Jacket Size Guidelines
We suggest you use these size charts as a general guide. Variables in weight distribution and height may alter the appropriate size range indicated. As a general rule Olympia Jackets are designed in America, with an "American" body in mind. As such, you will find that Olympia tend to fit more generously than European brands (such as REV'IT!, Dainese, Alpinestars and Spidi). If you are in between sizes, we recommend to you to err on the smaller side.

Pant Sizing Guidelines
Olympia pants fit true to size. If you intend on using them as over pants, please go one size up.

Inseam Lengths
Olympia pants are cut with generous inseams to accommodate various riding positions. Olympia EZ hem bottoms (can be hemmed up to six inches) and adjustable knee armor help riders achieve a custom fit

Olympia Horizon Rain Pants 4.6 5 81 81
Easy on and bone dry I purchased these pants together with the matching jacket. The construction looks good and is worth the price. I used them in steady rain on I-70 thru the Colorado rockies for about 80 miles, with plenty of spray from traffic. I stayed dry and comfortable underneath. The pants are easy to put on by the side of the road. The unaltered velcro leg closure worked fine with my short legs (I'm 5'6")-- the extra pant length was not a problem. October 24, 2015
Overall Good Rain Pant Good basic rain pant. Easily fits over jeans and boots. Large Leg openings velcro down so there isn't much wind flapping. I have stayed totally dry in them, and they do an nice job on keeping the wind out. Since its a basic wind and rain pant though, don't expect to keep too warm with them if you plan on traveling in the colder months. They don't have any pockets though, or any easy pass through to access your pockets. So, either be prepared to readjust every time you make a stop and have to take a call or fill the tank, or find another place to store your need-easy-access items. Overall, it's a minor inconvenience. One of the main reasons why I bought these pants was for the heat guard on the legs. I bought a cheap pair of rain pants last year for a trip, and my pipes melted them after one ride. These heat guards have held up extremely well. October 21, 2015
Good pants Putting the pants on while having boots on is tough....but I was in a covered situation so took my time....IF trying this...in the open...while rain is falling....different story. I found that the fit to be a little tight...I should have ordered a size larger than normal. October 13, 2015
Basic and works. I'm 5'8" 175 and I ordered the large. When I first tried them on without my boots on they were very long to the point I was thinking of getting them hemmed. Once I put my boots on and tightened the Velcro around the lower half they fit much better. The waist has buckles on the side to tighten as needed. They have a very wide lower part so putting them on with boots should not be an issue. Once you have them on just tighten the lower section with the Velcro and they stay sealed and in place once on the bike. Yes they were still long but that is what you want so they do not slide up on you once you are sitting on the bike and the lower part of your leg is exposed. I have used them twice in moderate rain for a couple of hours each time and they kept me dry. One morning had them on getting ready for the rain we were going to ride into, and actually kept my legs warm because it was a cool start to the day. If you are looking for a fashion statement these are not for you, but if you need a basic set of pants to use for the occasional times you are in the rain they seem to work as advertised. October 5, 2015
excellent product I did alaska trip with a lot of rain and stayed totally dry September 22, 2015
Sizing is way off Overall these pants are priced appropriately for what you are getting. The problem with these pants are the absolutely ridiculous length of the legs. I'm a woman, 5'10" with long legs and a shorter torso, but these pants are AT LEAST 12 inches too long! Based on how these pants are constructed, it is going to be difficult to alter due to the multiple layers and the Velcro placement for adjustability in the lower legs. I kept these pants because I ordered them just before embarking on a long motorcycle trip and didn't have time to look into an alternative and figured looking like a clown was better than getting wet. But I'll end up looking for another pair of rain pants. September 21, 2015
Fit decently and don't melt I bought these to replace a cheap pair of rain pants that melted on my exhaust. The velcro at the bottom let me keep them reasonably tight at the ankles, and the heat-resistant material seems to be doing its job. They leave a decent amount of room to be fitted comfortably above the waist, so there is plenty of overlap with my rain jacket. September 7, 2015
Excellent rain protection for the money I bought these as a cheap alternative to gore-Tex. I cannot be happier with that purchase they've held up excellent and all rain conditions. The airflow is much better than I would've expected for the money. I have not had any leaks during even the heaviest rain. I would highly recommend this product. September 7, 2015

The Olympia Expedition is AMAZING...road in 50 degree rain in the a.m. and 100 degree heat in the afternoon, did both great. William H: I got M/ L for both pants & jacket. I am 5-8 / 180, 34-30 pants. Pants fit OK but too long for my stubby legs, but can be cinched up tight. Jacket fits good. Both fit good over my other full gear. Would be baggy without full gear. Good luck. Apr 27, 2014

Bob C: you had length shortened ? I need same thing ? How did it work with velcro set up ? did you go to regulate seamstress or someone who specializes with this type material ? Oct 27, 2014
Reply to Bob Good answer? Yes (0) No (0)
Steve H: I used the size chart and they fit properly. I did have them shortened because I have a short inseam. They fit over my jeans and boots and look trim. Apr 25, 2014

Louis D: Definitely larger but not tent like. Generally large form over standard gear, a little long in the leg(32") for me in a large, but not unmanageable. Apr 26, 2014

Louis D: Definitely on the largesk end of the fashion. Apr 26, 2014

Barry P: Yes and no.
First of all they're awesome pants, and well designed. They *do* fit according to the size chart (in terms of waist size, and ability to use them as overpants). That being said, they are *WAY* long. However, the design is such that you can bring them to a tailor and hem up to 6" shorter (I took 4" inches off, and they're still long enough to cover everything in a tuck, and they fasten as they're supposed to at the boot, just the same as if they were never hemmed).

