Works very well
I'm 5'9" and put this on my 2007 FJR1300. It's not quite as nice looking as the stock windshield, but it does a great job of moving the air where you want it.
In the down position, I get a nice smooth blast of air to the face without much turbulence. I can also see over the windshield without any problem. In the up position 75-100% extended, I'm completely shielded from any headwind and can clearly hear music and phone calls in my helmet. I'm looking through the windshield, but there is no distortion.

I purchased the VSTREAM for my 2012 FJR1300A. I went for a 200 mile day ride and the windshield worked excellent.
I never realized that I should be able to hear my engine. I never was able to hear it with the stock shield. I was actually able to hear my IPOD without it being turned all the way up.
GREAT PRODUCT! I HIGHLY RECOMMEND THIS SHIELD.

Turns the FJR into a true tourer
I'm 6'2" and the stock screen didn't do much to keep my head out of the wind. I put this on and it did the trick! I could ride at highway speed and leave my full face shield up! In the down position I still get a nice breeze for slower speeds. The quality and ease of installation is all good too! 2012 FJR 1300

Timothy H:I put a National Cycle VStream Tall Touring Windscreen on my 2009 FJR last August. It replaced the stock windscreen. It does a great job protecting my body and head. I don't often have a rider behind me so I cannot speak to that.
I am 6'1", inseam of 33". I ride with the seat in the upper position. From there my line of sight is over the top of the extended windshield. The wind deflects over my eyes so much that I could probably ride without eye protection if necessary.
The ride is comfortably quiet with my full face helmet face shield up (just hear the purring of the motor), but I get a lot of noise with the face shield partially or completely lowered. This must mean that I am getting quite a bit of deflected wind just on the top of my helmet, though I don't feel the pressure and I don't get fatigued. I think it is time for a new helmet.
I have never ridden behind another aftermarket windscreen so cannot offer any comparisons. I would buy the VStream again.
Clifford C:I don't know how tall the Yamaha windshield is, but I know that on my Kawasaki Concours 14, the VStream windshield was taller .. maybe as much as 2-4 inches. Check the product specs ... I believe they may tell you the actual height of the windshield for the FJR1300 ... If you don't find it here, check the National Cycle website for specs. I love mine .. it made a huge difference in the buffeting and wind deflection at highway speeds in the "up" position. And Revzilla is great to deal with .. one of my favorite places to buy motorcycle accessories. I do think you will be happy with the National Cycle VStream product!!May 30, 2014
Neal W:I purchased the V Stream last year for my 08' FJR to replace the OEM windshield. Its 4' taller and 6'-8' wider at the top. I can look thru it when all the way up. It does help some, but the buffeting is still there. (not satisfied) It seems to want to suck my head forward when all the way up. not much of an air pocket. I'm considering one with the reverse lip (Cal-sci) or a Rifle with their added angle bracket to lay the windshield back ward. anyway the V Stream didn't work well for this 5'9" 160lb rider. Good luck!May 29, 2014
Nico C:The National Cycle VStream fits your need perfectly. I tried the OEM Touring first but still was unhappy. I then purchased the VStream and the air coming off the top is much cleaner and at full height provides a quiet pocket to sit in .May 29, 2014
Elo E:The VStream Tall Touring windscreen works very well. Minimal wind, noise, and buffeting. I've had it for around a year, and it makes long rides very comfortable. Keeps the chill off in Autumn and riding in the rain is more pleasant.May 29, 2014
Sergio N:Hello. I purchased the v-stream for my super tenere. Its worked wonders preventing wind buffeting. I ordered the tallest one they have. The only downside is that when it geta muddy, visibiliy might be an issue. May 29, 2014
