Rukka D3O Air Back Protector

Rukka D3O Air Back Protector 3.5 5 2 2

Much more flexible than my old CE back protector I replaced the CE approved back protector in my Olympia Motorsports jackets with this. It should breathe better (although it's still too cold to test that) in warmer weather and is definitely less rigid. I've also replaced my elbow armor with this and have shoulder pads on order. Back protector is beefy but poorly designed I upgraded all the armor panels in my Rukka Airway jacket to the D3O pads, but this is the only pad that I felt was poorly designed. The default Rukka black air pad is much wider than this one and fills all the excess space at the back of the jacket. This D3O pad just sort of hangs there from the (small) velcro strap at the top of the armor pocket and swings around at your back. In fact, the loop to hook this pad into the jacket was too fat and I had to cut part of the pad so the tiny velcro strap could fit through it and connect. Overall, this pad was poorly designed and doesn't feel like it was designed for my jacket. I recommend all the OTHER D3O pads for the Rukka jacket (elbow, shoulder, hip, shin) except this one.
