Mustang Wide Solo Seat For Yamaha Bolt 2014-2015
Mustang seat didn't quite fit
For all the great things I hear about the Mustang seats I was actually very disappointed in this and for one specific reason - the positioning of the bolt mount. For the Star Bolt, the Mustang Solo seat only needs to fit into one place to be bolted in to replace the original. The placement of the mount was about 2 centimeters too far forward on the one I received.
In order to actually get this to fit I needed to hold the seat down with all my weight and a friend had to crank on the mount with a socket extension against the frame of the bike to bend it into position to get the 10mm bolt in place. For the price of this product this kind of imperfection SHOULD NEVER HAPPEN.
I'm going to assume the fit issue was a fluke, but if this ever happens to you just send it back to Revzilla or Mustang for replacement instead of fooling around with it like me, I couldn't spare the time because I had a long trip right after it arrived and didn't have time to wait for it to be replaced.
Although once the seat was on this is amazingly comfortable and was perfect for my 4+ hour trip. It does add a couple inches in seat height and does change your positioning while at a stop and riding though so that should be taken into consideration before buying.
In the end it IS a very good seat and replacement for the regular Bolt and Bolt R-Spec seats, but beware of fitting issues.

Rode 200 miles after installing the set and I love it. Should of been the first thing I got.

Pretty, but not comfy
A nice looking solid seat, with braided trim. In use, though, the abrupt rise at the back of the seat does not fit my posterior, and I am not fat. The original seat has a gentle slope up and cushions your butt more ergonomically.

Must-have to spend any significant time on your bike
This seat almost by itself made the Bolt a touring bike. The stock R-spec seat is OK for basic commuting and looking cool around town, which yes is the intention of the bike. After a 1-1.5 hours numb butt kicks in and you are wiggling around for a sweet spot.
Enter the Mustang seat. I didn't feel "aah" right away but after a long time it felt very nice. It is significantly wider and more supportive than the stock seat. You are slightly higher and closer than before. That support did wonders. I did a 500 mile road trip this weekend and had exactly 0 cases of numb butt. Very comfortable. Durable in rain too. Bravo Mustang. Home run! On top of that I do like the look.
On the not so hot parts. It is expensive, no doubt there. Would prefer cheaper, but it works so I won't cry too much. Installation in the Bolt is not as easy as fit is far from perfect. I could not get the screw holes to line up properly. I admit I am not the most graceful, but fitment could definitely be improved. It shouldn't take more than 5 minutes to install and it definitely did.
Kudos to Revzilla for speedy delivery!
If you want to spend more than an hour on the bike, get it.

Compared to the stock seat, this one is great. It seems like it's about an inch and a half to two inches thicker than stock. This causes you to sit a little higher and even a little farther forward. It took some getting used to but I love it now! Also it's wider so it changes the way your feet touch the ground. All in all I am very happy with my purchase! Revzilla was awesome as always.

nice look solid build
I like the feel of the seat . built to last.
You need to know what look you are going for .
More for the bagger cruiser. Certainly an appropriate name.
it's a big seat!
