Puig Racing Windscreen Kawasaki Ninja 1000

Derived from competition, the race bubble design helps diminish the air effect on a rider's helmet.

  • Made of high impact acrylic, giving each screen added strength and flexibility
  • 3mm thickness helps absorb vibration at high speeds, and offers resistance from cracking or scratching
  • All screens are developed using information from wind tunnel testing

Wise purchase The windscreen arrived quickly, in great shape and it bolted right up and it adds a ton to the look of the bike. Worth the money. . August 31, 2015
Looks great, time will tell about durability Just installed this windscreen and have only ridden with it in the lowest position due to our 100 degree weather so I can't speak for performance in the other positions but then that wasn't what I bought it for. Installation wasn't as easy as I expected as the holes didn't match up exactly and required some significant force to flex the screen enough to get the bolts in. Considering all they had to do was copy 6 hole locations that's a little sad and makes me concerned that the screen will Crack around the holes over time due to the constant tension on them. On the plus side the screen looks great! August 24, 2015
Better Coverage, Still Stylish I bought the Puig Racing Screen earlier this year in a spate of accessory buying. There was nothing wrong with the stock screen on my Ninja, but I really liked the look of the Puig and I wanted a bit more protection. I mostly ride as a commuter, and most of those rides are short, so I usually leave the screen in its lowest position. I only raise it when I know I'm going to be riding for an extended period. The Puig creates a slightly larger pocket for me (I'm 6'1"), and it doesn't look out of place on the bike. Many aftermarket screens work great, but they don't blend well with the original styling. This screen is subtly different from stock, enough to make a difference without looking silly. I also feel the black color helps to minimize its profile on the bike. My only complaint is that the material seems thin compared to the OEM screen, and the edges aren't rounded as they are on the stock piece. I can understand if Puig is going for the lightest screen, but since the Ninja 1000 isn't really a racer, I'd prefer a more finished look and substantial feel over a few saved ounces of weight. This product inhanced the look of my ninja. Easy to install, looks great, first time buyer on revzilla and it was home in 3 days. It's been on the bike on highway miles and it's not shakey. It holds strong. I recommend this product. June 22, 2015
Looks better than the factory windscreen I bought this windscreen for my Ninja 1000, I've put about 100 miles on it. I love it, so far so good. Looks so much better than the factory windscreen, a little taller and wider. only thing I regret is getting the dark smoke, I wish I'd went with the blackout tint May 18, 2015
Great Windscreen! Highly Recommended. The Puig windscreen is a little wider and a little taller than stock. The tint and the shape look much better than stock. Finish is excellent and installation is very easy. I bought black mounting bolts as they look much better than the stock silver bolts. In the low and medium position, airflow is smooth. I don't feel like the air is trying to move my shoulders like the stock screen. In the high position, there is a bit of turbulence, but it is better than stock. This was a very good purchase and would recommend it to other owners of the Ninja 1000. May 1, 2015
Awesome This windscreen installed in under five minutes and looks ten times better than the stock one. It shipped in less time than predicted and works better than advertised. Zero complaints, zero issues, I wish everything I bought from the internet turned out this good. April 20, 2015
Puig windscreen in light smoke I purchased this windscreen a couple of weeks ago to replace the stock one on my 2014 Ninja 1000. Based on previous reviews, it appeared to be the best choice performance-wise and aesthetically for me. I had realistic expectations as to what to expect. Windscreens on sport bikes will never block as much wind as those on cruisers. I am happy to say, though, that it's a very good improvement over stock, plus it just plain looks better - especially in light smoke. Besides my regular around town riding, I've done a 3 hour trip on the freeway and an hour ride in the mountains since I installed it. The most wind is blocked when the screen is in it's highest position - no surprise there. The finish is excellent and it looks so well made that I expect it to be at least as durable as stock. I read some comments about the thickness. I didn't measure it but in a side by side comparison, it may be ever so slightly thicker, but I'd say essentially the same. It's not thin at all. I would recommend it to anyone looking for improved wind management and a greatly improved appearance at a fair price. February 10, 2015

