Great product for the money. Very good quality Great product for the money. Very good quality!!!! October 12, 2015
1 major flaw I bought this jacket less than a year ago. I have loved it the entire time I've had it. It's gone through winter, rain and hot days. It adapts to all weather conditions. That's why I was so disappointed when I noticed about a month ago that it was tearing. The fabric material has torn open on both sides of the back at my shoulder blade area. I take care of this jacket, it gets hung up when not being worn. The rest is in good shape but there seems to be a material or design flaw that causes the back shoulder areas to degrade. I've seen other reviews where people have the same problem. Its an awesome jacket but I think a jacket should last more than 9-10 months. June 23, 2015
A good jacket for the money. I am pleased with the jacket. I like how it is longer so that the back of your waistline does not get cold. It's a nice looking jacket. The only con I can think of is the top strap should be a little longer, it's a little tight. March 26, 2015
Survived a fall very well. I just fell in this thing today, so I finally feel like I can give a fair review. This thing held up amazingly well, all things considered. I fell at about 30mph, and slid entirely on the left side of the jacket. No major damage other than a couple small seam splits. I'm very impressed. This jacket is VERY warm, hot summers are very warm even with all the vents open and moving. However, it's not unbearable and it does very well in the winter. There are small design flaws, things like the liner buttons ripping easily and the velcro wearing out the vents quickly, but all of this can be overlooked considering the price and featureset of this jacket. I would highly recommend it to anyone wanting a dependable and cost-effective jacket. March 17, 2015
Great jacket for the money The jacket is great, good for summer and fall (only seasons I've had it so far), and it has served well. My only complaint is that the buttons the fasten the sleeves of the inner liner to the outer shell broke the first time I took the jacket off. Other than that everything has been good. Taos river road jacket is poor quality My partner and I bought Taos motorcycle jackets (men's and women's) from Revzilla in April and had them shipped to New Zealand. We've had issues with them ever since they arrived. We only ride motorcycles on the road and only on weekends with no crashes so I have no idea why these jacket would rip so easily. Both jacket have ripped at the upper sleeve seem and my parters jacket has also had the velcro fastenings pull off. We bought these jackets online especially so we could get a better deal on good quality jackets. I'm wondering if anyone else has experienced such poor quality from the Taos jacket and if so, why are you selling them?? We've only had them a few months, only ride weekends, never fall, and hardly ever ride in bad weather. It's really sad to see a jacket that's supposedly designed to protect you rip for absolutely no reason. We took them into the local motorcycle shop to see if we could get them repaired somehow and the guy behind the counter told us not to bother and to just buy new jackets! We're very disappointed. Great "modern classic" jacket at a good price I bought this jacket as a cold weather solution for use on my Goldwing, so I use it in conjunction with a heated jacket liner. My review will be with those conditions in mind. I was glad that Revzilla included a product review video and a revised sizing chart for the Taos, otherwise I would have ordered a jacket that was far too big. I have a 43" chest, and the medium jacket fit me nearly perfectly. The Taos runs larger than you'd expect it to, so be sure to look at the Revzilla sizing chart before you buy, and don't rely solely on what sizes of gear you've bought in the past. I've had a number of rides with the jacket now, in temperatures ranging from the high 30's to the low-mid 70's. I've found that I can wear this jacket with nothing but a polo shirt or T-shirt and be comfortable down to about 50-55 degrees. With my heated jacket liner in place, I can wear a single shirt, run the liner on 50% power, and be comfortable down to the low 40's. With the liner at 75% power (and a single shirt, mind you), I'm comfortable into the low 30's. I imagine that on 100% power and with a sweatshirt included, I'd be comfortable into the teens or lower. I've not yet removed the jacket's insulated liner to see how comfortable it is without, but I imagine that I could wear the jacket into the 80's with no insulating liner and the vents all opened. Keeping in mind that I'm riding a Goldwing, I don't think I'll be able to evaluate the airflow characteristics of the Taos very well, as I have quite a large fairing blocking air that would otherwise be flowing through the jacket. I like the "modern classic" look of the Taos. It has a very contemporary design that's mercifully unadorned with boy-racer company logos. In fact, I've received a number of compliments from coworkers about the flattering cut of the jacket, and many of those co-workers don't even ride motorcycles. I think many years from now, the style of this jacket will still look good. If there were one thing that I wish could be changed, it would be to add a way to cinch in around the chest just a little bit. The adjustment straps around the waist did a good job, but when I sit down on the bike the jacket rides up just a hair and the chest area balloons out a small amount. If there were some sort of adjustment strap that could cinch in the chest by about an inch, I think the jacket would fit perfectly when seated. At least on a Goldwing. Stylish, comfortable, warm, and doesn't break the bank. For what I need, the Taos does a great job. October 27, 2014
Good value for the price. The jacket works very well for an entry level jacket. I think it is an excellent value for the money. The fit is slightly large; I usually wear an XL and I ordered this in L and it fits perfectly. The velcro side straps could be made better, but overall the jacket is very functional. July 21, 2014
