Not perfect, but great for the price.
After getting my motorcycle license endorsement last year through a state-sponsored class, I began looking for riding gear well before buying a motorcycle, but had some difficulty finding a helmet to try on that fit.
A friend's Scorpion Exo 400 initially felt good, but caused a hot spot on my forehead after half a hour. Another friend's Shoei felt good in the forehead, but could be rotated side-to side way too easily. I tried on an Arai RX-Q in a local store which felt great, but I wasn't prepared to pay the $600 in-store price before I even had a motorcycle.
Enter the Nolan N85. I tried one on at a local motorcycle shop, and found that it felt pretty good when I tried it on, as well as 30 minutes later. The shape felt pretty close to the Arai RX-Q, which has an "intermediate oval" profile. The padding in the RX-Q felt nicer, but I'd hope you're getting something noticeable for the considerable price difference.
I'm on my second N85 now. My first took an embarrassing fall onto pavement, cracking the visor mount on one side and causing some scuffs. Not knowing whether or not the internal foam was compromised, I purchased another, the peace of mind was worth it for the reasonable price.
The feature set of the N85 is excellent. I like having the internal sun visor, which comes in handy for intermittent cloudy days and when the sun is setting. The helmet is very lightweight for the price (my medium is a claimed 1490g), and the fit and finish is excellent. I do notice distortion of some lights at night through the visor, but the same thing happens with a pair of Oakley shooting glasses that I use as bicycling glasses, so that's not a big deal to me. I could even add Bluetooth if I were so inclined.
The helmet can be a bit loud at highway speeds, but tilting my head forward into a more sportbike-like position seems to quiet things down and reduce turbulence a bit. I have a currently have a Suzuki GS550 with no fairing/windscreen that doesn't get ridden much above 65mph, so if you regularly ride at much higher speeds, your experience may differ from mine in this respect. I'm not sure how much cooling airflow the vents provide; my helmet is white and my head doesn't really sweat all that much to begin with, so your mileage may vary based upon helmet color and personal physiology.
Overall, I'm still satisfied with the N85 a year later. The feature set, weight, fit and finish are pretty tough to beat at this price point.

Nolan makes a great helmet for the money.
I purchased this helmet to replace/supplement my Nolan N102 and have been very happy with it. I spent a lot of time reviewing helmets and landed on this one based upon the recommendations I found on webbikeworld.com and here at ReVzilla. It is light weight and fits well. The interior padding is a bit thin on the top of the head. I actually added a couple of pieces of 3mm padding to the two hot spots I was feeling on the top of my head. Since then, all has been good.

purchased for G/F
Purchased for my girlfriend, she likes the easy rachet system, low wind noise, she very happy with the internal shade.
She hasn't mentioned any pressure points after a couple of days riding with this helmet.
I've got a Nolan 104 and this N85 looks to have better airflow.

Excellent commuter helmet
This helmet is comfy, looks good, has an internal sun visor and good airflow. As far as sizing goes I wear a medium AGV Grid on the track and the medium Nolan is also the perfect fit for me. I tried on some HJC helmets in the store the other day and I was a medium in those too. So I'd say the sizing is inline with the other major brands.

I got the Flat Black, so I like the color. The Pinlock system is very cool. But the film(For the Pinlock) scratches super easy. The vents in the helmet is really easy to operate with gloves on and you can actually feel cool air coming into the helmet. The liner is comfy and soft. The Rachet system, I didn't think I'd like till I actually got on the bike wearing the helmet. Feels fine under my chin. The shields block 98% UV rays which is nice to know. The internal shield is dark smoke which is nice.
My only real beef with this helmet, it that it's extremely loud. This is by far the loudest helmet I've worn. The air is coming up from the bottom and you can hear the air going through the port for the NComm option as well, with the cover installed. My ears are ringing after 30 minutes of riding at 55mph. My Icon Mainframe helmet, doesn't have this issue.
But since the helmet is on the light side and has all the other options that seem to work, I'll just wear my earplugs every time I ride. Looking to get something to muffle the wind from the bottom too.

Great all around helmet used for adventure riding on the street and trails. No complaints, solid, well constructed product.
