The little things count As we all know RSD makes some excellent pieces and this one is no exception. The brace is very well made. The design is top notch and it just completes the look of the sportster. Price wise, its a bit on the expensive side but thats what we pay for if you want RSD on your bike. Overall I think that the brace is great and it does what its designed to do. I recommend this piece and I will be putting more RSD products on my sportster. December 25, 2013
Heavy duty, great looking, and functional to boot! I'm a big fan of most everything that Roland Sands creates. His stuff is first rate. I wanted to go fenderless with my sportster cafe build but didn't want to have to turn the sliders to eliminate the fender bosses. Basically I bought this to take up the fender mounting holes. That said, this could be mounted with the fender. It looks awesome, heavy crinkled finish, and has enough clearance. In addition it's strong enough to have a real effect on handling, stiffening up those bendy sportster forks. Highly recommend this. November 25, 2013
Great product very well design and great finishing I'm very happy with your service super fast shipping and best price in the market I will buy again. August 5, 2013
Thick and Sturdy Quality American Product. Like all RSD parts the fit and finish are superb. Includes mounting hardware with lock nuts. Installation took all of 5 minutes. Powdercoat is thick and should hold up well. This completes the street tracker look of my nightster, and complements the array of RSD parts on the bike. Clip ons, headlight and guage relocator, gas cap, seat. All parts available here at Revzilla. May 9, 2013

George P: wanted to stiffen up front end, and ditch front fender. Mar 4, 2014
A S asked: Can I mount this with a fender to raise the fender an inch or so? Jul 31, 2014

Jared F: This bracket is to REPLACE the fender only. It can not be installed with a fender. It is essentially a stylish brace to maintain the same structural integrity between the 2 forks once you take the fender off. Jul 31, 2014

John P: This mounts in the same holes as the fender does so you lose your mounting points. You could perhaps jam it together but it wasn't designed to be mounted that way. Jul 31, 2014

Shawn H: No, you'd be better off just making some extensions if all you want to do is raise the fender. Aug 1, 2014

Randall H: I don't think so. The brace uses the same screw holes that you would mount the fender too. Aug 3, 2014

Dylan S: I don't think so, it's made to just replace the fender. Jul 31, 2014

Grant W asked: Anybody who has hit a small puddle with this thing on their bike... Will it eliminate the water wheel effect that occurs without a front fender? I'm not looking to ride in a downpour with it I just want to be able to go over a little wetness on the road without getting a face full of water droplets. Mar 10, 2014

A s: This is a front fork brace not a front fender. It allows you to remove the front fender while increasing rigidity. It will not do anything to protect your face from water droplets. It will stabilize your front fork much better than stock, with or especially without fender.
Plus, it just looks badass.
If water droplets are your concern, invest in a quality full face helmet or at least good eye protection.

Grant W: Thanks for the quick reply, and good advice. I'm pretty used to avoiding the wet because I'm rockin' no front fender as of right now. I'll be purchasing it soon regardless of it's "anti-water wheel" capabilities. Mostly because I know I need something up front to brace the forks but a sporty front end is too cool to spoil with a fender. Mar 11, 2014

Alex M: I have it, and my advice would be to dodge the puddles. It might be slightly better than nothing, but that's not what it's really meant to do. Mar 11, 2014

A shopper asked: will this fit my 2014 XL883N? Jun 3, 2014
Answer this · Send to friends Good question? Yes (0) No (0)
John P: These braces are sold by width. They come for wide glides and narrow forks and the product description generally gives the width between the outside of the brace legs.
The brace goes into the holes where the front fender is mounted so if you measure between the distance between the inside of those mounting points you'll have the correct measurement.

Jorge A M asked: I have a 2002 sportster 1200 xl custom. which Fork Brace do i need for it, the narrow or the wide one??? Oct 17, 2013
Answer this · Send to friends Good question? Yes (0) No (0)
John P: Sportsters in general would take the narrow brace. That said, you will very easily be able to tell if you have the wrong one before opening the package and Revzilla is great at exchanges if you haven't mounted the part.

Good looking piece, I'm going fender-less and this part means I don't have to remove the fender mounting points from the forks AND it will stiffen up the front end.

Jared F: Narrow. Unless you have a massive front tire like the 48, all the sportsters are narrow. Oct 17, 2013
