Performed as expected I ride an FJR1300. I mounted this to my after market triple clamp on a 1" ball mount with a 3" arm. Ran the charger from phone to power outlet on bike. After a 2000 mile trip I was very pleased with this products performance. I was able to use my phone for GPS and music with my bluetooth. I was also able to position the phone high enough to see through the wind shield and video record some of my ride. I have an LG phone with a thin rubber case and this holds it very firm! The upper guard is not needed and the lower is not even nessesary in my situation. I was also able to slide phone up to a position that the arms did not interfere with any of the phones side buttons without compermising grip. October 20, 2014
heavily customizable this is the most flexible holder out there. change it to fit what ever. and RAM products have the knack for durability and they are very sturdy. i wd recommend this over the spring action holder that is over there. September 9, 2014
Fits for what I need Bought this so that I could mount a Snow Lizard case onto my bike (the case encloses my iPhone). Holds it down perfect. Now I can use Google maps vs my standard GPS. July 28, 2014
Simple, effective and stable I really like this design, the stable structure and simple assembly. The only issue is that there are no suggestions for mounting this in a vehicle or on a bike/motorcycle. June 23, 2014
this is a great product The Ram holder is a great product, it has a 3 different adjustment levers depending on your phone it can hold any size, strong grips home won't fall out, but you have to buy the Ram mount May 1, 2014
Fell of the first time I used it I bought this so I could mount my phone in order to use its GPS. I decided to take it on a test run once it was all put together and SECURE, or so i thought. It fell of after the first couple miles. Maybe it was the vibration of the road that just rattled the thing apart or I got a bad model or something. All I know is that I followed the directions exactly, made sure everything was tightly screwed, and $50 fell off of my bike. Thank God I didn't have my phone attached. April 19, 2014
Rugged and Reliable I have a Samsung S4 Active in a protective case and was looking for a way to mount it on my handlebars for an upcoming trip. This RAM holder did the trick. I used the medium height side arms mounted in a way to leave the side control buttons uncovered. I wasn't able to install the upper arm since it covered the headphone jack.but my phone still rides securely - a good thing for a thumper with knobby tires! Cheap, secure and functional... that's all I can ask for. For reference, I used the diamond ball bracket to attach it to an existing mounting point. April 1, 2014
RAM Mounts Universal Finger Grip Cell Phone Holder is funcional this phone mount works well for my iphone5, which is inside a case. Need the U-bolt mount kit with it to attach to handlebar. I have it on my 2013 BMW F800GT January 6, 2014

A shopper asked: This is probably a stupid question, but it does rotate to landscape orientation right? Aug 12, 2013
Answer this · Send to friends Good question? Yes (0) No (0)
Jason T: Yes. The ball adapter that fits on the back can be put on a couple different ways. Then the ball adapter itself can rotate. But it does not rotate to every position 360 Degrees because of the extension bracket. I have a Samsung s3 and this holder works great. Hope this helps. Aug 12, 2013

Marcellis R: No because I was under the impression that the bracket/arm/ holder would come with it and it didn't do I never used it. You'll have to buy separate parts to make that happen otherwise you'll have a freaky looking paper weight. Aug 13, 2013
Reply to Marcellis Good answer? Yes (0) No (0)
Richard W: It will fully rotate with the ball mount hardware you buy separately or you can install it horizontally or vertically with the techmount handlebar mount also sold separately. Hope this helps. Aug 12, 2013

Eric A: It can be mounted vertically or horizontally to a fixed mount. If you are attaching it to a RAM ball mount, it can rotate in any direction and still hold the phone securely. Aug 12, 2013

Gavin T: Yes, but you will need to buy a ball joint (which doesn't come with this Finger Grip holder).

The ball joint will allow you to mount it in any angle

A shopper asked: Is the RAM mounts ubolt kit with diamond pattern the correct accessory to attach this smartphone cradle to the bar on my K75? Oct 9, 2013
Answer this · Send to friends Good question? Yes (0) No (0)
Simon N: I am using the Diamond Pattern cradle adapter to mount this to my RAM mount. Works like a charm! However, be sure to order the right length arm to ensure you get the range of motion required for your application. Oct 11, 2013
Reply to Simon Good answer? Yes (0) No (0)
Travis H: Yes, the diamond mount setup was what I used on my '09 KLR650E.The mount comes with the diamond mount rubber ball, and a round shaped rubber ball adapter plates. Either works with this. Oct 9, 2013

A S asked: for this item would you buy RAM-B-231 or RAM-B-149Z to mount? which one is better? and do you need to buy anything else apart from one of those? Nov 8, 2014
Answer this · Send to friends Good question? Yes (0) No (0)
Robert L: The RAM-B-231 is only the universal ball mount to the handlebar; you need more than that. The RAM-B-149Z is the handlebar mount and the cradle mount with the double socket arm and is the one to buy with the universal finger grip phone holder. I love mine! Nov 9, 2014

Farhan P: You need to get the mount for your bike. And then make sure you have a ball mount. And this clips onto it. Nov 8, 2014
