This is a steel, pretty thick and severely heavier than expected.
The mounting screws that came with it are "ok" however run over to Home Depot and buy some round headed METRIC headed screws with washers, lock washers and nylon lock nuts. Metric because not everyone carries those around. Surely everyone has philips and flat head screw drivers though.
I am a paranoid guy so I put like 12 screws in them. The "2" screws holding the Rotopax mounting system does the job. However I drilled two more holes and added 2 more. Why not? Kind of confused why the holes didn't align for 4 screws. Probably for other units or systems?
I also recommend you saw off the screw ends and make indents in the end, so the nut won't come wiggling off. That or a thief wouldn't be able to easily unscrew it and run off with your $60 gas pack.
Maybe I am paranoid or just over cautious. Either way, someone is going to have to work their butt off to steal my stuff :-p
