fit it, I noticed the tongues and the lock received pit is not cast in the formed plastic base. Am I supposed to strip my existing seat for parts, make and fit metal tongues and drill a hole for the lock receiver pin?Nov 30, 2014
