Phillip B: When buying a new helmet, I usually buy a smoked or tinted shield for it.Apr 14, 2015
michael a: I scaratched my original shield in a laydown...Mar 25, 2015
Adam S: I chose this because I have an N104 and Revzilla had the best price.Feb 3, 2015
Kevin R: Duh... I just bought a Nolan helmet. Have to have a spare shield.Jan 23, 2015
Christopher H: Needed a replacement face shield for the stock helmet. Face shield is awesome in mirror tint. Leans towards a yellow/brown tint and dark enough for all but the brightest days without being overbearingly dark for night city driving on well lit roads. Definitely would not recommend keeping the mirrored visor on at night if you ride on dark roads. Face shield change mechanism is very easy to work and very quick to swap out.Dec 18, 2014
Michael N: Replacement on present helmetOct 15, 2014
Casey L: Original face shield starting to get pitted from sand and debris kicked up by vehicle tires. Lasted around two years. As a result there is more glare coming into the shield from these pits and scratches refracting the light. Safe thing to do is replace the shield.Sep 2, 2014
Robert S: So I'd have a back-up shield with me while on tour in the eastern alps for two weeks.Aug 19, 2014
Bryan V: Normally ride in daylight and wanted the darker shield vs the clear that came standard.Aug 5, 2014
Karan K: the visor got scratched up and we love the helmets so ordered replacement visors with the anti fog pin shields - love the fact that these don't fog up even on wet or hot days.Jul 21, 2014
Derek B: My previous shield was accumulating some scratches, so it was time to replace it. I do a lot of night riding so the tinted/smoked shields aren't really a good option.Jun 26, 2014
Richard S: Original visor is scratched. Want to try smoke color for better sun protection, especially at dusk.Jun 24, 2014
Charles B: Wanted mirror finish to reduce sun glare.Mar 16, 2014
Michael L: After two years my original shield had an accumulation of small scotches & smudges that would not buff out. I love the fit of the Nolan & the helmet itself is in excellent condition.Mar 3, 2014
Frank W G:I love my Nolan N104 helmet. Because it has a very large face area, you might want to get one of the "mirrored" colors for summer use. It keeps the sun's heat at bay so you don't heat up as much. The color is pretty much up to your preference. I chose the blue and may check out another color next time. I've found that it doesn't bother me by being too dark at night either. Other than that, they all work pretty much the same...Mar 25, 2014
Alejandro A:I have been using the N104 for couple years. I've been using the smoked shield and that combined with my VPS gives me enough protection and visibility. I like the smoke because at night it isn't as dark as other smoked shields. If you do not ride your bike at night I would suggest a darker shield though. the darker the better (sunlight). At night the lighter the better.Mar 25, 2014
Don B:I'm sorry Andrew I don't have a tinted or mirrored shield . I just have the clear shield that it came with.I'm sure any tinting would help as the inner visor is not dark enough. I would also like to have more tinting when riding into the sunOct 4, 2013
Thomas B:The Silver shield in light smoke is the best. If not at night it is tooo dark. Wear my Maui Gems dark sun glasses and the visor in the 104 and the shield and you can ride all day into the sun with no problems.Oct 5, 2013
Frank W G:At the Nolan site it says the darker shields offer UV protection but it gives no details. The shield I'm using is a mirrored shield that is cooler in the summer and not dark enough to hamper night riding too much. I don't see the mirrored shields listed anymore, just the smoked ones.Feb 27, 2015
mrrobert:It does tone down the amount of light on the eyes, with the VPS (Vision Protection System) it makes it an enjoyable relief in my situation. I would only recommend the mirror lense from sunrise to sunset, once it get dark it would be advisable to rise the chin bar or change to the clear lense supplied with the helmet.May 1, 2012
