Saddlemen Adventure Track Seat for Triumph Tiger 800

The Saddlemen Adventure Track Seat is a new, hybrid seat design that combines Saddlemen's exclusive elements of a GEL comfort layer and progressive density foam with a GEL-Channel design to provide Adventure and Dual Sport riders with unparalleled comfort and control. Rugged marine-grade synthetic suede resists the elements while providing the proper balance of grip and comfort under the rider's posterior.

The pillion section is covered with high-tech gripper material to help hold cargo in place and is shaped to match the rear rack's height for simplified cargo packing. Integrated bag or cargo mounting points on the pillion match Saddlemen Adventure PACK bags or use them to secure your own load.

Also available as an optional heated version that warm the rider's section (front seat only) with 5-levels of heat, operated by remote control, making this seat the dual-purpose saddle you need to circumnavigate the globe.

Does the center channel collect rain, or does it drain or shed water somehow?

Answer: 
The center channel on the Saddleman seat does not have any drainage and would collect water if riding in the rain, which is bound to happen on an adventure touring bike. However, it is a closed cell foam and will not absorb in to the seat.

Answer: 
I posed this question directly to Saddlemen. Here's their answer:

"We recommend covering the seat if exposed to the elements during wet
weather. The channel is not particularly deep any water that might collect
should be absorbed with a moderately sized dry cloth."

So, not so good. Personally, I'm not going to put a cover on every time it *might* rain....
