The New Nolan N43E Trilogy Helmet is a crossover design with quick-change accessories that allows for customized looks and functions for every ride. The helmet comes with the clear shield, the integrated sun shield, the peak and the removable chinbar. It provides real eye protection and is also available in amber, light blue and light smoke as an accessory. The VPS is easily operated by a large rubber coated slider on the left side of the Nolan N43.
Quick-change shield is optically correct, UV-400 and fitted in an exceptionally large eyeport

A shopper asked:I understand there is no D ringon the N43E Trilogy? How can it be locked to the motorcycle? Thanks.Oct 31, 2011
sdwindansea:Actually you can lock the helmet. There are several different places (including Nolan) that sell what looks like a t-bar that slides through the microlock female ratchet and can then be attached to your bike. Here is one such example: http://www.airrider.com/product_p/07-22.htmNov 14, 2011
RDalt:You can add a D-ring to the strap. Buy one from Lowes or similar and install it between the ratchet and the helmet. This will cost you about a dollar vs 7+ for a T-bar. I did this with my N90 and it worked just fine.Apr 11, 2012
A shopper asked:Is the Harley Headset compatible with the Trilogy Helmet? Will the exterior Microphone mount on the side of the helmet without modifications? This is for a 2014 Harley Ultra Classic LimitedOct 8, 2013
W Jeremy D:I love the helmet, but the comm mic doesn't work--even though it is advertised to be compatible with H-D. The ear phones do work, though, and everything physically fits well--much better than the H-D screw-on mic arrangement. But it still doesn't work, so......... I put 1300 miles on a 2014 Limited the week the '14s were released and love the bike. But forget about the Nolan comm.Oct 8, 2013
Daniel M:There is a hard plastic trim piece around the bottom of the neck roll that prevents the headset clamp from working as intended. However, it is just trim and you can cut a notch in it with an Xacto knife without impacting the integrity of the helmet. The clamp fits fine after that.Oct 9, 2013
Mark H:I have no idea but I was wearing this helmet when I was knocked off of my bike at 60 miles and hour and landed on my head with a 200 pound deer on top of me and survived. Makes intercom seem less important.Oct 9, 2013
I purchased this helmet a year ago and I'm very happy with it. The visor comes with the helmet. The visor is something I never thought I'd use, but I found myself using it almost all summer. Good Luck.
Noel E:Thanks to all those who gave their input on the Nolan N43E Trilogy helmet. Purchased it. It arrived and rode with it yesterday. It was great. I love the different modes it can be configured to. Next purchase will be the Bluetooth kit.Sep 21, 2013
Clayton C:The flip down, dark, visor is included with the helmet. I've had this helmet for over a year. The "peak" visor was also included for when you convert the helmet to a 3/4 style. Very easy to swap back and forth.Sep 17, 2013
Timothy S:Hello Noel ,
My N43 came with a visor and I purchased the smoked visor also the sun can be pretty intense with that much shield.
