Puig Engine Guards BMW F650GS / F700GS / F800GS
Nice crash bars.
There are not a lot reviews for these bars but I decided to try them anyway and I am glad I did. They are solidly made and I was able to mount them in about 45 minutes. I found they provide protection to the brake lever and gear shift, which I wasn't expecting. I found I can rest my heals on the pegs and toes on the bars for a different position. I have not had a get off yet so I can't vouch for how they will hold up. With these bars and barkbusters the fairing should be well protected. I think of crash bars as being disposable as long they protect the engine. I want them to absorb the impact and not transmit it into the engine so we will see how these do over time.

Good but not great coverage
Easy to mount with good, not great coverage. Coverage is higher on the fairing than factory engine guard, but I wish it were even higher.

Fits on 2016 F700GS too
There is not much listed for the 2016 models yet, but I rolled the dice and bought these for mine. They fit the same as they would for a 2015. I would say these bars offer a decent amount of protection from tip overs and mild spills. If you are looking for something that is more of an extreme off-road bar I'd look at ones that offer an upper and lower assembly like the Altrider or Touratech's. But for under $200, these bars seem to be on par with the SW-Motech and Givi offerings.
Also, the SW-Motech skid plate fits with these bars installed.

Awesome for the price
great product and great coverage for the price nothing else I have seen protects the same area for even close to the price. I also love the 2 mount points way better protection than others I have seen with only a single mount point or has 2 lower mount points.

Looks great, functional, and at half the price of the competition!
I recently purchased a BMW F700GS to do some off-road riding (20% off-road, 80% street) and wanted to purchase some crash bars to protect the bike in case of a fall. I noticed there wasn't much information about all the different options. From what I could find, most crash bars ran in the $300 range and I didn't really like how they looked. They all, however, appeared to be functional in that they would protect the bike as they were designed to do. I decided to take a chance with these Puig bars and I'm glad I did. I think they are the best looking of the bunch and I think they will do a great job protecting the bike.
Installation: I like puzzles and the instructions for mounting these was definitely a puzzle. All of the information was there, but you have to do some measuring and comparisons to figure out which parts go where. Using the process of elimination and some common sense, it wasn't too bad to figure out. My only issue was with the bolt that connects the two bars together. It was a difficult reach and it didn't seem to thread properly no matter what I did. In the end, I was able to secure it nice and tight so all is well.
Finish: At first, I wasn't sure I'd like the powder coated finish since the rest of the bike frame/tubing was glossy black. After a while though, I've grown to love it. It plays off the matte finish of the black plastics and adds just enough contrast to the rest of the bike.
All in all, i'm very happy with them and think they are the best looking of the available options. The weight and thickness of the bars make them seem more than capable of protecting the bike.
