Great for the money Was happy with helmet. Only had one issue. The model I got was an older one and had clips to hold visor on which one came of on second time wearing helmet. Contacted Nexx USA and they are getting issue solved for me. May 26, 2014
Unique says it all with Great quality! All my helmets in the future will be a NEXX. Worth the money well over the competitors that are twice the price and twice the helmet weight. March 17, 2014
My first helmet and I love it! I tried a lot of helmets for fit, weight, quality, style and color. Nothing beats the Nexx. January 6, 2014
One of a kind! I’ve had this helmet for about 6 months now and all I get are tons of compliments and on where to get one. First and foremost the helmet is insanely light and comfortable! It doesn’t even feel like you’re wearing a helmet. Of course it has all the full safety certifications and specs as well as just being a dynamic beautiful helmet. I’ve had only one Shoei helmet prior and my NEXX is killing it! It is on the pricey side, but it is well worth the money. September 23, 2013
Coming Unglued - Poor Construction I bought the Nexx XR1-R from Revzilla not long after this model came out. Comfortable, very light, reasonably quiet and excellent for long rides in cooler weather. But after less than three years of fairly light use, this helmet is literally falling apart. This weekend I removed the cheek pads to wash the liner and one of the inner pieces that is glued to the shell and holds the cheek pad in place via velcro literally separated from the shell (i.e. total adhesive failure) leaving behind several globs of poorly placed, dried-out adhesive. At the same time, the rubber molding which lines the lower front of the shell in the chin area also fell out. This, in turn, exposed the rear of the chin vent assembly which had two broken screws, and the entire front vent plastic assembly came off. The helmet has NOT been dropped or abused in any way. IMO, it is simply shoddy construction. No way a helmet costing this much should have multiple adhesive failures like this after only a few years of light use. Buyer beware: how will this helmet hold up in a crash??? August 25, 2013
ligth and nice helmet, but poor quality The helmet is nice and light. But for its value, should be of better quality, for example the face shield does not have a good seal and with few and gently used, the logo is detachment June 10, 2013
Most of the other reviews hit the mark head on... AND IT FOGS! Very light, good looking helmet. Snug fit, with comfy lining keeps the helmet a bit quieter than my previous, but also a bit hotter. Vents are great on the top, but chin ventilation is null. Built seems ok, but I can see how the plastic vents could come apart. It does fog a lot. I'm riding in hot SOCAL wheater and this will fog up like noone's business, didn't even know it was possible to fog this much. So that's the biggest minues, along with being a bit hot. The light weight is great though, I can wear it for hours, barely feel it there (had a nolad n43 before which was also light but not this light). A bit of my previous helmet and bike follows for context. Overall good, but wish it was a tad quieter and a bit better venting. Bit of background I'm pretty new at riding, currently own a 09 vfr. Previous helmets were the scorpion exo400, then nolan n43 - which is great and light and has great airflow, but is too loud with the vfr fairing throwing all the air right at my head. The n43 worked fine with my previous bike - a naked aprilia mana. If it wasn't for the noise I would like the n43 better than the nexx. Side note: Really wished there was a way to test ride helmets for 20 minutes or so. They are really expensive is a tough to find the right fit for the right head and the bike. July 15, 2013
Awsome Helmet!!!!! Purchased this helmet after a lot of research. Coming from a half helmet I have to say this one is awsome!!! The style is perfect with leather wrap and the weight is very comparable to my carbon fiber half helmet. I would say this one is lighter. The helmet is very comfortable to wear and the air flow and noise level is nice. Would purchase again and would recommend this helmet to those looking. Comes with the pin lock system so that is one less thing to purchase. The Revzilla customer service is AWSOME I must add. Thanks guys. May 20, 2013

RevZilla Store asked: Why did you choose this?
cleartalk - a: Just always wanted this bad boy!!! Jan 25, 2014
A shopper asked: Hello, apparently I am an oval shape as I had to go with an HJC modular for a new helmet. In one summer it's falling apart somewhat and like the Nexx look and especially wide field of vision. I am a double x or triple in some hjc models. Do you think I have any shot at this model being a fit as I want a solid much better full face helmet? Thanks and it would be ironic if I got a Diablo for a Diavel! Sep 20, 2013

Thomas T: I wear XL in all my helmets, this model included. It fits snug which is what I want. The comfort is highest of my helmets, road or snow. Next to carbon fiber snow helmet by skidoo. The lightness is critical as I have chronic neck issues and that was preventing me from riding, this has substantially reduced neck pain after a ride. In colorado a relatively dry climate it does fog so I often ride with it cracked slightly. I have not ordered the mirror or smoke glass but believe if you ride in the day time much it is mandatory, the larger view heats up.
The bright orange can be seen for a long way.

A S: Hey Thomas.
What brands are your other helmets?
Im looking to buy this helmet. I got Arai RX7GP Size XL and Shoei Raid 2 size XL and as well a Shoei bloodflow XL.
How does this helmet relate to others in size?
Thanks in advance! Oct 29, 2013
Ryan W: I've never had or used any HJC helmets so it's a little hard to comment on sizing, but from my experience with the XR1R, it is a little loose fitting, even with the extra pad inserts provided. That may just be my personal issue however.

You might just want to go one size down for it to be snug, especially after the padding starts breaking in. I still keep this as a backup helmet, but I picked up an Arai Vector 2 that fits me much better. Just remember you can return it if it's not quite right, just don't go out riding with it before you decide to keep/reutrn it like it did.

Antony S: I'm oval too. I find this helmet to be not only comfortable by slightly more sound proof than my other helmets. It's a well constructed helmet. You'll love it. Just remember its leather coated and that takes some extra care. Enjoy. Sep 22, 2013

A w: Yes, I think so. The many foam pads that come with the XR make it very adaptable. Make sure you get a model with the latest visor clip/screw system. I had to have an updated part sent to me. Love the helmet, though! Sep 20, 2013

A shopper asked: What is the exact weight of this helmet? is it close to the XR1R Carbon's 1250 gram? Jul 4, 2012

Chris H: My medium Diablo weighed about 1340. It was a little more than 200 grams lighter than my Schuberth C3 which is advertised at 1560 I think. Those 200 grams make a huge difference when there is no wind screen. I can't comment on how much difference it would make behind a full screen. Oct 1, 2012

A shopper asked: Is this helmet "waterproof"? No helmet is 100% waterproof, but is this helmet as water-resistant as it's non-leather covered models? Jul 4, 2012
Answer this · Send to friends Good question? Yes (0) No (0)
FishPilot28: Yes. When I first got it, rain poured on me on my ride home. I've had zero issues with water penetrating inside the helmet and it didn't even get into the seams. So I'd say its completely waterproof when you ride. I also asked Nexx about this and they said the same thing. Hope this helps! Nov 3, 2012

Kindred86: I would say yes, it’s as resistant as any other leather material, may it be on a vest or jacket. I easily wipe away any moisture off of it. Also keeping the upper and lower air vents help too. Nov 19, 2012

A shopper asked: Hello,

I have an arai rx7gp in size XL. Would this helmet fit me in XL too?
Any advice?

Anthony C: I don't know about xl but I wear a small in the arai and the nexx helmet small was a good fit. Oct 29, 2013
