Nolan N44 Outlaw Helmet
With a new long range ride, I was looking for a stylish and functional helmet. The N44 fit the need perfectly. The features of the new design are fantastic. Visibility is outstanding with the wide range of view and its venting is very good. I bought the N-com B5 communication system for it as well and its outstanding. If you're looking for an all around helmet that configures to the ride you looking to do, this is the helmet for you.

The best helmet yet
I've been riding for years. I've got a very large head and I've never had a helmet fit properly. Until I bought the Nolan N44 Outlaw. For the money, this is the best you can buy. For the first time ever, I'm comfortable riding for hours and hours...well, my head is anyway. The ventilation is outstanding. It's great in the winter too. Lock down the in-flow, open the exhaust ad the pin-lock....no fog at all, ever. It's just as good as other high-end helmets that cost twice as much. Save your money, buy Nolan.

This helmet is good for the most part but the bad parts are major as far as im concerned. As many others have said the chin strap is the worst thing about this helmet. It really does feel as though you are being choked by something. My other complaint is that when you are using this helmet on the high way (going over 55MPH) this helmet seems to really catch the wind and swing your head around.

Great features, but needs refinement
Extremely versatile and configurable. This is my first non-full-face helmet so it's taken a bit of getting used to.
I ride with the shield on and down, no chinbar, sunshade as needed. The controls are a bit fiddly at first but quickly become easier. Airflow is, of course, phenomenal (which may become an issue when the temperature gets over 95, but for now feels wonderful).
I find the N44 quieter than my full-face lid, with much better coverage over the ears. The eyeport width is better than my peripheral vision.
As others have noted, the chinstrap is very uncomfortable and digs into my neck. I like the concept, it just needs refinement. As it is, I had bought the N44 for an upcoming 1500-mile trip, but I can't see dealing with the strap for that long. I'm also not entirely happy about being locked into the relatively expensive B4 comm unit; as the tech at my local shop said, installing aftermarket comms is incredibly painful.
All in all, I like the N44 for short rides. I'll be sticking with my full face lid for long trips.

Great helmet for city driving, not for highway
Extremely noisy on highway drive (closed or opened)
Can't really drive with the sun screen down and the helmet opened, too much air flowing in your eyes beneath the screen.
Quite heavy compared to other full face helmets (I have a Shoei GT Air which feels much lighter in comparison)
Strong wind resistance due to the size and shape of the helmet.
Nice design and features though, good quality too.

Exact Features I Looked For
As a new rider this was my first and only helmet purchase so far and I have had the helmet for roughly 6 months. Initially I purchased this helmet for the wide sight range and the modular design. I have found my preference is to ride with the full face shield but no jaw. The small vent on the face shield doesn't seem to do much but I also have a windshield on the bike that probably blocks airflow into it. I did have some slight breath fogging issues when I first got the helmet and the mornings were still cold. But in Texas that cold doesn't hold out too long.
What really impressed me about the helmet was the air flow. I don't really have much to compare to as far as noise goes but riding in Texas heat this helmet keeps the air moving so I'm not completely drenched in sweat when I arrive at my destination. Moving at highway speeds with all vents open and faceshield fully closed is comfortable with only occasional wind shake. Moving slower than about 50 and I will crack the faceshield to get a little more air.
One thing I did end up picking up was a micro fleece cover for the rachet band to keep it from rubbing and it worked like a charm.
All in all very satisfied with this helmet!

Love the flexibility
I loved the features and flexibility of this helmet. I was concerned with the comment in the video that it was hard to fit another brand of comm package, not Nolan's own. I had no trouble fitting it with a Cardo Scalo Rider G9. I had to use the stick-on mount along the rim because the helmet has a shelf along and under its rim. The helmet does have cut outs for the speakers. Contrary to the video, I had no trouble removing and replacing the liner to fit the comm unit.
The one con that others have mentioned is that it is very difficult to put the helmet on with the chin guard in place. I cannot do it with glasses on. Without the chin guard, it goes on easily. I find it easier to put the helmet on and then add the chin guard if I want it. The helmet comes with plugs to fill the holes where the chin guard goes if you do not use it.
I was initially discouraged with the fit with the chin guard. I took advantage of Revzilla's return policy and ordered the Scorpion GT3000. I found that the Scorpion did not fit my face as well; the visor hit my nose. I wound up keeping the Nolan 44 instead. It is simply more comfortable for me. And, in the summer, I can wear it open.
Also, the helmet comes with the pin-lock anti fog shield. Do not order one in addition even though it is on the same order page. Once again, Revzilla's return policy cannot be beat.

Great helmet for the money but don't buy the N-Com system to go with it if you want to listed to music
Great helmet especially with the modular feature. Really comfortable etc. Too bad Nolan pairs with the N-Com as it sucks for a bluetooth. Only works for calls, nothing else like music etc. Big investment in time to install the N-Com and try to fix only to have it not work. I bought a Moto bluetooth earpiece from Best Buy to replace the N-Com system and it works great even without the mouthpiece for voice it recognizes voice commands etc and plays my Spotify music.
