Pivot Pegz Mark 3 Pivot Pegs for Triumph Tiger 800XC
Pivot Pegz are high performance foot pegs incorporating a unique and precisely tuned, spring loaded pivoting action that allows the foot peg to pivot forward and backward and move with the natural motion of the rider's feet. A computer designed spring holds the peg in its central (neutral) position and provides optimized resistance and shock absorpsion during the pivoting action. When forward or aft pressure is applied, the peg pivots in a smooth and predictable manner. When pressure is released the peg instantly returns to its central position. The spring loaded action of Pivot Pegz also provides valuable force feedback to the rider and assists in returning their feet to the central position.

I bought these pegs this summer as it was time to get rid of the thin stock pegs on my Triumph 800XC. I was sick of sore feet and wanted something wider. The install was fairly easy. The only difficulty came in hooking the return spring. It took a few curse-ridden attempts but then I was able to get it in the hole and on the pedal at the same time. Riding with them takes a little getting used to. Not that it is difficult, but I think that you almost have to shift your weight a little more front or back when climbing or descending to find the balance sweet spot that allows you to properly brace against them. I did find that my calves were sore after using them. Not a big deal and I am sure I'll get used to them. Where I don't think they make a big improvement is in the wideness "feeling". Since they pivot on an axle, I think you lose the wide platform feeling. Technically the only solid point under your foot is the axle. So they don't necessarily cure sore feet. I won't get rid of them, but I'm not sure they are for everyone.

Pegs were extremely easy to install, only hassle at all was on the right side I had to loosen the brake lever or something (I forget what), it was no big deal. The pivoting feature is so natural that on my first ride out I forgot about them until about 30 minutes into the ride, then I realized how nice they really are. Wide platform is great. Much better than the stock pegs. BTW I installed these on my 2014 Tiger 800 XC, the posted literature only shows them through the 2012 model year.

Robert G:I really can't say if they would fit a Scrambler - I put them on my 2014 Tiger XC and they are great; but these are two very different bikes. I would call a Triumph dealer parts department and ask them if you can swap pegs between a Tiger and a Scrambler. Good luck! Jun 4, 2015

Robert G:These Pivot Pegz are great in my opinion, it's your call whether they fit aesthetically for your custom build. As far as a mechanical fit, in my experience essentially all footpegs use a similar mounting approach, with a boxed in C-shaped mount welded to the frame at a certain width and angle to which the footpegs are designed to fit just right. Your '72 steed may have slightly different mount width and/or angle, but your custom builder can undoubtedly re-form things to fit. These are probably as good a modern footpeg to potentially fit closely to your old Tiger as any other. Good luck!Dec 19, 2014
