Progressive Suspension 944 Series FST Ultra Shocks For Harley Touring

Specifically designed to deliver a comfortable ride at a lowered stance. Built around Progressive's latest technology, 944 shocks utilize all the suspension travel provided by a taller shock but a lowered ride height. The unique Ultra Touring spring combination not only delivers a lowered ride height while it's being ridden, but also while it's on the side stand.

Features:

  • Frequency Sensing Technology (FST) allows the shocks to sense the frequency of a bump and automatically adjust damping for superior ride quality
  • The Lowered 12" height option lowers the ride height 1" on most standard models and 0" on most stock lowered models
  • The Ultra Low 11" height option lowers the ride height 2" on most standard models and 1" on most stock lowered models
  • Adjust spring pre-load by hand, no special tool needed
  • Progressive Rate Main springs specifically designed for Touring Models - this shock is not made for any other HD product
  • Made in USA

Fitment Notes & Exceptions

  • Shock lengths are measured as they sit installed on the bike, eyelet-to-eyelet on-center
  • Changing ride height may change other attributes of your bike, including trail and mechanical trail
  • A change in ride height at one end of the vehicle usually will require a change at the other end
  • Prior to purchasing shocks that are different than your OEM length, please verify that wheel and suspension travel can be altered without causing clearance issues - common interference spots include swingarm, axle, frame, tire, fender, chain/belt and guard, and exhaust
  • Not for Trike applications

Great shocks! These shocks are great. Installation was a snap. Shocks offer 4 pre-load settings that easily adjusts by hand. I set mine mid way initially. Might need to soften them a bit. Need to keep testing to find that sweet spot. These shocks are 13", but lowers the ride an inch and improves the handling tremendously over the stock air shocks. The price is a little steep. Although, with the improvement of the ride and getting me a lower to the ground without a lowering kit its easy to justify the cost. May 10, 2014

RevZilla Store asked: Why did you choose this?
Darren T: Did some research online to improve the overall handling on my Ultra Classic. Still trying to find the sweet spot when riding with momma on the back. Ride is a little stiff for her. She likes the floating feeling of the Harley shocks. Handles much better. Jul 7, 2014
kevin a: the same ride hight with longer travel plus no air to screw with or leak out May 2, 2014
A shopper asked: I own a 2005 electraglide FLHTCSE2 that have 12" stock shocks. If I install the 944 12" Progressive shocks, will my ride sit 1" lower? I do NOT want it any lower. Thanks Apr 26, 2015

Chris D: I would contact the manufacturer and have a professional answer this. That way you take all us DIY's out of making a mistake. Go to progressives website and get their contact number as I cannot post here. They will be able to advise you correctly. Thanks. May 7, 2015

Marvin L: Yes, your bike will sit 1" lower (compared to stock), but still maintain 3" travel....which is it's claim to fame.

If your looking to go the other way, you will have to go with another model.

Darren T: Yes they will. When I installed them on my '13 Ultra they lowered me about 1/2 to an inch.
Overall they're great shocks. I recommend for a more stable ride.

A shopper asked: While looking at the shock (installed), rotating the shock clockwise increases the spring load? Counter clockwise decreases the spring load? My Indy installed and I didn't get the manual and can't seem to find it online. Nov 16, 2014
Answer this · Send to friends Good question? Yes (0) No (0)
Darren T: Yes that is correct. I find the suspension quite tight even at the softest setting while riding solo. My better half feels the setting is too stiff when we're not loaded down for a long ride.
The handling has improved overall. I recommend installing the monotube cartridge on the front as well. They virtually eliminate the "nose dive effect" that the OEM springs are plagued with.

A shopper asked: what is the difference between regular and heavy duty? What is the load limit before you should go from regular to heavy duty Sep 11, 2014
Answer this · Send to friends Good question? Yes (0) No (0)
Darren T: I use the regular duty shocks and are set on the softest compression on my 2013 Ultra. About 50% of my ride time is 2-up and with momma and I we tip the scales around 300 lbs.
Before purchasing I wrote to Progressive and they recommend if your 250 lbs or less and ride about 50% of time 2-up you should go w/the regular duty shock.
This summer we took a 4300 mile trip up north and out west and even w/the Ultra loaded to the max I still kept the shocks toward the softest setting.
Hope this helps.
Get out there and ride!