A shopper asked: Does it come with the screws or other mounting hardware? Jun 24, 2015

Gunnar B: No need and it doesn't come with different screws! It is an easy plug in place exchange. You can use the OEM hard wear to mount the new screen. I love the design and the performance of the new windscreen. Much better wind protection and view of the Gage's.... Jun 24, 2015

T R: Mine did not come with any screws, etc. I went to the dealer ship and bought some black screws because the OEM ones were silver and wouldn't look good on a basically black windshield in my opinion. However, they would work! Jul 7, 2015

dale h: You can use the same screws that held the old one on, no hardware needed. I think black screws would look better, you can buy them from Kawasaki in black. Jun 24, 2015

Jose D: Sorry for the late reply, but the only thing that comes is the windscreen, no hardware. Installation is easy. Just take off the old one and place the new one on, you might have to shift the mounting rack a bit to get the bolts in the screen slots. No biggie though Jun 25, 2015

keith v: No it does not come with mounting hardware. The OEM hardware worked perfectly and it was an exact fit. Very much improved wind flow as well. A good purchase for me. Jun 25, 2015

Jon K: I can't give you a definitive on That. Mine is a 14. If your dealer has a 14 on the floor I'd look it over. Love my smoked puig by the way. Mar 11, 2015

dale h: I think it will, i see no difference in 14 15. You will love the screen really cleans

Michael S: Okay, thanks. I just ordered the dark smoke Puig for my 2015 Ninja 1000. It should look pretty good on my dark charcoal gray/black bike and hopefully it will give me some better protection than the OEM windscreen. Mar 11, 2015

Answer this · Send to friends Good question? Yes (0) No (0)
Chad C: I can only confirm that it fits the 2014 Ninja 1000. Considering the Z1000 is a naked street fighter, I do not believe this will fit on a Z1000. Sep 22, 2014

Anthony P asked: For the Ninja 1000, how does puig racing windscreen compare to zero gravity double bubble?
Are both very close to stock dimensions? Is it just a matter of preference for the particular shape?
Jul 18, 2014

David C: I can't really make a comparison between the two because I haven't seen both side by side, I can say the Puig looks and fits great. Puig and Zero Gravity both make great windscreens and I owned examples of both. I personally have the Puig on my bike but am sure would be happy with either one Jul 19, 2014

Jon K: Puig is very close to stock windscreen. I think its better built to be honest. Seems slightly thicker. I've seen the bubble on an N1K , not a fan. Makes the bike look more like a super sport . Love the handling of this sport tourer. Hope this helps. Rubber side down boys! Jul 19, 2014

Joe W: So, Jon, would you recommend this Puig Racing Windscreen for touring purposes? Nov 17, 2014
Jon K: I rode 2k last summer thru midwest with screen fully upright, with helmet on. For all out touring you may want to look for the tallest one available. I saw a taller model revzilla carries, but i made the compromise of looks and function. Im very happy with puig. Took a serious rock off it this summer, sounded like a .45 round. When i got home i couldnt even find where it impacted. Nov 17, 2014
Jeff B: I can't say how the Zero Gravity fits, but the Puig fit fine. Everything lined up real well. As for why I chose the Puig, I just preferred the look over the Zero Gravity double bubble. Jul 18, 2014

Joe W asked: What is the length and width of this Puig Racing Windscreen for the 2014 Ninja 1000? How much taller is it than stock? Nov 17, 2014
Answer this · Send to friends Good question? Yes (0) No (0)
Benjamin M: It is just slightly taller and wider. Also, it's a bit thicker. The shape is the biggest plus though as buffeting is greatly reduced. I've run mine on the low setting for over 6000 miles. For me, the low setting provides the cleanest air, and the lift provided by air pushing against my chest takes a good deal of pressure off my wrists. As a result, I've found I can cover more miles per day without discomfort. However, in the high setting, it does provide for more wind/rain protection than the stock screen. Nov 18, 2014