I do like the N43, anymore questions feel free to ask
TimSep 17, 2013
william k:Yes, it has a small insert that is held in by plastic pins in the shield. This system works very well from fogging. Also the inserts can be purchased with different color lens, if you would like. I have the yellow one which works well on a cloudy day.Oct 19, 2013
Simon L:The visor includes the mount points for "pinlock" antifog inserts. Google pinlock to get more info on the appropriate insert. It looks a lot like a tear off for the inside but it works totally differently.Oct 19, 2013
A shopper asked:I an right between the large and extra large sizing.....I have an hjc 3/4 helmet now and its an extra large....my head measure 23 1/2.... I have a med to broad face which size would you recommend ?Sep 9, 2013
Donald M:Very comfortable and light helmet. I have the exact same problem as you. I am at 23 1/8 and XL helmets are too big and some L are too small. I bought this same helmet in a L and it fits very well. You can also tweak it a bit in some places by easily removing the liner and carving or sanding out the tight spots from the hard foam inside the shell. Very easy to do if you need to. You can even press out those "high" spots of the inner foam to flatten them out if that's all you need. Best helmet I ever owned - had a HJC as well - in XL, a huge looking thing and was loose in a very short time. Didn't like it. You'll love this helmet for it's light weight and comfort. It's a great buy as well. Love the shape and overall size, it won't give you that big head look. Go for the Large and enjoy it as I do.Sep 18, 2013
Lenny K:I hope I can help, but helmet sizing questions are always difficult because of different head shapes and differences in what riders deem as a comfortable, correct fit. It is my opinion that Nolan helmets tend to run a little small. The N43E Trilogy is my 3rd Nolan and in each case I went with the Medium size. When I measure my head circumference, and check the size chart, I come out at the upper end of the Small size. Also, my head shape is not the ideal shape for a Nolan helment - my head shape is similar to Anthony's - except maybe a little more towards round/oval. That may be the reason I find the medium more comfortable than the small. As for comfort, the 43E fells snug enough yet there are no uncomfortable pressure points, and I love the weight versus the N90 that it replaced. All the reviews I read prior to purchase proved to be fairly accurate in terms of good points...versality, weight, side and rear vision, but I do get more wind noise in open face configuration - slightly improved when I attach the chin bar. I have ample room between my chin and the bar. I rate the venting slightly above average. One issue I have is that in the face mask 'up one click' position, the fog shield bottom line falls in the middle of my sight line. All in all i am very pleased with the purchase.Sep 18, 2013
Thomas H:Had a similar issue. Choose the large and found that with time it loosened up. I did take some sandpaper to a few highs spots around where the speakers for my Scala rider fit; but nothing major. I ride with glasses and I am able to slide them on and off with ease. I like the flexibility of riding with or without a chin bar; althoughI recently saw what happened when a rider makes a face plant and have decided to ride with the chin bar. Also I like being able to remove the face shield and ride with a visor and the chin guard. Less confining. When in rain, i put the face plate back on. It takes less than 2 min. to make that change. I also purchased one for my wife, who loves hers.Sep 18, 2013
Ed W:My head size is slightly larger than 23 inches. I have the extra large N43 and that fits perfectly. I even have a little space left over after it loosened up a little bit, which I like. It's tends to fit a round face and head better than the old Nolan's did that's why was able to use the Nolan. I am extremely happy with this helmets fit, finish, and feel.Sep 18, 2013
A shopper asked:Hi. I've been looking for the Nolan N43E Trilogy helmet in the UK as it exactly what I;m looking for in a Helmet. I realise that it is DOT and ECE (in Europe) qualified, but in the UK the below rules apply. Doe this helmet qualify for the below?
All helmets sold in the UK must either:
meet British Standard BS 6658:1985 and carry the BSI Kitemark meet UNECE Regulation 22.05 meet a European Economic Area member standard offering at least the same safety and protection as BS 6658:1985, and carry a mark equivalent to the BSI KitemarkAug 18, 2013
Stevan P:The pivot locking kit is the mechanism that keeps the shield in place. There is a flip up lever that needs to be dis-engaged before removing the shield as opposed to just a threaded dial.Oct 20, 2011
Brent65:I mounted my SMH-10 without difficulty. I made two small cuts to the helmet gasket (around the bottom) 1 to allow the clamp to slip up under the liner and 2 to allow for the boom to come inside the helmet. If you google search Nolan 43 with Sena, you will see photos from a Goldwing rider showing the install. Good luck, my install went seamless.Sep 4, 2012
RevZilla:Yes, the Sena SMH5 will be compatible with the Nolan N43E Helmet but only if you use the sticky part, not the clamp system. The reason for that is that the bottom neck part of the helmet is curved towards the inside of the helmet, and does not allow to install the clamp system without having to cut through that plastic part.Jul 17, 2012
RevZilla:The Nolan N43E Trilogy and the older Nolan N43 Trilogy do have interchangeable chin bars. The "E" model chin bar will provide the rider with more room in the chin area, and it also includes a chin curtain. On a related note, the N43E and the older N43 do not have slots to accept a chin bar, and cannot be retrofitted with a chin bar from either of the "Trilogy" helmets.Jan 29, 2013
