  • Excellent airflow through protector
  • 17.125" (H) x 7" (W) x 0.8" Thick

2014 and later Rukka Jackets (AiRider, Airman & Armaxion) include a slip-in pouch inside of the back protector pocket holding the back protector firmly in place. In previous models (such as Airway and Armas) some movement of the back protector within the pocket is possible.

Right thing by Revzilla Revzilla sent this along for free with the Rukka AirMan Jacket. Thanks guys for doing what Rukka should of been doing in the first place on this jacket. June 23, 2014
Excellent gear As with all D30 pads the quality is obvious. It is very well built stuff and I would recommend it to anyone. June 15, 2014
good pad This is a serious back protector. D3O is great. My AiRider jacket came with no back pad at all so I got this one and it's like a big filet of salmon. Kind of heavy but like the other guy said it's OK when the jacket's on. It flows air better than other pads and really seems like it will do the trick in a wipeout. CE level 2 I think. Good price for the quality. June 8, 2014
Good choice for my Olympia Airglide 4 jacket Swapped this in for the existing back protector in my Olympia Airglide 4 jacket. Wanted a little extra, although the jacket does come with a lot already. Felt heavy when I first put it in the pocket, but on the bike I didn't even notice it. Good ventilation and extra peace of mind. June 2, 2014
Just in case What can you say, but I hope I don't need this protection, but it's nice to know it is there. Fits perfectly in the Airman jacket. May 25, 2014
Comfortable Protection Replaced the standard armor about 1500 miles ago in my Olympia MotoQuest Riding Suit with the RUKKA D30 and found better comfort and air flow along the back. In fact while the suit's armor was good I did not realize until I changed it that I knew it was there until I put the the RUKKA in. I had to check that I had in fact put it in as it seamlessly provided protection. April 30, 2014
Excellent armor, but beware if you have an older Rukka suit I have an eight year old Rukka Airpower suit, and switched the original black rubbery armor out for the D30 armor. The armor is WAYYY better than anything else I have seen, and should be useful on a variety of other brands. However, beware of buying this for an older Rukka; the thicker armor causes a change in the fit of the jacket, and although the back protector works fine (except in a woman's jacket: you'll have to trim some of the foam off to get it to fit), it causes the shoulder armor to pull back, leaving the shoulders unprotected. It should work perfectly in a newer suit. February 20, 2014
This is much better than the foam one it is replacing. I am replacing the foam back protector from my Olympia jacket with the d3o from Rukka. December 16, 2013

Thomas H: Well I hate to say that I did have an opportunity to us the ce level 2 back protector I did a bars flip to the ground and felt the road hit was able to get up with no problem I hope it was due to the protection of the back protector I just had sore ribs for a few days but my bike took the worse about $3.000.00 worth of damage but I'm upright. You never feel it in your jacket and it's very comfortable . Hope that helps to answers your question. Mar 11, 2014

A s: No doesn't say anywhere. Great coverage good air flow but way too heavy.

I have this pad in my Olympia mesh jacket and it is VERY uncomfortable as it is pulling my jacket backward and tightening the jacket colar around my throat. I have to constantly reposition the pad and adjust my jacket.

You May have different results with a winter jacket.
Would not recommend for a summer jacket.

Ken D: well unfortiurtately or fortionately I have not tested i t all I can say is the back protector and the other pieces are softer than the black plastic ones in a inpact the orange ones harden up on this I will take rukkers word for it I think the orange ones have a ec standard the black do not ken Mar 10, 2014

Christopher S: The protector is stamped "prEN1621-2:2010" for the test method. The "CE" stamp is off by itself, and the only other number is a "1" next to symbols for hot, cold, and motorcycle. So... I take it to be CE level 1. Other products explicitly say level 2 if they got it. That said, pad is solid and gets decent air through the jacket. Mar 10, 2014

Barry H: Early this winter I purchased a closeout Olympia Jacket. The protection was rather light and because I saved quite a bit on the jacket, I changed out all of the armor to D3O Protectors. The back coverage is great as well as the shoulders and elbows. Everything is super comfortable.

Tamarah Y: It's CE level 1. It's substantial, though, and should offer much better protection than some of the cheap level 1's I've come across. You'll be pleasantly surprised if you purchase this back protector. Mar 10, 2014

William G: It does say EN1621-2:2010 on the back protector. CE Level 2. Good center spine coverage, a little heavier than CE level 1, but has excellent airflow. Mar 10, 2014

Eric H: Don't remember the details, it is thick/flexible. Haven't had to test, but believe it would be better then what came with the jacket. Mar 10, 2014