Thumbs up on these pants...

Theodore H asked: How's the length? I'm near the high end of the M/L according to the size guide (6'1 - 180) and want to be sure that would be long enough. Hate to size up if it means wearing overly long, ballooning pants. Jan 25, 2014
Answer this · Send to friends Good question? Yes (0) No (0)
Stephen H: Length is good. I'm 6'0 195 lb and was worried when I made the order that they would be too short. But their length is perfect, with a little extra. So I think you at 6'1" 180 should be good. Jan 30, 2014

thomas w: I am 5'11" and wear a 36 x 30 pant. The Horizon pants are very long, almost too long by about 3 - 4 " for me. I don't mind the length because I don't want them to be short or ride-up when riding. The cut of the pants is pretty wide for easy of putting them on while wearing boots, but ballooning may be somewhat of an issue. I "fortunately" haven't needed to wear them as of yet, however I intend to position a Velcro strap or two over the pant to reduce the excess material from flapping because they appear to be a wider cut. There are other brands with a more narrow cut, but you have to remove your boots to put the pant on and in the rain that's not very functional. I do recommend the Horizon rain pants for quality material, craftsmanship and value.

Barry M: I am 5 ft 9 in and weight 175 with a 34 in. waist. The legs are plenty long, probably have at least 3 in. extra. The waist is ok but over jeans and a tucked in shirt the pants could be sized a little bigger in the waist.
Great rain suit as i was in the rain for 10 hours on my way to Texas and did not get a bit wet

Greg P: I think the pants run a little long. I am 5 10, 32 in inseam. Bought the small and they fit good over my regular motorcycle pants that have armor Jan 31, 2014

A shopper asked: question is are they really rain proof ? I have had many rain paints over the years and very few have keep me dry in a extended ride in the rain

Scott P: I have also had bad experiences with gear that says it is rain proof and would always end up leaking after the second or third storm. I ride pretty much everyday in FL so I was able to test them out fairly regularly. In addition, I have taken a few extended trips to the NC mountains and have stayed dry each time. So far, these are the best rain pants I have used. Jan 3, 2014

Answer this · Send to friends Good question? Yes (0) No (0)
thomas w: The opening at the bottom of the rain pant is very generous, so I am able to slip on the pants with my boots on. I wear a size 9.5 - motorcycle boot with a corragated (non-smooth) type sole. The pants are great and I highly recommend them. Sep 9, 2015
Reply to thomas Good answer? Yes (0) No (0)
Alf M: Not familiar with that boot in particular but I have a pair of Sidi's and do not have a problem. You may have to be seated to help maneuver the leg opening over the boot's heel and sole but otherwise you should be fine. Sep 9, 2015

Gary K: Even I at 5"10" find the pants to be a little long, but prefer to just live with it. Once I'm actually seated on the bike, the natural bend of the knees takes up a couple of inches, and then I pull them up to be a little baggy above the knees which doesn't interfere at all with riding. Unless you are very short in height, I'd think this is preferable to altering the pants. If you must, then e-mail Olympia directly and ask for their advice. The owner is very knowledgable. Michael F: Bob, I have a short inseam but did not shorten my rain pants. I found I tend to hike them up under my jacket and also when you are seated the leg bottoms rise a bit anyways. Also depends what you wear for boot protection. Oct 27, 2014

William R: I talked to the boys at Olympia. Mine were long too being a short body. They told me not to hem them. When I used then it made them easier to put on and fit over my boots. Just pulled them tight Oct 27, 2014

clive h: I did not need to alter mine, but I think most alteration shops could make any alterations you might need. Good luck and ride safe! Oct 27, 2014

paule: I ride a Gold Wing that has protective shields over the pipe, never a problem. but on my Harley, you must be careful to keep you legs away for the hot areas. And they do have nomax built in. May 16, 2013

Chih H asked: How small are these pants once stuffed into the EZ-Pack Storage System? Will they be as small as the REV'IT Cyclone H20 Rain Jacket in it's included bag? Jan 21, 2015

Polly L: I love these pants and the versatility they offer. I bought 2x. I don't use the bag much as I prefer to keep them folded flat in my trunk when rain is immanent. When I store them in my saddlebag though I do tuck them away. It is less than a foot long and about 5" in diameter for my size. I hope this helps. Jan 21, 2015
