Nolan N43E Trilogy Outlaw Helmet

New Features:

  • New: Chinbar is extended for extra room and now can accept included chin curtain
  • New: Face shield now has intermediate open position, previous version was either opened or closed
  • New: locking pivot kit

6-in-1 design

The New Nolan N43E Trilogy Helmet is a crossover design with quick-change accessories that allows for customized looks and functions for every ride. The helmet comes with the clear shield, the integrated sun shield, the peak and the removable chinbar. The Lexan chinbar is EPS lined and mounted with strong stainless-steel latches, so it passes the tests for full-face helmets of the European standard ECE-2205.  VPS (Vision Protection System) features a short dark shield mounted on the inside of the helmet which moves independently from the face shield. It provides real eye protection and is also available in amber, light blue and light smoke as an accessory.  The VPS is easily operated by a large rubber coated slider on the left side of the helmet.

  • Quick-change shield is optically correct, UV-400 and fitted in an exceptionally large eyeport
  • Includes a Pinlock antifog insert
  • The short black peak can be installed in seconds instead of the clear shield
  • Ready for the N-Com communication system
  • Lightweight aerodynamic polycarbonate shell with built-in spoiler for improved stability
  • Fully removable and washable Clima-Comfort liner is anti-bacterial, anti-fungal and wicking
  • Super-efficient JSW top vent with exhaust grid in the rear spoiler; works in conjunction with the air  channels along the crown
  • Microlock (adjustable quick-release) retention system
  • Velour chin-strap padding
  • 3.6lbs with all accessories
  • DOT certified

Notes: Trilogy Solid, Trilogy Outlaw and Trilogy Voyage Helmets are identical except for the paint or graphics. "Outlaw" versions of Nolan Helmets have a sleeker look with more subtle Nolan logos. Though this helmet passes ECE testing in Europe, in the US it is DOT Approved only.

Many great features that I was looking for. I had seen this helmet on others and liked the look and features. A friend purchased one and was very pleased. I now have two for my rider and myself and we both find them to be very comfortable. The removable chin piece and flip down visor are perfect for me as I am used to having just a 1/2 helmet and nothing over my face. February 3, 2014
Great except minor fogging. The fit, finish, comfort, style and function of this helmet is great, but the only problem is the fogging that occurs when i'm at a light in the morning. I tried an anti-fog spray and didn't help. So my resolution was just to lift up the shield while at a light. No biggie... January 28, 2014
GOOD VALUE PURCHASE A good value for the money lid, comfortable and versatile. The chinstrap latch is a leap forward and the flexible format provide the helmet for any conditions. January 21, 2014
Good features Good helmet, with great features, can use in cold and warm weather. January 2, 2014
Great helmet I needed an upgrade and wanted to be able to customize my helmet. This is great. Many options to choose from. Pros: Comfortable, wide range of sight, anti fog insert actually works great, air flow is awesome, style is great Cons: Can't lock it up without buying something and internal dark shield is useless. Great helmet at great price! Highly recommend! August 13, 2013
You want this helmet! This helmet offers way more than you expect. It's lightweight, the field of view is extremely wide, you can wear it as a 3/4 helmet, with or without the shield, add the visor, or run it as a full-face, again, with the shield or visor. I am very happy with this helmet! July 29, 2013
Great Fit for me but WOW is it LOUD!! My wife and I bought matching N43E's so that we could use the built-in N-com system (reviewed elsewhere). I bought the Trilogy model because I wanted the chin bar. The helmet is the perfect shape for my big head but, unfortunately, my strong chin is just too much for the chin bar so I have to ride without it. I can't stress enough thought that the fit in all other aspects is fantastic. Why I didn't rate this helmet higher is because it is extremely LOUD at highway speeds. With or without my fairing this helmet is really loud. It's too the point where it even overwhelms the N-com system. This is also my first plastic helmet so that might have something to do with it. Even my half helmet is quieter than the N43E. July 19, 2013
I would highly recommend this helmet. This helmet fits me perfectly. This is the second of these helmets that I have had. First one was damaged in an accident. I have worn other helmets and this one fits me the best. I like the way the clear shield works on this helmet. I personally like riding with the shield. I shopped around for helmets and am sure that I made the right decision. July 1, 2013

RevZilla Store asked: Why did you choose this?
Robert S: Modular design and features! Feb 18, 2014
Steve H: This model helmet is the most functional I have used. I ride over 25,000 miles a year and have found that this helmet is comfortable under all conditions. The shape is low profile and keeps the helmet balanced on your head. This one is a gift to a friend. I have purchased an extra one for myself since the new N44 has changed the shape and weight. Francisco H asked: - Can a Cardo Scala intercom like Q1 or G9 be installed on this helmet ?
- Are the cheekpads and interior liner removable for washing ?
Aug 25, 2013

Brian M: I'm not sure about intercom compatibility. Yes, liners can be removed to be washed. I love the features on this helmet and the different ways you can wear it. It is versatile. The big face opening makes for great visibility. The strap is convenient to snap togeher BUT hard and VERY uncomfortable as it rests right on my Adam's apple. Sunshade doesn't come down far enough but I prefer sunglasses anyway. Overall I like the helmet. Aug 26, 2013

Curt R: I installed a chatterbox in mine and had no problems at all. I believe the cheek pads do come out as does the rest of the liner. Aug 26, 2013

A shopper asked: What is/are the difference/s between the Nolan N43E Trilogy and the N43E Trilogy Outlaw helmets? Nov 27, 2012
Answer this · Send to friends Good question? Yes (0) No (0)
RevZilla: We had both versions of the N43E in our Philadelphia warehouse, so we were able to do a comparison. The only difference between the two is that the Outlaw version has a graphic across the forehead of the helmet instead of Nolan lettering like the solid version. Nov 28, 2012

DScar1020: The outlaw version doesn't have the traditional Nolan logos. It still has a logo on the front top, but it is small and very subdued. I think the outlaw version has different color schemes as well. May 6, 2013

aaron j: My Nolan helmet was stolen so I can't say directly; however, most BMW motorcycle dealers carry the brand, which is where I tried the model on before purchasing from Revzilla. Jan 10, 2014

A shopper asked: I have a med oval head shape measuring 22.5 inches, will a med helmet fit correctly or should i go to a large? Feb 15, 2012
Answer this · Send to friends Good question? Yes (0) No (0)
RevZilla: A MD size helmet should be correct based on your measurement. The N43 does tend to fit rather round, so if you have a more oval headshape, then we would recommend starting with a LG instead. May 2, 2012

BobD: My head measured 23.5. I wear a do rag. I bought an XL and it was the perfect size. Sep 1, 2012

A shopper asked: I keep finding reviews about the N43 Air from 2010, and I hope that Nolan has made a lot of changes to the N43E, but it doesn't look like they have done much other than bump up the price. Could you confirm the differences?

A shopper asked: How many shell sizes does the N43E have? I'm exactly between a small and a medium based on the size chart. I'd prefer the small if the shell is noticibly smaller than the medium. Sep 18, 2012
Answer this · Send to friends Good question? Yes (0) No (0)
RevZilla: The Nolan N43E series of helmets only has one shell size. However there are two EPS liners; XS to MD and LG to XXL. Sep 24, 2012
