Saddlemen Adventure Track Seat for Kawasaki KLR650

The Saddlemen Adventure Track Seat is a hybrid seat design that combines Saddlemen's exclusive elements of a GEL comfort layer and progressive density foam with a GEL-Channel design to provide Adventure and Dual Sport riders with unparalleled comfort and control. Rugged marine-grade synthetic suede resists the elements while providing the proper balance of grip and comfort under the rider's posterior.

The pillion section is covered with high-tech gripper material to help hold cargo in place and is shaped to match the rear rack's height for simplified cargo packing. Integrated bag or cargo mounting points on the pillion match Saddlemen Adventure PACK bags or use them to secure your own load.

Features:

  • Hybrid seat design combines SaddleGel interior, progressive density foam and a Gel Channel saddle  to provide Adventure and Dual Sport riders with unparalleled comfort and control
  • Saddlemen’s Gel Channel (GC) technology (patent pending) seats incorporate a split piece of SaddleGel  and a channel in the base foam to relieve seating pressure on the perineal area, increase blood flow, thus keeping the rider in the saddle longer
  • Gel Channel seats offer high quality, durable construction and styling that’s as unique as it is functional
  • The vinyl and rugged micro-fiber suede cover holds up to hard use while providing a superb blend of  comfort and control (certain models feature a rugged gripper style cover)
  • Some seat applications, such as mid-sized Dual Sport motorcycles, have a standard foam design (no GC) with a gripper and vinyl cover better suited to rigorous riding
  • Integrated bag/cargo mounting points on the pillion portion of the Adventure-class seat sets make it easy to attach Saddlemen’s Adventure PACK luggage or other cargo
  • Most mid-sized Dual Sport applications also include a luggage/cargo mounting strap set that  installs or removes in seconds from the seat
  • A solo rider-seat, rather than a full two-piece set, is available in some applications
  • Most seats are also available in low-profile designs

Note: Image is for reference only, actual seat may vary slightly.

Great seat
This is a substantial improvement over the stock seat. The design and construction are both excellent. I just returned from a 1200 mile trip on mixed roads that ranged from interstate, forest service roads, to back country gravel. The seat was comfortable in all conditions, especially considering the amount of vibration on the KLR. Absolutely happy with the seat.

Excellent quality, feel, fit, look and function.
I bought this for a KLR650 2011. After 1000 miles with the original seat and now another 1000 miles on the Saddlemen, my understanding is the following: Both the original and the high tech-high price seat transfer lots of tire vibration caused by usage of KLR on roads at speeds higher than 50 MPH.

Having said that, obviously the Saddlemen is nicer, more comfortable (at least for the pilot, not so if you carry a passenger), looks awesome and makes the bike narrower, thus improving the overall riding experience.

Much of the uncomfortable feel of the KLR650 seat is NOT due to the seat itself, but to the tires and the type of terrain.

Any Off-Road tire will generate micro vibrations that get transferred and make the ride relatively uncomfortable while seating too long on hard surfaces at high speeds.

So, all I am saying is, if you use the KLR on the road, and not much off-road, thing about a possible change of tires before changing the seat.

Well made, comfortable, should have included a rain cover.
Appears well made and way more comfortable than the OEM seat.

The nit-picky stuff; Given it's price and design using suede type material plus having a channel in the middle it should have included a rain cover (which is why it didn't rate a '5'). Saddlemen does sell rain-covers separately however none are specifically designated as fitting this seat and two email requests to their sales department have gone unanswered....

I didn't think that I could find a comfortable saddle for my KLR but this one is. It is very well made and easy to install.

Looks great, easy to install.
Great product, very easy to install. Took 5 minutes. High quality construction, much much better than original seat. A bit stiff at first but breaks in nicely.

Wish I'd bought this sooner!
Outstanding seat!

I'm a Saddleman customer for life.

With the stock seat I could barely ride an hour without pain in the rear and thighs. I can comfortably ride all day with the new seat.

Ergonomics are excellent and the suede material allows the rider to stay planted to the seat at all times.

I rode a day ride on a friends KLR that had this seat. It made a world of difference for me. Haven't used this one yet but should be the same.

Best seat upgrade for the KLR. I did a lot of research. Too much for a seat, but glad I did, this seat ROCKS!
Michael H on Oct 12, 2015
Internet reviews narrowed the choice to the Sargent or Saddleman. I choose the Saddleman based upon initial appearance of quality (final judgement delayed until at least after 1 year of use) and and contstruction style. I also like the channel that reduces pressure on 'the boys' and sensitive nerve areas.

I can say that compared to the OEM seat this one is superior, I cannot say how it compares to other after market seats.

Does anyone know if this will fit the 2015 as well? Other seat manufacturers are listing 1987 to 2015. Is this just an old product, and the description hasn't been updated ?

BEST ANSWER: Yes it fits 2015 . I have one on mine and I love it.
How is the ride for the passenger?

Is this seat the same height as the stock seat?
Raymond M on Aug 28, 2014
