Saddlemen Adventure Track Seat BMW F 650 GS / F 700 GS / F 800 GS
The Saddlemen Adventure Track Seat is a new, hybrid seat design that combines Saddlemen's exclusive elements of a GEL comfort layer and progressive density foam with a GEL-Channel design to provide Adventure and Dual Sport riders with unparalleled comfort and control. Rugged marine-grade synthetic suede resists the elements while providing the proper balance of grip and comfort under the rider's posterior.
The pillion section is covered with high-tech gripper material to help hold cargo in place and is shaped to match the rear rack's height for simplified cargo packing. Integrated bag or cargo mounting points on the pillion match Saddlemen Adventure PACK bags or use them to secure your own load.
Also available as an optional heated version that warm the rider's section (front seat only) with 5-levels of heat, operated by remote control, making this seat the dual-purpose saddle you need to circumnavigate the globe.
Note: Image is for reference only, actual seat may vary slightly.
What a change in comfort
Now I can ride my f800 gs without being tortured. This seat solves the problem with crushing the family jewels! Is is somewhat difficult to fit on the bike the first time, but improves with time.

Poor fitment...at first, but.....
Love the looks of this seat, once fixed. Read other reviews on the 'net, consensus was there is/was a poor fitment between front of seat/faux fuel tank junction. I took my chances, but had the same issue. I live maybe a 20 minute ride to Saddlemen's shop here in SoCal. Made a couple phone calls, and met with the folks at the shop. They were able to see first hand the problem. Saddlemen redid the seat cover, much better, but the gap is still visible, but much better than it was. Guys gave me a tour of the shop, and how they make their seats. Ride/feel is great, and I love the center channel of the seat on long rides, between fill-ups, have no sore back-side. Much better then OEM on the '13 F800GS.

Saddlemen Adventure seat is vast improvement over the stocker.
I just purchased this seat and have about 300 miles on it. Initially it feels hard, but quickly settles into long distance comfort. The only negative thing I can say is, it raises the seat height about half an inch. I have 32'' inseam and I weigh 160lbs, So I am not sagging the suspension much and can barely touch with both feet. Other than that it feels great once you have worn the seat for few miles. Looks great too. I get many complements on it!

On the fence...
Seat is definitely more comfortable than the stock plank of wood that came with the bike. Price is definitely better than other aftermarket seats. But, there are a couple of issues:
1. Shipping- no padding or styrofoam around the seat in the cardboard box. Very scary, especially seeing how beat up the box was. Fortunately, the seat looks to have made it without any damage.
2. Fit- the seat is not exactly easy to get on the bike. Really have to give it some oomph to get it into place. Then, once in place, there is a sizable gap between the front of the seat and the faux gas tank. Not pleased. I ride year round and I'm really afraid of what this will mean when it rains. Anybody ever poured water under their seat to see what happens? If so, please let me know.
3. Features- it would be nice if there was a place to attach the tools that came with under the stock seat. Also, the sides of the pillion cushion have hidden loops, underneath flaps that are held down with velcro. The loops are meant to be used if you need to tie something down. Interesting. But not something I'll probably ever use... so I would prefer the seat to just look "normal", without these extra flaps of material.
So, as the title says, I'm on the fence... would I buy this seat again? Probably not. Probably should have gone for the Comfort Seat from the Germans... .

Thomas K: Anyone who has ever taken an extended off road ride knows that perineal irritation can be terrible. I purchased this seat to prevent prostatitis which occasionally occurs with this type of riding.Jan 5, 2014
