Lots of space and looks good I bought this bag to use as my main luggage for a week-long business trip that involved 900 miles of riding roundtrip on my 2007 Ninja 650R. This bag is very roomy -- I was able to store five days worth of clothes, personal effects, a pair of shoes, a two-piece rain suit, a bike cover, and a DSLR camera bag in the CL-1040 with the bottom and side compartments expanded. As far as attaching the bag to my bike, although it was irritating at first to have to buy the strap system separately, I found that the tailbag hook system was able to anchor the CL-1040 to my rear seat without any noticeable lateral shifting in corners, even with a heavy load, and feels much more secure (and flexible) than the usual bungee cord option that other bags come with. The hooks, although plastic, seem very durable. I also find it convenient to be able to release the bag from the straps and unhook the straps when they're not under tension. The only complaint I have about this bag is the main storage compartment zipper; I'd prefer a heavier-duty zipper with bigger teeth. I noticed when zipping it shut while the bag was full that the zipper mistracked a few times at the corners of the lid and did not always zip smoothly. That's the only reason I didn't give the CL-1040 a five-star review. Overall, I love this bag (even taking into consideration the zipper issue) and would definitely recommend it to anyone who needs the most storage space out of a tail bag while retaining a somewhat sporty look. Great bag, bad installation design. The bag itself is great! Great design, including nice pocket features and expandability. Where the bag really fails is in installation. Since they designed the bag to work as both a tank and tail bag, it does neither very well. Installing it as a tail bag is extremely difficult and even after you managed to get the straps secured the bag still has too much slack to slide around. May 14, 2012
