Great tire, highly recommended
I've had these tires on both my '09 Kawasaki ER-6N and '09 Ducati Monster 1100 and was very satisfied with them.

They have a lot of grip and good feedback on the road. They warm up quickly and behave very well even if cold. Could never catch a fault on them.

In wet conditions they perform very well. On track they perform well however they do not warm up as quickly and the grip has his limits in comparison with real sports/race tires.

Thread wear is very good, they don't square off and they last long (>90000 km with a rear tire).

Recommend this tire to anyone who rides his sportsbike/touring/naked on the streets and is looking for a tire with good mileage and good handling/grip charasteristics, even when riding hard.

Great in all situations
The Angel ST is an amazing tire, especially with my little SV650. I'm on my second rear after only 3000 miles, but that was no fault of the tire. There was an evil bolt in a curve that decided to cut the life of the tire short. The front tire is sitting at 4000 miles and it didn't wear through the angel design until close to 1200 miles. In most situations I'm able to handle wet road conditions like taking turns when it's dry on lesser tires. Don't let the taboo of a "sport touring" tire scare you away on this one. I've tried multiple other tires that simply did not hold up to wear of an every day rider that puts on more than 40k miles a year. The Pirelli Angel St tires are more than capable of handling whatever is thrown at them on the street... except maybe bolts. But that's the kryptonite of all tires.

Fantastic tire
I first tried these on Kawasaki 09' ZX6R, handled better than BT-016 & 2ct's. Also, I've achieved over 3,000 miles and they still look like another 1,500 before reaching tabs in center. I maintain 36/42 f & r p.s.i. I ride very hard in very twisty roads in TN mountains. Never a slip, and again great handling. I chose these tires to replace my factory tires on my much larger 2011 Kawasaki Concourse. Again great handling, and even wear. Mileage looks like I'll achieve about the same as factory tires, but with much better handling ( C-14 are just plain heavy bikes ). Will continue to use this tire, till Pirelli makes a generation update. Highly recommend this tire!

Lovely handling and superb wet and dry grip!
I switched from Pirelli Diablo Rossos, which I love, but am riding more commuter miles in all kinds of weather and am trying the Angels hoping for substantially longer tire life with minimum sacrifice to aggressive cornering performance and an increase in wet weather performance. After 500 miles on front and rear Angels (180/55/17) on my 2002 BMW R1100s I am VERY pleased. The wet and dry grip are excellent and the cornering feel is on par with that of the Rossos: neutral and light feel, very sure footed, secure handling, confidence inspiring grip. Will check in down the road and let you all know how they wear. I typically get 4K to 6K from the Rossos. Am hoping the dual compound design of the Angels gets me double that. We'll see.

This tire was OEM on my Moto Guzzi V7 and lasted 12K miles (till smooth in the center) during freeway commuting in a wet Seattle. You can bet I'm replacing it with the same.

Great grip...Inspires confidence.
Great tire. Compared to the OEM tire on the 2011 ZX14, this tire roll better and I feel better connected to the road. Making sharp, deep turns is very easy with this tire. Grip is excellent. As far as longevity, I don't know yet. I have had this tire for only about 500 miles.

Awesome!
I love this tire. I like the idea of the tire having two different steel belts in the carcass instead of two different rubber compounds on the tire. The tire handles amazingly well in dry situations. I live in Arizona, so wet performance will have to wait for quite awhile to critique. Pirelli is the parent company of Metzeler and the tire technology on the Metzeler Roadtec Interact (Z6 & Z8) are the same as the Pirelli ST. Only the tire tread is different. I have the Metzeler Z6 interact on the front, and the Angel ST on the rear, and the handling is amazing for a BMW R1200RT. I am sure the tire life will exceed my expectations.

Rear OEM on my Trophy SE is starting to wear down at 5300 miles. Was thinking Michelin PR4 or Pirelli Angel GT but can't beat the price on the ST. Hoping the new rear will wear out with the original front.

I have used Metzeler Z6, Dunlop Road Smart, Michelin PR3, and Pirelli Angel ST on my Sport Touring Motorcycle...the Pirelli Angel ST was by far the most consistent throughout its 6K Miles and always stable as the Rock of Gibraltar when hanging off in swervery.

I've been looking for a versatile tire for my 90 VX 800. And this product delivers. This is the second pair I'm putting on. I got two good seasons of solid riding all over Wisconsin. And the price on Revzilla couldn't be beat.

I bought these tires for the use of commuting on my CBR 600rr. I replaced my old unrounded tires with these and it felt like a whole new motorcycle. It sticks to the ground. The tires look great!!! I have close to 500 miles on these babies and i am very happy with my purchase. My other motorcycle is going to get the GT model of these because they are the dual compound.

Has great grip for wet/dry roads in western NY. Long lasting tire. Bought a 2002 VFR800 used with the Pirelli Angel tires and put over 5000 miles on them.

Grippy enough for fun in the twisties, but also long lasting, and great in the rain. Wouldn't take them on a track day

Hi,

I ride a 2012 Ninja 650. It comes with stock Dunlop Roadsmart II tyres which have performed well but are on their last legs now. I was considering replacing them with the Pirelli Angel STs.

I have a separate set of Metzeler Sportec M5s which I use for the trackdays so this new set is strictly for street use with the usual Sunday Canyon riding thrown in. The Dunlops have performed well so far with good grip. My apprehension is that the Angel STs are a single compound tyre unlike the Dunlops which are dual compound.

What is your review of the Angel ST vis-a-vis the Dunlop Roadsmart IIs for street / sport-touring use?

My only experience so far have been the Dunlops so need to know how these fare against them.

BEST ANSWER: I ride Kawasaki Concourse C-14 and switched to Angels after OEM's lasted 3,500. I regularly get 6,000 on a set, with 80% on twisties (NC/TN border). That's on 700 lb. bike. Never a slip or abnormal situation of aggressive riding. So I slipped a set on my ZX6R 09' ninja 180/ vs. the 190's on C-14. Under hard riding and NO issues, I achieved 4,500 miles vs. the 2,000 on BT016's and 2CT's. I've also worked in tire development for Bridgestone for over 23 years. Yet I prefer the Pirelli's on my bikes, why... they work and work well. Multi compounds have a use, primarily for extended tire mileage and specific grip on DOT tires for track use. Also it's great marketing,.... The Angels will grip, grip, grip. Remember run the recommended pressure, tire belts and sidewall/bead construction is all designed to deliver that good grip and safety for a reason. Lower pressures are Ok for DOT slicks and a slight lowering on barely street legal tires for tracks. On the highway, tires are constructed completely different to provide aggressive performance with abnormal surface characteristics built in. I just wish Pirelli would build some 180/70-16's for my heavy V-twin bagger. I also have switched to Pirelli's on my KTM 690. Hope I've been of some help.
Is anyone using these on a sport bike? If so. What type of mileage are you getting?...and are they stable in the rain?
Darrell M on Mar 24, 2015
BEST ANSWER: I have run through 3 sets of these tires todate and have found them to be good for my bike. I run a 2010 K1300S with 50,000 miles on it and normally get about 5 - 6,000 miles to each tire. As the tire wears, I enjoy the fact that the turn-in stays consistant and even with a flat center because of excessive high speed runs, the tire still inspires confidence in its performance. Toured through many a rainy trips and also felt good in the worst of conditions. I fully intend to buy one (or more)again this year. Hope this helps.
what is the speed rating on this tire ???
