OGIO Head Case Helmet Bag 4.3 5 7 7
OGIO HEAD CASE Bought this to transport my Arai XD3 helmet on a plane. Overall plenty of room for helmet and extras. Able to pack a couple of tshirts, meds, iPad, headphones, and magazines for flight. Fit under my seat and in overhead bin. Only reason I gave it 4 stars is that I wish it had shoulder strap loops to carry. Other than that very solid bag and protects helmet well. December 1, 2014
Pretty good bag, best I was able to find This is a good bag. The padding inside isn't very thick and certainly won't protect your helmet very well if you dropped it, but it will make sure it's protected toting it around in your car, on the plane, etc. There is a LOT of extra space in the bag. So much so that I feel like I need to add things to the bag (gloves, etc) just to make sure the helmet is secured and not dancing around in there. Exterior pockets are very small, which seems so silly with so much extra interior space. This bag could have been greatly improved by making the exterior pockets expand more into the empty space next to the helmet. If you are looking for a bag that can carry a helmet + gloves + other random stuff next to the helmet, this is a good bet. If you are looking for just a helmet tote, look elsewhere. October 20, 2014
Excellent.... like everything Ogio makes Fits off road helmets perfectly. A little big for street bike helmets but not a problem. Bought 4 of them for my prized Shoie helmets. July 28, 2014
Love it I got this bag so I could take my HJC CJ Max modular helmet on a plane as carry on. It is a BIG helmet XXXL size and it fit no problem. I even had room for gloves, a few extra t-shirts, and all my meds in case my luggage was lost when I changed planes. Tilted sideways it fit in the overhead compartment with no problems. I never even had to use the side pockets. Good buy for the price IMHO. February 17, 2014
This Product has plenty of room. This bag has plenty of room for a full face helmet with room to store spare shields, cleaning rags and other accessories. It has a couple of small outside pockets for storing ear plugs or skull caps. The zipper is protected on the inside so it won't scratch the helmet or shield. It is a bit pricey but I am happy with the purchase and would recommend this helmet bag. July 22, 2013
Great but too big It's a great, very well designed and strong helmet bag. It could fit every helmet that I have (Motocross and Street). But It is very big, really! It's so big that you can easily fit your street helmet and your pants. I managed to fit a street helmet (agv K3) and a jacket (alpine star ns-5, smalll size, with back protector) inside. May 6, 2013
Very nicely made. A well-made bag that's perfect if you're looking for one that can hold a bit more than just a helmet. August 6, 2012

Sean M: Reviewers say that they have used this as a carry-on for airlines Jul 9, 2015
Scott S: To provide additional protection for our helmets while traveling to and from the trail with out ATV. Shoei bags are nice but not any protection other than minor surface scratches. Apr 1, 2015
Richard S: Wanted a large Helmet Bag. Dec 18, 2014
russell w: I purchased this bag to transport my helment back and forth from the track safely. I also liked the reviews that is was oversized so i can haul any extras i might need. May 27, 2014
Stephen H: With frequent trips to the track wanted a way to carry and protect my Arai RXQ Oct 26, 2013
Bobby A: Great for helmet, gloves and helmet accessories. Perfect if you are traveling. Or just storing your helmet in the garage. Sep 14, 2013
A shopper asked: Wonder if anyone has tried carrying this on plane lately. I am told that the airlines have clamped down on carry on luggage and anything over 9 inches wide is not permitted. It has to fit in hat measuring rack thing you see and I doubt the average large sized motorcycle helmet would fit between the bars let alone one that is inside a case. Any one with any experience? Jeff R: I've had success asking a flight attendant very politely and explaining what it is, how important it is, etc. when I first board the plane if there is any room in their coat closet. Out of five trips, only once was I met with resistance.

It is true with a helmet inside it will not fit under the seats even laid on its side. As far as overhead bins, some of the mid to large size planes can hold it in the overhead bins on its side. I carry a Shoei Qwest with three pairs of gloves stuffed in it, ear plug case, extra shield, and Scala Rider accessories, for reference.

Geoff N: I travel with mine a fair bit - haven't had any issue with any US, European or Asian airlines in the last year or so.

On the odd occasion that I've been queried, an explanation that it is expensive, delicate, safety equipment usually gets them to back off.

Vernon G: I've taken helmets on planes in helmet bags and never had a problem. I haven't tried this one yet because I don't fly much lately. If you have the time call your airline and ask them, don't be surprised if they don't know. Feb 15, 2015

Mike L: I carried my Shoei Qwest helmet in the Ogio bag onto a plane in October of 2014 with no problem. I will be doing so again on February 25th. I do not anticipate any problems. Feb 15, 2015

Jim S: I don't fly much buts the bag is smaller than my carry on, so I don't see you would have a problem. If push go's to shoving I would wear it.

John M: No the bag doesn't come with a shoulder strap -- have not missed it. I've used it a couple of times to take my helmet and other miscellaneous items on aircraft and found it's perfect for overhead compartments. Nov 25, 2014

Eric S: Hello - no it does not come with a shoulder strap nor has shoulder strap capability / faseners.

Does have a handle however.

Nice travel bag for the price I think.

Mark A asked: Will this bag work for airline carry-on? Jan 21, 2014
Answer this · Send to friends Good question? Yes (0) No (0)
John H: I haven't tried, but I see no reason why it wouldn't fit in an overhead compartment or worst case under a seat. The bag isn't that big -- a helmet takes up most of the space, although there's enough left over that you can fit SOME clothing, gloves, extra shield etc. Jan 22, 2014

Mike L: While I have not used my bag for a flight, the size is such that it will work fine as a carry on bag. I am very satisfied with this product and recommend it for purchase. Jan 21, 2014
Reply to Mike Good answer? Yes (0) No (0)
A s: Absolutely. It will certainly be treated as a carry-on bag but you will not get away with treating as a "personal item," such as a pocket book or small briefcase. Jan 21, 2014
