Metzeler Tourance EXP Tires
Good tires YES, great tires , maybe not
Don't be deterred by my title , had to dig a little at these tires as I use them on everything I own because they are the best overall I have been able to find to put on touring /adventure/ dare I say dual sport < (yeah right) tires .
What they are not good for is 8 inch deep mud . pretty much everything else , I'm fine with them. LOL
OK so I have two Triumphs . one Bonnie, and one Exp 1200 and the EXP's came on the big bike and I got 10 K miles on the first set and I'm about 5 K into the second set on them and other than the popular crit of being a bit noisy in the curvy bits their is very little to criticize about these wonderfully stable long wearing great cornering and decent forest road performance.
I've actually done some serious off road work with them on a BMW 800 I no longer ride and they were oK as long as the going wasn't pure mud.
What I DO like about them is the cornering capably . I do NOT ride as aggressive as I used to but these tires I've done some pretty good lean angles when I rode more aggressively and not once did they low side . The tread seems to be very sticky on the sides and there were times when all the chicken strips just disappeared.
I have NOT experienced the kind of cupping on high mileage ones that I experienced on some Battle wings , and I am a fan those in spite of all the bad mouthing they get , my brother has milked over 14K miles on a set with his V Strom. Now he is not an aggressive rider AT ALL. For him it is all about economy. Hight mpg and miles per tire is what he is all about./ and we are both senior citizens so you can figure the reason we are so cheap. LOL
OK go buy a set . Take it easy on the jack rabbit starts and anyone should be able to get well over six to ten K miles on a set of them if kept properly inflated and you don't burn them off with acceleration rates like a moto gp starting grid.

Perfect for my GS
My F650GS performs on mountain curves like a rock star with these tires. I was really surprised by how well my bike handles, and these tires feel planted and stuck to the road. Very nice.

Great tire but very tread life
Just a heads up, Anthony said the Tourance was a long lasting tire, longer than the EXP. I think he said that backward. I've never tried the EXP but I've had many Metzler Tourance tires on my F800GS and I've never seen more than 3k to 4k miles before they are shot. I do ride aggressively in tight twistie cnyns.
Great tire for road and dirt roads.

10k Miles and probably would have gotten 20k!
These came stock on my 650gs and they were great for the road. I commute on my bike every day and at 10k miles I got a screw in the rear tire and decided to get some TKC80's. I wasn't even close to the wear bars. I would have gotten 13k miles out of them for sure if not 20k miles.
They were amazing on the road and I even took them to the track once. I look them off-road on some gnarly fire roads and they did the job but they didn't give me much confidence.
For a 95/5 tire they are amazing. I am super happy with how long they lasted.

This is a great road tire but not for off road.
If you ride on the road, this is a great tire. It is not good for off road or dirt roads. I have every confidence leaning hard into turns even when wet on my G650GS.

great street biased tires
These are often the stock tires on the BMW GS bikes...I have had them on two models of BMWs and they have served me well. Would I prefer a slightly more aggressive tire that was a little better off road? - Yes! However, if you drop your tire pressure once you leave the pavement and watch your speed on the corners, these tires will serve you surprisingly well. I think wet mud and tree roots would be scary with them, unless you had the bike handling skills of a Dakar rider. However, for a city rider in Vancouver BC the Tourance is a dependable wet weather commuter tire.

They came stock on my 13 GS Sertao. Great on pavement and good on dirt roads but zero lateral traction on grass or mud. I took them off at a little over 6000 miles and there's still some tread depth but the front got low-speed wiggles after 4500 or so. They look good. Good rubber. Well made.

Poor Tread Life for a Touring Tire
These tires came stock on my Tiger Explorer 1200. They were already showing signs of squaring off in the rear and some odd/lumpy wear patterns on the front at about 5K. I finally replaced them about 6.5K.
At highway speeds they would make an annoying waah waah waah and become pretty vibey due to the wear.
From other reviews, they seem to last OK on some other bikes, but I wouldn't purchase them again for mine.
