Nolan N-Com B4 Plus Bluetooth Kit for N104/N44 Helmets
Quality product not cheap but very effective
Excellent audio relatively simple to install especially if you have three hands. Easy quick connection to phone although menu functions are a little complex with many button combinations to remember for full functional control. The best clarity of audio I've found on any like device.

It takes some getting use to...
The included directions are poor at best, so be patient when trying to download the firm ware for the first time. AND yes you must download it! Intsalling the unit was easy and straing forward. Sound is good but don't expect HI-FI head pounding base, but when you stop and think about it having something like that on a bike is just not safe. Once I figured out how to work the unit it has worked for a month with no problems or issues and is used 2hrs a day. Getting my Android phone and Garmin GPS to both bluetooth at the same time was a little tricky to figure out but now works seamlessly. Overall I am happy with the product.

This is totally awesome!
At first I was a little skeptical about how well the Bluetooth system would work. To my amaizment, if is awesome! I can listen to my music and make phone calls with ease. I can also talk to other riders. All I have to do is tell Siri to call someone and if interrupts my music and takes priority. You can set it up how you like but overall, this is the best investment by far for the long bike rides me and my hunny will take.

Sound Quality is great. Needs work.
I recommend this product although it has some hefty contraindications. It needs a lot of work. When I say work, I mean you will have to work on it. Nolan should have polished this before releasing it. It seems like a beta or prototype rather than a finished product. It's saving grace is sound quality and battery life. These were critical features for my application.
The B4+ has excellent sound quality, even if with loud exhausts.
Easy to install if you watch the installation video on youtube, takes less than 5 minutes.
Battery lasts for hours of blasting music at full volume.
Looks great, very stealthy.
Price - almost $300, and this would be fine if the system was perfect. It;s not.
Controls feel fragile and flimsy, like the thin plastic layer will rub off or crack over time. I hope I'm wrong.
Not Mac compatible (unless you run parallels, vmware, or bootcamp with microsoft windows on your mac then maybe?)
Updating firmware is very complicated, and requires a PC that you have to change settings in your bios before you can even install the drivers needed for your computer to recognize the unit! Yes... it is even more complicated than it sounds...It requires watching an instructional video that is in Italian. Just hit pause and try to follow along with what they show you and it will work.
After 1.5 months of using the unit, it stopped taking a charge. I googled this and it is apparently a known issue possibly caused by the removable chin guard creating a short. I removed the chin guard, held down all three buttons simultaneously while the usb was plugged in, and voila - it turned on and started to charge.
the buttonology is not intuitive. It does not work like "traditional" bluetooth phone/audio devices. I'm still trying to figure it out. Make sure you have your playlist ready, gps destination set (if you need it) and you won't have to struggle while you ride or have to pull over to figure out what buttons to press to get your audio back.
There is software and an android app for the b4+ that is also challenged. You can't set your favorite radio stations on either, but the software makes it look like you can, so yeah thats messed up.
This unit needs some polishing up, better driver installation instructions (English would be nice for US/AUS/NZ/UK riders).
All this said, the B4+ was worth all the effort involved in making it work. Sound quality is perfect, and battery life is great.

Works as advertised
Great sound quality and super easy to install. The initial getting the computer to work with it was a little iffy but that was error on my side so no fault of Nolan. It was a breeze to install in the helmet and it gets great sound quality while riding. Phone calls are clear and sound for music is outstanding.

This is a great update to the old ncom systems. The installation is a piece of cake, and the controls are easier to use as well.
The main problem with choosing an ncom system over scala though still exists; this system does not auto adjust based on ambient noise. When you have it loud enough to hear at speed and come to a stop, you are going to get blasted until you get your hand off the clutch to turn it down. And of course when you get back up to speed you have to manually turn it back up.
Scala systems all do this for you automatically. Nolan really needs to step up their design. I wouldn't have bought this at all because of this missing feature except I wanted the new N104 for its low profile with the faceshield up over my Schuberth C3 with integrated Scala system. Once you ride with this feature you will be cursing any system that doesn't have it.

Too exspensive to be just okay
I bought and installed this in my Nolan, n104 modular. Easy install and Bluetooth phone connection. The sound quality is the best I have experienced at sub-50mph speeds, but definitely falls short after that. And I drive a BMW K1200LT, quiet exhaust with a big wind screen, so I can imagine the distortion with other set-ups. Big drawback for me is no way to make it compatible with my BMW/J&M CB, even with a corded hook-up. I spoke to Nolan and they confirmed this, but is compatible with the Midland 75-822 walkie talkie. For what the B-4 cost I feel it should deliver better sound quality with music and even phone calls. So I can not recommend for this reason.

Wish that these systems would allow you to by-pass the ear loudspeakers and allow you to plug in a set of noise cancelling ear buds. The helmet and system is the best it can do considering the noise from the bike and wind. It usually means that you have to turn the volume up to hear anything. Phone connection was easy with my Note 3. Still can't figure out how to stream Pandora.....
