Nolan N43E Trilogy Voyage Helmet

6-in-1 design 

The New Nolan N43E Trilogy Helmet is a crossover design with quick-change accessories that allows for customized looks and functions for every ride. The helmet comes with the clear shield, the integrated sun shield, the peak and the removable chinbar. The Lexan chinbar is EPS lined and mounted with strong stainless-steel latches, so it passes the tests for full-face helmets of the European standard ECE-2205.  VPS (Vision Protection System) features a short dark shield mounted on the inside of the helmet which moves independently from the face shield. It provides real eye protection and is also available in amber, light blue and light smoke as an accessory.  The VPS is easily operated by a large rubber coated slider on the left side of the helmet.

  • Quick-change shield is optically correct, UV-400 and fitted in an exceptionally large eyeport accepts the Pinlock antifog insert (not included)  
  • The short black peak can be installed in seconds instead of the clear shield 
  • Ready for the N-Com communication system 
  • Lightweight aerodynamic polycarbonate shell with built-in spoiler for improved stability 
  • Fully removable and washable Clima-Comfort liner is anti-bacterial, anti-fungal and wicking 
  • Super-efficient JSW top vent with exhaust grid in the rear spoiler; works in conjunction with the air  channels along the crown
  • Microlock (adjustable quick-release) retention system 
  • Velour chin-strap padding 
  • 3.6lbs with all accessories
  • Both D.O.T. and ECE certified

I wore this helmet on a four day trip.The fit on the uper head was fine,but the pressure at the ears was intense.The openings for the ears seems to be the wrong shap,at lest for my ears.The lock for the visor is a pain,it seams to be locked when you don't expect it to be.Finding the switch required stoping at the side of the road and removing the helmet to unlock it.I eventully taped it in the unlocked position.This feature is realy not required.The wind noise is mutch lower than my HJC.The sizing is a little on the small side,I bought a large,possibly an xlarge would have been a better fit.I would recomend this product.

Surprised by how light this thing is. The internal sun shield was a big reason for choosing it, and I liked the looks. Really like the strap fastener and the wide front opening. Vents seem OK but not as noticeable as my GMAX. Probably wont remove the chin piece much. Visor has a detente for defog so I don't really use the pin lock feature Seems kind of noisy so wear your ear plugs. It fit me correctly using the sizing chart.

This is a great product. I love the integrated sun visor and its easy access, and I'm told it looks cool also.
The helmet's styling is attractive to the eye and it allows from increased visibility on the road (I have the yellow black model).
Just a great all around helmet.

I've been looking for a helmet to replace my old Modular Nolan N102 for a while, but couldn't find anything that would be light and practical. When I saw the Nolan N43 Trilogy last year I knew this was it. When I was ready to buy the Nolan, N43E Trilogy came out and I went for it, after seeing improvements over the previous model. I have the helmet for a month now and rode in it in cold conditions. To my surprise, I thought it was a warm weather helmet, I felt comfortable and the chin curtain actually worked well protecting me from the wind going up to my face. Another surprise was that it is pretty quiet! It doesn't feel like an open face helmet, unless the lower chin bar is off, it feels like a normal helmet. Main main pluses with it that it is light and the vision is very wide and that's a safety feature on it's own, especially in urban setting. I'm a fan of Nolan, this is my third Nolan helmet, and I love their innovations. This helmet is in the league of it's own and it works for me so far.

Purchased this helmet a few weeks ago, I tried it on after it arrived and I thought that perhaps I wasn't going to like it. It felt so much different than my other helmet (which is a great helmet) that I've been using for the past 6 months. I thought of returning it since it just didn't feel exactly "right" while wearing it in the house. However, I decided to keep it and therefore took it for a test ride, and subsequently, other rides since then. As it turns out, the helmet has demonstrated to be a great helmet on the road.
Pros: 1) Very good peripheral vision—I can turn my head 90 degrees and use peripheral vision to see what’s behind me without my vision being obstructed by the helmet;
2) Well balanced during ride at all speeds, including highway speeds. No bad buffeting or related concerns;
3) Traffic sounds from the forward sector of the helmet are relatively low to normal/moderate. Traffic sounds from the right and left rear sectors of the helmet are more pronounced. I don’t know that the manufacture intentionally designed this characteristic into the helmet, however, I personally like it as it allows a margin of safety by giving sound input to the rider, especially the sounds of traffic in the right and left rear quadrants;
4) Plenty of air venting. Clean design, one-piece air-vent/switch. For me, having one switch to open or close during riding is easier than trying to adjust several of them. There seems to be plenty of ventilation in the helmet, even with the vent closed;
5) Built-in sun visor;
6) Came with anti-fog pin-lock system.
7) Easy chin bar removal for conversion to ¾ style helmet.
I have not installed the pin-lock system yet since ventilation is plenty and temps in the Mid-Atlantic region have been moderate, therefore no real fogging issues thus far.
Cons: The interior liner squeaks a bit when it rubs on the helmets interior. It’s not noticeable while riding, but that’s part of the reason why I thought that I didn’t like the helmet at first.
Conclusion: I’m glad I didn’t send the helmet back. I’m sure it will get frequent use in the days to come.
