Takes a beating. Functional but a few design flaws. Still an A+ rack. Put a set of ammo cans on this rack system and loaded them to the gills on my DL 1000. At max load rating I rode the bike down the side of a mountain bashing the ever living He11 out of my boxes on rocks. I fully expected that by the time I reached the bottom I would have a pannier-less Vstrom but was amazed to find that aside from massive dents in the boxes the mounts were in perfect shape. The bike has been down hard twice with the ammo cans taking the brunt and still this rack holds up. This bag system could take a direct hit from a 105mm howitzer and when the smoke cleared they'd still have glossy paint. My only gripe is that this system makes my turn signals bend upward to clear a support loop and that the rubber bumpers that go under the latch pins fall off (held on with adhesive). Other than those two issues I fully recommend this setup. My friends with the big name $1500 rack and pannier systems were jealous of my tank like tough as nails and super spacious setup.
