Designed to hook directly under the inner tent to protect the floor in rough terrains. Weighs 6oz
Redverz always recommends you use a footprint — a custom-cut ground cloth designed specifically for the floor plan of your tent. Footprints protect your tent floor from abrasion, and in the morning they provide a clean surface where you can fold and roll your tent.
If you want to protect the floor under the sleeping bay AND cover the floor in the utility bay, order two (2).
The foot prints avoid having water collect between the tent floor and a footprint during rainy conditions as it's custom fitted for the sleeping area.
the product description says it can be used both under the sleeping-portion and for the Utility Bay. That is not true in my opinion. It is improperly shaped for the Utility Bay and unusable for that purpose. Buy just 1 for under the sleeping compartment and spend $5 at the hardware store for a regular tarp to lay in the Utility Bay. If you want, buy tarp clips and cut a tarp to a pre-determined shape.

If you buy the tent it is a great idea to purchase the ground cloth. It fits perfect to the tent very quickly and can be left on the tent if needed. I purchased two so I could have one in the bike area to place my gear and boots so they are not in the sleeping area.

For the last month or so I have been camping on soft grass so I did not really find a use for it. But for the last 2 1/2 days the rain came in very hard, and I had to spend time inside, so I used the ground sheet in the utility bay. Very handy there. Guess what: I am ordering a second ground sheet right now.......

Dan W asked:I bought 2 Ground Cloths as suggested. They are trapezoidal in shape and have hooks for easy attachment to the corners of the tent. The first fits perfect under the sleeping-portion of the tent. The second ground cloth does not appear to fit in any possible configuration under the tent's utility bay. What am I doing improper, in other words, in what corners do I connect the hooks?Nov 1, 2014
Dave P:I hooked the loops from the ground cloth to the stake down loops on each side of the sleeping compartment. I do not secure the other side. That allows me to roll it up when I need to. It does not cover the entire area of the vestibule.Nov 2, 2014
Bill B:Yep. Same problem here. I just used the cloth the protect the tent underside and hooked the other up to extend the first ground cloth. The extra cloth can be used for the supply side also.Nov 1, 2014
I'd suggest calling Redverz.. and then letting us know what they said.. they may have a different SKU that is a better fit.. or they may just be saying buy a second one and make it fit.
Only the inner tent area has a ground sheet covering. The garage area has no flooring so you can ride your motorcycle in without fear of damaging a ground sheet. We do offer an optional additional ground sheet that you may want to slide over the garage area when using it as an area for gear storage.Nov 2, 2014
Dennis H:i too bought the extra ground cloth for my Redverz tent but I never tried using it in the garage bay portion of the tent. I was about to embark on two month plus trip camping all the way in some very rough conditions at times and thought it might be wise to have the extra ground cover. Sorry I can't help on this one. good luck and ride safe.
Thomas B:You are doing nothing wrong, mine is the same way. I hook up the second one so it covers ground just outside of the sleeping area to help keep from tracking dirt into the sleeping portion of tent.Nov 1, 2014
thank you KK. The product description is quite clear that the Ground Cloth fits the Utility Bay. I'm trying to be positive, yet I'm wondering if there isn't an opportunity for Redverz to create a separate Ground Cloth with different dimensions.
