Like wearing nothing
I own the all black carbon version no graphics. I strictly use it for the track, so this review doesn't take street riding into account.
I hate to sound like a broken record here but honestly when everyone says it's like wearing nothing at all; they are NOT kidding. It's amazing! And the field of view is excellent. Huge amounts of peripheral vision. As far as noise level is concerned I wear ear plugs on the track so I can't really comment, but I don't feel any wind blowing through in any places that cause high speed wind noise. The ventilation is good but not great. My picks are: the padding is good and it's a snug fit (I never used the extra pieces that came with it). But when I had to pull the padding out to put my eject system in some of the Velcro that's supposed to stay glued to the inner liner came out with the pads. And when I went through tech one of the glued pieces was covering my manufacturing date sticker. Once I finally found where it was I pulled the Velcro piece back and it marred my mfg date sticker. I've had it fog up a little standing still on the grid waiting for our start but clear up immediately when I take off. I'm currently waiting for my pin lock insert. The only other thing is the helmet bag they give you is total junk.
Overall, I still love it and it's light weight and big field of view far outweigh any of my picks about it. It's no frills. No bells and whistles. Just business.

A shopper asked:I'm interested in this helmet specifically for the race track. I'm currently riding in a Shoei X-11 which is a great helmet but severely limits my vision in the tuck position. How does the viewable area on the XR1R compare to the X-11?Aug 31, 2012
RevZilla:As time goes by and helmet features increase, visibility has seemed to widen/improve as well. That being said, most newer helmets will have a better/improved field of vision when compared to older models. Thus the Nexx XR1R Carbon Speed Helmet should have an improved field of vision. If you like the X-11 then you should definitely check out the Shoei X-12 Helmet, which is the helmet I use on the track. I have never had any visibility issues with this helmet and have been extremely happy with the upgrade from the RF-1100.Sep 4, 2012
DucDucGoose:Although I haven't taken this helmet to the track I would say this helmet's field of vision is ridiculous! It's almost like you don't have a helmet on. In full tuck I've noticed no helmet obscurities looking forward, the only thing that blocks any vision is the breath guard, which is removable.Oct 26, 2012
