My stock seat was the worst
I had two problems with the stock seat of my Forty Eight: It was unbearably uncomfortable, and every time I'd snap the throttle I'd slip off the back onto the fender.

This seat is really comfortable and the shape prevents me from slipping back. Even better, it moves my position a bit further back from stock which was unexpected but very welcomed.

I was worried about the synthetic material at first, but it sat in strong California sun every day for almost a year and it still looks like the first day I bought it.

Best Sportster Upgrade Besides Mufflers
My 72 is my local commuter that compliments my '11 FLHRC. By no means is the Boss seat as comfortable as a sundowner, but for a Sporty ridden on short trips, it's perfect! To be so thin, the seat is exceptionally soft and absorbs road impacts well. Eliminated my sliding off of the seat under throttle blips. Altered my seating position; lower and moved back. Change in seat position was welcomed, as I'm 6'.

Great seat.
This seat has been one of my favorite upgrades. It's more comfortable than the stock seat and the rise of the rear keeps me from sliding back when I get on the throttle.

The seat didn't fit right out of the box, the mounting tab on the rear of the seat was close to 3/8" further back that the bolt hole on the fender. My solution to this was to remove the front mounting tab on the front of the seat and replace it with the one from the stock seat. It lined up almost perfectly after that.

Does this fit a 2015 Forty Eight? I tried one at Roland Sands and the fender bolt was nearly 1/4 inch off. There was no way to make it work. I'm not sure if that seat was just misaligned or defective. My wife really wants this seat on her bike, but I'd like confirmation that someone has put it on a new Forty Eight.

Thank you.

It is ok for 2012 Sportster xl 1200c with 4.5 tank ?
A shopper on May 28, 2015
BEST ANSWER: With it on the bike, it looks like it should but I haven't tested it with that tank. It fits fine with the 2.2 and the 3.3 with a bit of space.
