Dang Good Jacket What can I say, bought this jacket for cold weather riding. It done the job keeping warm. The inside pocket could be bigger for the amount of space it occupies. The end of the arm holes are big. That's good because it allows room for winter gloves to tuck inside the arms. Not sure about airflow, I've kept them zipped up. But it is a Solid leather body, NO neoprene panels that get cold. I got a size 40, with liner in, I still have room for a few layers and a hoodie, but that's about it. I'm 5'6'', 140lbs. rather slim build. Pretty comfortable jacket. I came from top brands of jackets. I bought bellow 400 dollars jackets and they suck. I also wore other brands of jackets at this same price, and those suck. The Mesa jacket is very comfortable, warm, and maneuverable. March 23, 2015
Perfect Fit I'm 6'2 225 and I ordered the 46 and it fits perfect March 9, 2015
So far so good So far so good, still breaking it in. It looks nice. I ride a 2013 Triumph Bonneyville and the look is appropriate. the leather is good quality (smells good too!), workmanship seems good. Overall, very happy for the quality at this price range. So far, the fit is ok. Its a bit constraining, but to be fair, i am early in the break-in process. At this point, i would recommend without reservation. January 26, 2015
Great jacket and comes in sizes for big men I am 5'11" 290lbs with a 54 inch chest and 48 inch waist, and this jacket fit me great in the body, the sleeves were about 3 inches too long but I liked the jacket enough to take it to a leather shop to have the sleeves shortened. It provides enough air flow to keep you cool on warmer days but in my opinion it is a three season jacket here in California. My only complaint about this jacket would be it is not made in the USA. Disappointing I spent several nights researching leather jackets on Revzilla and settled on this one. I based my purchase on the video review, style and price. This jacket seemed perfect. Revzilla shipped super fast! I just got it today after work and the main front zipper doesn't work. That might seem like an anomaly but I just purchased my wife a River Road Rambler from a different online store and it had the exact SAME problem. The zipper separates as you zip it. Both jackets are being returned. There's a serious quality control issue here so I can't recommend this brand. What a huge disappointment! . Revzilla Customer serive was great though and sent me an RMA right away. My humble opinion, Avoid this brand. September 9, 2014
never rode with this, but here's my 2 cents I read a lot of reviews on this jacket and for me this seemed like a good deal. All in all, i like the jacket. I measured my chest at a 40.5", so i ordered a 42. maybe if i was riding with a jacket and tshirt on and that was it, that would be fine. I'm 5'10", 200lbs, average build. I realize that the jacket is not supposed to be loose, but if you wanted anything other than a tshirt underneath it, you are out of luck. I am going to a local bike show this weekend, so i am returning this and going to try and see what i can find there, if no luck, i will be ordering a 46 when i get back in this same jacket so i can wear a sweatshirt and possibly a vest underneath, plus a gat piece if going through a rough part of town. Amazing Jacket I did alot of research on jackets, and glad I did. The river road mesa is a BA jacket. Leather is supple, yet very thick. Armor is well placed. Stitch work is top shelf. I'm 5'11" and 165, with a 39" chest. The 40 was too snug, so returned it for the 42, and fits perfectly. Works great as a biker jacket, and looks nice enough to be worn socially. Liner is warm. Thanks Revzilla for a great experience! December 16, 2013
Great jacket for the price The leather is heavy and really good quality for the price. Ive been using mine in 50-60s deg weather in upstate ny, and it has been quite enjoyable. It is sized a bit big, so if you are between sizes, definitely go down a size. October 21, 2013

RevZilla Store asked: Why did you choose this?
Antonio C: I wanted something visually appealing, functional and still protective. Many of the leather jackets I looked at were either too sporty or lacked the protection I was looking for... plus The Mesa got great reviews! Apr 23, 2015
jesse r: Needed a relaxed fit jacket that was solid leather. Mar 26, 2015
mike n: warmth Feb 9, 2015
William E: For cooler weather riding in Missouri. Heavy leather, no perforations, fully sleeved thermal liner, quality zippers, simple design, adjustable waist. Wish it came with CE rated armor in the shoulders and elbows. Have purchased CE armor for it. Dec 12, 2014
Jeffrey R: Needed a good leather riding jacket without paying an extremely high price. This leather jacket turned out to be heavy duty and had all the options I wanted at an affordable price. This is my only riding leather. May 14, 2014
David B: tried it on in local motorcycle shop fit was great for my athletic build 210lbs 5'9.size 46.revzilla price matched another competitor making this a great bang for the buck.i will be adding my own armor. Nov 15, 2013
Craig R: Seemed a very good quality leather for the price, and I like the restrained elegance of the design, simple, classic and hopefully practical. I am 6'1" with longish back, so I am also hoping it will not be too short in the back for me. Sep 7, 2013
A shopper asked: i see that it says the armor is upgradable but i dont see any armor that river road offers, just wondering what is used to upgrade? Jul 1, 2014

Jeffrey R: To shop for upgradable armor on Revzilla, search for "replacement-armor".
I don't know what manufacturer or size will fit as I have never taken the EVA armor out of my River Road Mesa Jacket. I would think that they would be standard sizes for back, elbows and shoulders.
I would contact the manufacturer (i.e. River Road) if you have any specific questions concerning upgrading the armor in the jacket.

A shopper asked: i have semi ape hangars on my bike. I'm curious how much the jacket might ride up on me when riding. is there anyways to see how much give the elasticated panels have? Mar 9, 2014
Answer this · Send to friends Good question? Yes (0) No (0)
Craig R: My Mesa jacket is a snug, comfortable fit and I never had any hassles with it 'riding up' even at speeds over 130 km/h. My bike is a 1250 GSX FA so the handle bars are certainly not 'semi-ape hangers' nor are they racing clip-on versions. Overall a great jacket, but definitely in the heavier leather category. Love it!
(How's that for advertising, Revzilla??)

Brad V: The Mesa is a great jacket. I ought mine a few months ago and love it. With semi apes, you'll probably want to take out the shoulder armor, but iit won't ride up much more that an inch. It has nice long sleeves. Mar 10, 2014

Chris C: I don't think it's bad. But I'm riding a stock vtx 1300. I guess there are a lot of factOrs involved. Mar 11, 2014

JORGE R asked: I'm thinking of buying this one for myself, but want a matching one for my girl, do you think it would not man up a women's curves? or which one would you recommend similar to this one? (with shoulder and back protection, venting is a must as well). Jan 30, 2015
Answer this · Send to friends Good question? Yes (0) No (0)
William E: Jorge,
I know nothing about the fit of women's clothes, but I would guess, with the snug fit of a leather motorcycle jacket, it would be wise to purchase one designed specifically for a woman. I have not explored women's jackets enough to know of one that would go well with the River Road Mesa.
By the way, the shoulder, elbow, and back protection on the Mesa are not CE approved. I purchased replacement CE rated armor for mine -
Icon D3O Elbow Pads
Icon D3O Shoulder Pads
Icon D3O Back Protector Insert
Finally, on the venting, I think the Mesa is minimally vented and would be very warm in warm weather. I bought it for cooler weather riding.
I have to say, also, I wear a hi-viz vest over my Mesa jacket. It sort of kills the look; but it might keep me from getting killed :)
