Pivot Pegz Mark 3 Pivot Pegs BMW R 1200 GS / Adventure

Pivot Pegz are high performance foot pegs incorporating a unique and precisely tuned, spring loaded pivoting action that allows the foot peg to pivot forward and backward and move with the natural motion of the rider's feet. A computer designed spring holds the peg in its central (neutral) position and provides optimized resistance and shock absorpsion during the pivoting action. When forward or aft pressure is applied, the peg pivots in a smooth and predictable manner. When pressure is released the peg instantly returns to its central position. The spring loaded action of Pivot Pegz also provides valuable force feedback to the rider and assists in returning their feet to the central position.

A pivotal piece of equipment I bought these to replace the Fastway pegs installed by the bike's previous owner. The cleats on the Fastways were chewing up the soles of my boots. I also realized that I had adapted to this and rode with my boots hanging off the cleats, with furthered increased the wear. I don't ride off-road and only stand on the pegs to see traffic up ahead, or to moon a car behind me. The pivoting motion took maybe 2 days of commuting to get used to. I do find that on long trips I sometimes have difficulty finding a comfortable spot to keep my feet. I don't know if that's because of the Pivot Pegz or because I had adapted to the Fastways and the way the divots in my soles clung to the cleats. I did buy the plastic covers available and they have improved my opinion of the Pivots. I don't feel I have any more missed shifts or false neutrals than I did before installing the Pivot Pegz. Oh, and as far as installation goes, I don't recall seeing anything in the well-written instructions informing me that I have to use the OEM pin & circlips on my peg mounts, which you do. So don't lose any parts when you remove the pegs you're replacing. October 20, 2014
Sturdy.. well fitting... Nice pegs... comfortable.... and is much more noticeable ... comfort wise... I can feel the difference with my feet....the pivot action makes a real difference.... October 13, 2014
Great comfort and control I put them on up side down to get a little more seat to peg length. My only complaint is my feet hang off the outer edge a bit. They could be an inch longer. I love the extra comfort standing and the ease of using the foot controls. September 15, 2014
PPMK3 does what it says The MK3 version of the Pivot Pegs are a very comfortable upgrade for those who stand a lot while riding. Installation was quick and easy (about 15 minutes on my GSA) to remove the stock pegs and put these on using simple hand tools. Make sure you put the spacer on the below the peg during installation, otherwise the pegs will be about 3/8" lower than stock. I used a small screwdriver to keep stuff lined up then pushed the pin through while pulling the screwdriver out. It's simple once you take a look at it. Wear proper riding (preferably off-road MX) boots. The gripping tines do their job and regular sneakers or sandals will be scarred beyond repair. Plus there is the possibility of taking your foot off the peg and scraping your shin/calf if not protected. No real danger here, your feet won't slip while on the peg, just be aware. Shifting and braking while standing is much easier with the new pegs installed. The pivot also allows you to stretch your calves and reduce fatigue while riding. You don't realize how much you are fighting your stock pegs until you give the PP's a try. Only downside is price. They are pricy, and this is why I gave them 4 out of 5 on "bang for the buck". My view is that I'm willing to spend the $$ on a quality product. To help with the price Revzilla gave me $5 off along with free shipping. Big thanks to them for that. This is the second bike that I have put these on and I will not own another without them installed. High quality product. Have two friends who have switched to them recently after a test spin on my bike. Highly recommended product. September 1, 2014
Great I was nervous about the pivot but after ten minutes of riding I didn't even notice the pivot. The pegs are great! They are very wide and fit your foot perfectly. They pivot with your foot and fit great. June 16, 2014
Great Pegz I expected that I would have to get used to these Pegz. But that was not the case the feel is surprisingly subtle but definitely better. Control and braking while standing is improved. Also I can wear any of my boots and no longer need to readjust the gear shift lever. I really like these Pegz! April 14, 2014
Easy install, wide platform, great for standing, The pivot pegs were an easy install on my 1200GS ADV. They are a quality product. I really like them when I am standing, the pivot and wider platform make it easier to shift your weight around. Still getting used to them when sitting. Sometimes not having a firm platform is a bit distracting. The Pivot Pegs are made out of steel and to me, seem to allow more vibration through to my boot than the stock alloy pegs. July 8, 2013
Number 1 upgrade for the R1200GS!!! Comfort and stability while riding are key elements to safety and overall enjoyment of riding. These foot pegs are by far the most comfortable and stable I have ever used. Installed in 10 minutes the are as painless to install as they were to buy. Thanks Revzilla. June 10, 2013

A S asked: do these pegs provide any lowering capabilities? Nov 17, 2013

Jon C: According to the Pegz guys you can lower them up to 10mm just by switching the L and R pegs to the opposite side. Instructions can be found here: www bmwtcnsw org/club/wp-content/uploads/2012/08/Lowering-Instructions pdf Nov 18, 2013

Eugene F: No. They add a wider, pivoting surface pretty much at stock height. Nov 17, 2013

Andrew S: Not with my KLR 650. Different mounting brackets would be required to lower them. Consider what lowering would do to the function of the shift lever and rear brake. I like the pivot pegs for dual sport riding, but would like a thin cover for the teeth when riding street with many starts and stops. Nov 25, 2013

Dan M: You can get Pivot Pegz Toppers for that exact purpose, and they look pretty cool too!

Reid D: I replaced stock with pivots on my klr650. They attached identically to my existing 2 inch lowering brackets. I use scarpa boots that have a big toebox and the pivots work flawlessly. They are not any lower than stock, and provide no lowering capabilities in of themselves. They are excellent if you use a variety of boots or let others ride your bike. I also highly recommend them for anyone with big feet. Nov 18, 2013
