They do exactly what they're supposed to do I chose the black Delrin spools because I'm not sure how well the anodized ones would resist scratches when lifting with the rear stand. These do the job well and aren't an eyesore on my black frame - just as I was hoping. August 27, 2015
Get other spools The spools are way too small anD if your swing arm is close to your spool then watch out. I immediately scratched my swingarm. They need to include some spacers or make them longer. I put my Evotechs back on, problem solved. June 29, 2015
Nice color and super easy to install. I'm quite happy with the fit and finish of the spools. They installed super easy (use Loctite!) work as advertised. The blue anodizing will wear away with use, but I expected that to be the case. If this set ever wears out I will be sure to get the same brand for replacements. June 22, 2015
Great price and shows off your bike. I purchased these spools (in gold) to securely lift my bike up. The color made my swing arm pop and it also added a little protection. To install clean the bolt and thread on the bike with some rubbing alcohol to remove dirt and grime. Then apply a small amount of loctite to the bolt and it will be secure. April 21, 2015
Great spools, small and strong, nice color selection Replaced some spools that vibrated their way out (different brand) -- These Pit Bull spools work great with the Pit Bull stand (although I can see them working just fine with any stand) I like the modular design where the barrel part of the spool itself is separate from the bolt holing it in (in case it were stripped and needed to be replaced.) ONE WORD OF ADVICE: Use some thread-locker glue to keep the spools in so you don't lose them the way I did ;) April 13, 2015
Great buy! Good product! Fit well, easy to install, built solid! I would recommend these as a good match to the Pit Bull Stands! March 16, 2015
fantastic color This fit like a glove. Not only that but the color on the spool is super bright. February 16, 2015
Great spool set I guess there isn't much to a spool set, but PitBull have done a good job with these. Nicely made, good price, work well - what more do you want? February 2, 2015

A shopper asked: Is using some kind of Loctite a must? Or can I just screw these on my bike and be done with it? If Loctite is a must then how do I apply? May 13, 2014

Jose A: I simply screwed these on my bike and I have not had any issues. I usually keep my bike on a pit bull stand 6 days out of the week. I ride a 2012 CBR 1000RR and I check my bike regularity before riding. They do not seem to come loose over time. May 13, 2014

Timothy M: You could technically just screw them in however due to vibration it is recommended that you use blue loctite. Simply squeeze a small amount on threads of spool before screwing onto the bike. May 13, 2014

Nick Q: Using Loctite is always a good idea. Just go to your local hardware/parts store and get a small tube. Apply a couple of drops on the bolt and then screw it in. May 14, 2014

Giuseppe S: I didn't use Loctite. No problems yet. Just put a couple drops on the threaded area and screw them in. May 13, 2014

Jennifer V: I would highly recommend using the locktite - it keeps everything in place where it should be whereas without its use, things can slowly work loose over time (especially if you are putting the bike on stands quite often). To use locktite, simply apply a strip along the length of the bolt threads which will engage the swingarm mounting holes and torque the spool bolts to recommended specs. Hope this helps! May 14, 2014

A shopper asked: What size spool do I need with a Yamaha FZ6R (not fz6)? Sep 23, 2013
Answer this · Send to friends Good question? Yes (0) No (0)
Frank T: Based on Yamaha's and Pit Bull's websites, the FZ6R does not have any facility for spools. You could utilize stands that lift by the swingarm and fork bottom. Sep 23, 2013
