Nolan N104 Hi-Viz Helmet
Release mechanism is a concern
This is the first modular helmet I've owned. I like it, but I have a couple of concerns. I have to have the chin in the up position in order to put the helmet on comfortably. If it is down when I put the helmet on or take it off, if feels like my ears are going to be torn off. With the chin/face in the up position, it is easy to put on. The second concern is the two buttons/levers for releasing the chin/face portion of the helmet. They are made of plastic, and I'm worried about their durability.

Hi-Viz Rocks on this hi-quality helmet
Picked this up on sale at Revzilla and I'm very happy with the helmet. It is extremely functional with hi-viz color, modular chin guard and the sun-visor is a must feature that allows you to eliminate the worry about sunglasses.
I purchased true-to size based on head measurement and Nolan's size chart. I've ridden about 500 miles with this helmet and find it extremely comfortable and functional with easy to use lock and release features along with fantastic outward visibility with a wide it's wide visor.
There is a bit of wind noise, but I can't rate in context with other similar helmets as this is my first full face unit.

This is an all-around great helmet. It looks great, fits great and has excellent features and a super wide visor for an outstanding view. Not as quiet as I had hoped, but I huge improvement over my previous helmet. The colour of the helmet is a perfect match to my armoured jacket.
The shape of this helmet is perfect for my head! It's hard to find a helmet that fits, that doesn't put painful pressure on my forehead. This helmet gives me no problems at all. I'm fairly sure that the pressure on my cheeks will ease up a bit as the helmet breaks in.
Removable neck roll and chin curtain for summer riding comfort.
Drop-down internal sun visor (could drop down a bit more though!#.
Microlock 2 fastening system #double-edged sword though - see below for the quibble#.
Pinlock Anti-fog insert is included with the helmet!
This helmet has outstanding airflow.
A few quibbles:
Nolan has chosen to design their proprietary N-Com system in such a way that it makes it difficult to use a non-OEM Bluetooth unit with their helmets. In order to get my Sena Bluetooth unit to work with this helmet, I had to cut a slot into the moulding that runs around the bottom of the helmet. N-Com is nice, but pricey, and does not sound nearly as good as my Sena Bluetooth unit.
I fear that by making this slight #and purely cosmetic) modification to my helmet that I have voided any warranty coverage for the entire helmet.
That said, the Sena SMH10 unit with detachable microphone works very well in this helmet, and sounds fantastic!
Replacing the visor is a pain. It does not come off or go back on again easily. The mechanism is quite fiddly and I can see how it would be easy to break it without a lot of care being taking when changing out the visor.
The mechanism to open the chin bar makes it difficult to open when wearing even thin summer gloves. I haven't tried with my winter gloves yet, but I imagine that it won't be easy.
The Microlock 2 system makes this helmet a breeze to fasten, but the lack of a D-Ring leaves no place to attach the helmet to my anti-theft helmet pins. An added D-Ring just for this purpose would be appreciated. As it is, I was able to find a T-shaped metal bit that slides in the loop of the ratchet part of the closure. This allows me to use the helmet lock easily, but it does add an additional step to the process of securing my bike.
The visor itself does not seem to have any anti-fog properties whatsoever. I find that on even on warm days, when I have to stop at a light that the visor will completely fog over in just a few seconds if I don't crack it a bit. The Pinlock inserts are great for riding in the cold, but I don't want to have to keep one installed in the helmet all the time.
I don't understand why Hi-Viz helmets seem to be sold at a premium. I got a good deal with a price match on my helmet, but riders shouldn't have to hunt around to avoid paying a premium for safety.

Great helmet! Definitely feel I am seen because of the hi-viz yellow. Love the fact I can put on and take off the helmet with my glasses on without issue. Huge field of vision! Air flow is good in my opinion. Glasses don't fog while riding so thats definitely a plus. Overall very nice helmet. And as always great product and service from revzilla!

Don't be fooled like I was
This is the low end of a good helmet. I like it . but then installed the Nolan B4 + system. I thought i was getting a top of the line interim system.
No Apple support. Really? No Nolan wizard for Apple no app that they speak of. I plugged both units in. One charged to full and the other never got there. I returned everything. Spend more and get a better helmet.

Great helmet, just little noise protection
This is my first modular helmet. I will never go back to full-face. Wearing glasses it is so much easier going into a gas station, drinking some water, talking to someone etc. having the option to push up the face guard.
I like the interior visor against the sun. For someone who wears glasses it is a great feature.
I wanted hi-viz and I think people can see me with their eyes closed. It is a great helmet in that regard.
My only compliant is that it is noisy. I had read other reviews and thought-surely not at this price. They were correct. I am hoping I can find some remedy because it is a drag not being able to listen to music or to talk with my buddies on our intercom system. We never buy "good" or "best" but always "better". This is a good helmet from my perspective for the price. I just wish it weren't so loud.

I love the Hi-Viz Nolan 104. Execellent quality, Giant eyeport with great visability, and as a Hy-Viz, it sticks out on the road/street. In everything except "gear" I hate yellow. I love Hy-Viz yellow riding gear.
Normally I wear a size Large Helmet. 7 3/8 hat; 23 3/8" circumference. My size Large N90 and an N43 Trilogy fit me well. I ordered a Large N104 and the crown is quite tight and the presure on my jaws is very uncomfortable; beyond normal new break in tight. It is also hard to buckle/latch because I can only get 2 clicks on the ratchet before it is too tight. Obviously, for me, the Large is not the correct size.
Thankfully, Revzilla has a wonderful return policy and I am returning the Large for an XL. Other than the sizing issue, the N104 Hy-Viz is everything you could want or need in a flip-face helmet.
