Mustang Wide Tripper Solo Seat For Harley Slim and Blackline

The Wide Tripper is a good mix of custom-cut sculpted looks and all-day riding comfort. The saddle manages to support the rider for a day of long, hard riding, without appearing bulbous and bulky. Further the custom look with attractive diamond stitching, or a beautiful brown cover - or both!

Features:

  • Steel base with support wings holds up the full width of the foam bucket
  • Detailed stitching in highly durable synthetic leather
  • Solo seat measures 13" wide
  • Made in the USA

Note: Image depicts driver and passenger seats together - Mustang Wide Tripper Passenger Seat is available separately.

Looks and comfort too!
My first 200 mile trip on the stock seat was pretty uncomfortable after about the first hour. I highly recommend the Mustang for comfort on longer rides. It has the right combination of looks and comfort. Very well made.

Better than stock seat
Got this for my 2016 FLSS (Softail Slim S). Stock seat was typical Harley; hard and uncomfortable after 30 minutes of riding. The Mustang isn't perfect, but it is better. I was able to go over an hour before I needed to take a break. The Sundowner seat is the best, but looks ridiculous on this bike. Corbin makes a great seat, but at twice the cost.

By far this seat is the best compromise of looks, cost, and comfort.

A great seat for a great price!
After looking at a lot of seats and reading a lot of reviews, I purchased the Mustang Wide Tripper Solo Seat. I have been very happy with the comfort and the look. I have no regrets with this puchase.

Comfortable, Excellent craftsmanship.
Ive had Mustang seats before so I knew that this was going to be a well put together product. It fits my bike perfectly and didn't require any adjustment. I ride daily and have no complaints. Install was a snap and used original mounting hardware, and includes piece to mount passenger pillion. (I did purchase the pillion and recommend it equally as strong)

Looks and Feels great
I mostly needed to get a new seat to replace the narrow passenger seat on my 2013 Blackline. The diamond stitching looks great. I didn't realize how uncomfortable my stock seat was until I put on this seat. So far I love everything about it.

Great quality and comfort all in one!
Changing from the standard OEM solo to the wide tripper is fantastic. The seat is truly wider, keeping those legs off the engine and away from the heat. It's much thicker on the bottom and backside slope, keeping from cutting off any circulation at the tail bone. Not to mention it's more gripping for those who really throttle their beast, looks great, and with 2k miles on the seat, has no sign of wear or areas of discomfort.

Find on sale, and buy
To start, I bought my seat during a sale, and then found a coupon code. I do not believe I bought it from revzilla, but that is ok. I got the seat for $150. Not a bad deal if you ask me. For the price, it was definitely worth it. Not only does it look sweet, but it is slightly more comfortable than the stock seat. After wrecking my first bike, I have been looking for more comfort, but still love the look of a Softail Slim. I needed more out of my seat, and the Mustang Seat delivered. This seat doesn't turn a Slim into a lazy boy by any means, but it allows me to go a full tank without worrying about how my backside feels. When I stop to get gas, I stretch (as is normal), and I am good to go. With the stock seat, I had to stop in between 100-150 miles, depending on the road conditions. Really bad roads, well, we can all relate, they suck and are not included in this review. I will probably eventually upgrade to a Road Glide, but, the wallet does not agree with that purchase right now. When I do, Mustang, I am coming for a full lazy boy!!! For those that have a Slim, and can find this seat on sale, get it. I would suggest getting the non-diamond stitch seat, and then getting it re-upholstered to a custom design. If you want the diamond stitch, and want to keep it that way, it is a good purchase. It looks nice, and will get you compliments where you previously did not get any. It doesn't keep water like my last diamond stitch from Harley (on my Nightster). It is a great seat.

I like the factory stock seat better
I bought this seat because I needed the matching pillion passenger seat. However, I noticed that the passenger seat fits with the factory stock seat. I also wanted the backrest and noticed that this seat does not fit the back rest. I felt that the stock seat was a more comfortable seat than the mustang. I will be selling this seat or attempt to return this seat from Revzilla.

I chose this seat because I liked the styling, stitching, and the brown leather. I also rode other bikes that had a Mustang seat and it felt very comfortable.

can a back rest be used with this seat?
A shopper on Jul 17, 2016
BEST ANSWER: I have a '14 softail slim. I have a detachable back rest. It fits perfectly with my Mustang solo and passenger combo. very happy
How did this seat change your position on the bike? Any higher or lower? More forward or back? Thank you.
Gregg Y on Aug 21, 2015
BEST ANSWER: It moves you forward and is feels snugg compared to the original. I would consider a wide for long rides (days) or if I had more mass on me. I am 5-8 and 185 pounds Daily use and one day rides it works well. As I break it in I think it will get better.
