They're cheap and they work
I use these on my Yamaha YZF-R3 for carrying rain suits, tools, water, food, etc. I put them on and haven't taken them off. They are plain Jane, but you can buy the Nelson Rigg Mini-Saddlebags which are slightly larger, better looking, and more expensive.

Negative: They don't come with rain covers, so you have to buy those separately.

*Nice size bags* Great look* Good quality*
I had a set of these about 5 bikes ago and loved them! With these new bikes having such narrow tails, the sport 40's are almost the perfect size. I had enough room for a change of clothes, toiletries, tools and whatever else I need. I just ordered another set for my 954rr I like them that much.

Note* you can put the top strap underneath the rear seat instead of overtop (makes it comfortable for passengers) unless you have a banana boat seat like a CBR 600 f4 or f4i. It can be done but it is a pain to finagle the seat back on. Just a heads up!

As advertised.
Nice little bags that fit my daugthers CBR250R perfectly. Bags don't look bulky and are shaped to follow the tail section of the bike.

Effective Commuter Storage!
I needed some external storage because I already carry a backpack with my laptop and work-related files and school books and I needed to carry cold-weather gear for the winter time. I initially was attaching a second backpack to the tank with a bungee net (functioning like a tank bag) but found that in inhibited my handlebar travel when performing tight turns.

I decided to try a set of saddlebags to ensure I did not crash from a tank bag hitting my handlebars. I spent about a month researching the different saddlebags and found these from Nelson-Rigg.

Perfect for my purposes
I bought these to use during my commute. I wasn't looking for anything huge since I have a rather small sportbike. These hardly take anything to install. I just removed the seat to put the velcro straps under. If I had any complaint though, it would be that they don't have a lock.

Great for a solo rider's weekend
The bags' holding capacity are a bit on the small side compared to the other ones in the Nelson-Rigg Sport line, but are still adequate to keep a few changes of clothes for a single person. The bags feel durable, strap down easily, and have a nice simplistic finish to them. They're wide enough to allow a dufflebag to be placed on top of them securely. Panels on the back side and the Nelson-Rigg logo are reflective to add some safety at night time. Only complaint is that the flaps are a bit stiff at the end, so the velcro doesn't always hold them closed, although the zippers to a well enough job of keeping dirt out.

Seem great for the price
I'm reviewing before actual use. I put them on my 13 Street Triple very easily. They fit nice for what they are, nice size, easy to attach. Don't expect perfect fancy like hard cases. I dont plan and wouldn't keep them on unless actually need them for the day. I feel they would wear out quickly if over used but that's just my guess. I wouldn't really know. Maybe I'll re review after they've been used a lot. I like them though, and would recommend them.

Small everyday bag
These bags fit the bill for what I wanted, they are small and unobtrusive but have enough space to carry a few extra things like my lunch and a pair of gloves. Definitely not a bag for touring but large enough for everyday commuting.

They work great
I was looking for soft bags that would keep their form and would look more sporty on the bike, so they wouldn't look too much like touring bags. These are it.

Took maybe 15 minutes to install. Depends on your seat and if you're O.C.D like me and want them to be exactly even when looking at them from the back, it'll take longer.

I can fit plenty of stuff in both of them. I even went to sonic and was even able to take a large drink in them without any spills etc. You can even place a portable cup holder in them if needed.

All in all, if you're looking for soft bags that will keep their form like hard bags, get these. You won't regret it.

I can't afford hard bags. This is the alternative that I chose.
I am happy with the performanse so far. I went ahead and ordered the water proof bags at the time of the purchase.

No buyer's regret here. If only they made these in a color to match my tank.

Attractive, affordable, and easy to install. Eventually I may get fully rigid, bike-specific panniers, but those are absurdly expensive, so these'll help me carry my wine home for now.

Hello,
How would I secure them on my..... 2014, BMW R1200GS ?

Thank you.
A shopper on Jun 8, 2014
BEST ANSWER: I have Yamaha FZ6R. I placed top straps underneath rear seat and clipped both fronts together and rear to rear reflector brackets. Looks good and I didn't had to modify any of the original product or bike. They add that little extra capacity that works out fine for me. Recommend if they're big enough!
Does this saddle bag hold ~10 liters per side, or is it ~10 liters for both sides combined?
Michael H on Sep 5, 2013
BEST ANSWER: 10.79 liters is 2.85 gallons PER bag... so... 5.701 gallons total.. great for short trips!
Anyone know if you can get these on an '85 Nighthawk 650?
Ian M on Jul 3, 2015
BEST ANSWER: I don't see why they wouldn't fit. These bags are adaptable. I have used mine on two different bikes. In looking at a photo of the Nighthawk it would seem to be a very straightforward fit. Throw them over the passenger seat and use the straps to attach them.
Do these come with the raincovers?
A shopper on Sep 26, 2012
BEST ANSWER: These bags do not come with raincovers. The Nelson-Rigg Sport 40 Saddle Bag Rain Covers are available separately.
Will these bags make it harder to lane split? They look like the can make the bike wider than the bar ends. Has anyone used these bags and made unintentional contact with a car?
alan d on Jun 13, 2014
BEST ANSWER: They add less than 7 inches per side, about an inch wider than your upper leg. Lane splitting shouldn't be a problem, if handlebars fit, the bags won't be the problem.
