Puig Racing Windscreen Kawasaki Ninja 1000

Derived from competition, the race bubble design helps diminish the air effect on a rider's helmet.

  • Made of high impact acrylic, giving each screen added strength and flexibility
  • 3mm thickness helps absorb vibration at high speeds, and offers resistance from cracking or scratching
  • All screens are developed using information from wind tunnel testing

Puig windscreen in light smoke I purchased this windscreen a couple of weeks ago to replace the stock one on my 2014 Ninja 1000. Based on previous reviews, it appeared to be the best choice performance-wise and aesthetically for me. I had realistic expectations as to what to expect. Windscreens on sport bikes will never block as much wind as those on cruisers. I am happy to say, though, that it's a very good improvement over stock, plus it just plain looks better - especially in light smoke. Besides my regular around town riding, I've done a 3 hour trip on the freeway and an hour ride in the mountains since I installed it. The most wind is blocked when the screen is in it's highest position - no surprise there. The finish is excellent and it looks so well made that I expect it to be at least as durable as stock. I read some comments about the thickness. I didn't measure it but in a side by side comparison, it may be ever so slightly thicker, but I'd say essentially the same. It's not thin at all. I would recommend it to anyone looking for improved wind management and a greatly improved appearance at a fair price. February 10, 2015
Meets my expectations I have bought the Puig windscreen to replace the stock windscreen on my 2014 Ninja 1000. When I did some research on the web prior to my purchase I wasn't sure if the smoked tint would be dark enough. However, it met my expectations 100%. It looks sharp and aggressive. It channels the wind slightly higher than the stock windscreen. I am not sure yet if I am going to purchase a lower screen in the future. I will test this out with my stock screen to see if I am happier with a different type of air flow. I prefer the diverted wind not to hit my helmet in normal riding position because of the increased noise but lower (neck/chest). I am 6' tall. It's kind of tricky with windshields and everyone has to decide for him/herself. October 20, 2014
great Great wind screen, better protection then the stock wind screen September 13, 2014
Good replacement I replace the stock Screen on my 2014 Ninja 1000. Definitely made a difference. It took all of ten minutes maybe less to install. Highly recommended.. As always, Great Job Revzilla September 2, 2014
Big improvement over stock I found the stock windscreen on the Ninja inadequate above 65 mph or so, with a lot of helmet buffeting. The protection offered by the Puig is of course dependent on what position you have it in, but it is better in all three. I keep mine in the middle position most of the time, where it works well up to 70 or so. Above that, I put it all the way up, where it sends most of the air over my helmet. And the dark smoke color looks great with the blue bike as well. Overall, a great improvement at modest cost. July 15, 2014
looks great, does its job only reason i didnt give it 5 stars across the board is based on the price, and the fact it doesnt come with mounting hardware. other than that the fit and finish are excellent, and it performs well. completely changed the look of my bike from the front view compared to the large clear stock windscreen. Better wind protection than stock. This is a really nice windshield for my 2014 Ninja 1000. I got the light smoked and it looks great on my bike. I would have given it an Excellent for durability but it seems a little thinner than the stock windshield. April 28, 2014
Best for regular sport bikes! I purchased this Puig for my 2012 Ninja 1000 that sports an upright position for the rider. The Puig is an improvement reducing wind blast over the stock windshield however at 5' 9", I still feel a fair amount of wind on my shoulders and at the top of my helmet. If you sit more prone on your sports bike (flat), this windshield should be great compared to any stock windshield. The product is well built and was easily installed. April 15, 2014

C C: I can only confirm that it fits the 2014 Ninja 1000. Considering the Z1000 is a naked street fighter, I do not believe this will fit on a Z1000. Sep 22, 2014

Anthony P asked: For the Ninja 1000, how does puig racing windscreen compare to zero gravity double bubble?
Are both very close to stock dimensions? Is it just a matter of preference for the particular shape?

David C: I can't really make a comparison between the two because I haven't seen both side by side, I can say the Puig looks and fits great. Puig and Zero Gravity both make great windscreens and I owned examples of both. I personally have the Puig on my bike but am sure would be happy with either one Jul 19, 2014

Jon K: Puig is very close to stock windscreen. I think its better built to be honest. Seems slightly thicker. I've seen the bubble on an N1K , not a fan. Makes the bike look more like a super sport . Love the handling of this sport tourer. Hope this helps. Rubber side down boys! Jul 19, 2014

Joe W: So, Jon, would you recommend this Puig Racing Windscreen for touring purposes? Nov 17, 2014
Jon K: I rode 2k last summer thru midwest with screen fully upright, with helmet on. For all out touring you may want to look for the tallest one available. I saw a taller model revzilla carries, but i made the compromise of looks and function. Im very happy with puig. Took a serious rock off it this summer, sounded like a .45 round. When i got home i couldnt even find where it impacted. Nov 17, 2014
Jeff B: I can't say how the Zero Gravity fits, but the Puig fit fine. Everything lined up real well. As for why I chose the Puig, I just preferred the look over the Zero Gravity double bubble. Jul 18, 2014

charles k: To my knowledge the windscreen for the ninja 1000 has stayed the same so it should fit a 2014. Good choice it has great wind protection in the highest position Jan 6, 2014

Joe W asked: What is the length and width of this Puig Racing Windscreen for the 2014 Ninja 1000? How much taller is it than stock? Nov 17, 2014
Answer this · Send to friends Good question? Yes (0) No (0)
Benjamin M: It is just slightly taller and wider. Also, it's a bit thicker. The shape is the biggest plus though as buffeting is greatly reduced. I've run mine on the low setting for over 6000 miles. For me, the low setting provides the cleanest air, and the lift provided by air pushing against my chest takes a good deal of pressure off my wrists. As a result, I've found I can cover more miles per day without discomfort. However, in the high setting, it does provide for more wind/rain protection than the stock screen. Nov 18, 2014
