R&G Racing Radiator Guard Honda NC700X 2012-2015 Videos

R&G Racing Radiator Guard Honda NC700X

Why would you want a radiator guard? Did you know something as tiny as a valve stem cap can puncture a radiator? Whether you are commuting to work or are wide open throttle down the front straight, blowing a hole in a high pressure cooling system will ruin your day.

R&G Radiator Guards are made from pressed aluminum and feature a neat and seamless pattern. They provide a solid net to catch any small object or debris from making contact with the radiator.

Features:

  • Each radiator guard is bike specific
  • Corrosion resistant finish
  • Mounts to OEM points with no modifications necessary

Simple design, bit expensive
Reviewed for 2013 Honda NC700X manual.

Easy to put on, unscrew two screws and use a zip tie. Takes 10 minutes.

Good protection and peace of mind.

Considering it's just a small metal grate, you could likely create something very similar in function for 1/10th the cost. However the finish on this is likely going to be a bit better.

Good looking product. Easy install.
The radiator guard was super easy to install and looks great. I would have rated it higher in performance and durability but it's too early to make a really good judgment. In this case, the product seems to be great and I am happy with it. Only time will tell in the long run. I will be back to review again after it has some miles on it.

Good guard
This is a good radiator guard. Cleaning the radiator may be made a bit more difficult but the guard will protect it from small rocks and etc. It installs with a bolt at the top and a zip tie at the bottom. Zip tie? I thought the zip tie was a bit on the poor engineering side. Otherwise good.

Okay for regular use, heavier stuff out there for heartier rides...
Install was easy enough. I was a little put off by how flimsy the expanded metal guard actually is, and found myself bending it to proper shape before fitment to the bike.

I am sure that this guard provides a good degree of protection from regular hazards encountered on the road, but find myself doubting its ability to sustain an impact from anything equal to or larger than a dime sized rock, even at in-town speeds.

I am one that prefers some protection over none, which this product offers, this is why I recommend it. However, depending on how I continue to ride my NC (Street vs. ADV), I may up the ante a bit.
