Super convenient I'm all about minimizing connections to the battery. It is very convenient to be able to plug in a battery tender through the Gerbing/Gyde harness. November 16, 2015
Not compatible power This set up was a good idea but this cable does not have a reliable connection. I purchased my first one a while back. It worked for maybe a couple months then the iphone 5s kept saying it was not a supported power source. I thought it was just a bad connection and decided to get another one. (yeah I know, big waste of money. I think revzilla needs to really look at this product and how well it actually works. August 13, 2015
Mixed review so far I'll recommend this product with a caveat - "when" it fails Powerlet will replace it. Over the year I had the first one I used it for one week-long trip and several overnight jaunts and it worked as it should have. About a month ago I plugged my phone in and the cable did not work at first, then it worked for a few minutes, then not, ad nauseam until it quit altogether after I bolted all the bodywork back thus covering the battery. I emailed Powerlet product support asking if they wanted it back to do failure mode testing since I am certainly not the only one to experience a failure. Powerlet asked me when and where I bought it and then sent me a return authorization number and mailing address. Two to three weeks later I got the replacement in the mail. The first one failed completely within the one year warranty: I wrote to Powerlet two days before the actual one year anniversary of purchase. So "when" this one fails I'll stick with the SAE to USB scheme I carry as a backup. May 13, 2015
Worked for a while Same issue with the other reviewer, the product seemed to work fine for a while. After a few weeks, it stopped charging. I first thought it was the fuse so I checked it. The fuse was intact but it seemed like when I removed the fuse and re-inserted it, it started working again (like it reset itself). Of course this is not a convenient solution. As an alternative, I tried to bypass the fuse and put it straight through my PDM60. It worked for a few days then only one side would work (lighting connectors don't have up or down sides - it should work any way you insert it). And then at the end, it stopped working completely and started getting an error message on my phone saying that the accessory is not certified (see attached image). I will go back to having a USB connector straight to my battery and an Apple charger cable to my phone. Hassle but it works. September 4, 2014
Not working after fifth use. I bought this and used it around town to test it, it seemed to do the job just fine. On the first day of a 3600 mile, 10 day cross country ride it failed! Not too happy since my phone was my only source of navigating! September 1, 2014
