Nexx XR1R Cafe Helmet
EXCELLET LID FOR A SMALL HEAD
I have a wee head, size 7 baseball cap, and a very narrow face. I tried on so many helmet brands and all seemed too big for my little narrow lady head. finally, I got to this one and viola! I've had it for 2 yrs now and really pretty happy with it,
the R ear now whistles. no idea why, the padding looks fine. AND the visor UGH it bubbled a bit and I got this helmet through a BMW store, so trying to get a replacement has not been easy (they keep telling me Nexx supplies are on backorder... shrug)
I'd like find a new visor and even a tinted one as well. stay tuned...

Nexx XR1R Cafe
Very light helmet, good vision, and Pinlock (no fogging at all).
I actually like the graphics on the "Cafe"....
I've owned this helmet for 1 year now about 4,000 miles including a 1,000 mile trip from Indy to Virginia.
Airflow is adequate, but not superb. I usually wear earbuds with a Ipod so not a real issue, I would say the noise levels are average. The Earbuds have no problem fitting in the helmet. There are pockets for additional earphones from a scala or sena blue tooth so that will be usefull down the road.
The quick release for the visor...This thing is cheap! When closing your visor the locks actually move and can release! dropping off the helmet and losing your visor. Luckilly this has happened in parking lots for me. When closing the visor "quickly" the quick release locks move with the visor, going to an open position. They pop off (usually one of them) leaving the visor hanging. There needs to be a more secure system here. for the price I recomend not getting the quick release you will be disappointed.
Overall the helmet is average, Were it not for the quick release this would be Good. Skip the quick release.

Best Bang for the Buck!!!
This helmet was my first Full-Faced helmet, I had always been more of an open faced guy until the need to ride faster on highways came about recently and thus needed something that was a tad bit more quieter when it comes to wind noise. While this doesn't kill all the sound, it works and feels great. They aren't kidding when they say that you forget you have the helmet on, the vision is superb. I was surprised that my helmet came with the FastShot face shield system as I was totally prepared to have to buy that next but I am so glad that it came with it so that it will be easier to switch out the faceshields for those long rides in the sun! The only thing I wish this helmet had was a quicker on/off method than the straps but for $10 I was able to fix that with a simple click in/out system for the chin strap
Lightweight, low noise, great visibility
The velcro on the chin strap seems to be a bit much and can be somewhat annoying

Pros: light weight and comfortable. Cons: chin strap and noise.
As most riders, we are always in search of the perfect helmet. I have tried HJC (first helmet), Scorpion (too heavy), Shoei 1000 (can't remove liner) and now the NEXX. I found the XR1R to be light weight, comfortable and excellent view port. I'm not crazy about the Velcro chin strap with the D-ring. It seems like a lot going on down there; totally not necessary. The noise level is bearable. I use ear plugs anyway, so that doesn't bother me. Overall it's a solid helmet for the price.

Good looking lightweight helmet
Only drawback are the mounting screws for the face shield. They have sharp edges and if you accidentally brush your helmet against your bike, they will scratch your paint!

This helmet fits me very well. I didn't need to use any of the provided additional pads. Very snug all around but no pressure points. Unlike other reviews I found the helmet to be very quiet. (Unless you loose one of the little plastic pin-lock plugs on the face-shield. Then it howls like a banshee!) It is extremely light, and the field of view really is remarkable. When the shield is up, the helmet disappears. The padding is thorough but it also easily accommodates glasses or sunglasses. There is a padded and easy to operate D strap. It's the only helmet I have which I don't immediately want to pull off when I finish a ride. Very comfortable.
Those are the Pros.
They outweigh the Cons, which are:
The visor is NOT quick change. You must remove three screws and fit together two visor framing pieces on each side. Bring a sandwich. I have the Cafe Racer XR1R and the vent opening surrounds are made of a cheap-feeling plastic. Something like a soft rubber or soft plastic would better fit this fine a helmet. The colors are vibrant and well chosen, and the decals are fun, but the text on them is a little goofy. Nitpicking, but maybe NEXX is listening ;-)
Beautiful shape and design and it fits great.

Nexx XR1R Cafe Racer
This product caught my eye because I was looking for a full-face helmet to wear while riding my Triumph Thruxton cafe racer. It has great style but better yet is a very lightweight, protective helmet. The big pluses are the very wide field of vision, the low weight, and the choice of colors/designs. I highly recommend the XR1R!
