Nothing like a new pair of kicks...
Had to get a new tire for the rear of 1150gs.. Mech. couldn't resist says this was great tire. 1500 miles and I have nothing but confidence in it.

Shipping was superfast, and as always rezilla has the best prices.

Being honest with myself, going with 95% - 5% was right choice. While I wish for off the beaten track rides, I commute on my bike as much as possible.

great street biased tires
These are often the stock tires on the BMW GS bikes...I have had them on two models of BMWs and they have served me well. Would I prefer a slightly more aggressive tire that was a little better off road? - Yes! However, if you drop your tire pressure once you leave the pavement and watch your speed on the corners, these tires will serve you surprisingly well. I think wet mud and tree roots would be scary with them, unless you had the bike handling skills of a Dakar rider. However, for a city rider in Vancouver BC the Tourance is a dependable wet weather commuter tire.

They came stock on my 13 GS Sertao. Great on pavement and good on dirt roads but zero lateral traction on grass or mud. I took them off at a little over 6000 miles and there's still some tread depth but the front got low-speed wiggles after 4500 or so. They look good. Good rubber. Well made.

Short life for a touring tire.
The EXPs came stock on my Super Tenere. Grip is very good, I have no trouble in any condition and am comfortable scraping the pegs on road. On dirt roads I had no issue on dry surfaces.

Problem is I was also as confident on the standard Tourances which lasted at least 50%+ longer than the EXPs. Tires were pretty worn by 6k miles and hydroplaned a lot in their worn condition. Tread is completely gone at 7k in the center but pushed it against my better judgement to 8k while on a 2k mile trip. Frankly they were scary past 7k miles, following every road groove. For comparison the standard Tourances and the Pirelli Scorpion Trails lasted for 12k+ without the handling issues. The Pirellis were not so good off road but the standard Tourances were great everywhere except mud.

METZLER TOURANCE BMW GSA
I have 12,000 on matching EXP tires. 9 K on the highway. There's still 3 to 4 K remaining on the rear. Very little rain use. Not a worry with this tire for your BMW GS.

Very happy with this tire. Would definitely buy it again!
Well, after a couple seasons of faithful service, my Metzler Road TecZ6 lost the ability to hold air. No fault of Metzler's, just a nail, which I had plugged successfully for a little while......
Nothing lasts forever though, especially tires.

I found this tire online and it seemed to be a good fit for my V-Strom.
I have to say I couldn't be happier with the ride and the quality.

A great tire on my 09 1200GSA
This tire performs great everywhere I have taken it. I am too scared to take it in heavy sand we have in Southwest FL, I do not think it is aggressive enough for that given the bike's weight. On the street, it can't be beat. Makes that big dirt bike run with the sport bikes.

Poor Tread Life for a Touring Tire
These tires came stock on my Tiger Explorer 1200. They were already showing signs of squaring off in the rear and some odd/lumpy wear patterns on the front at about 5K. I finally replaced them about 6.5K.

At highway speeds they would make an annoying waah waah waah and become pretty vibey due to the wear.

From other reviews, they seem to last OK on some other bikes, but I wouldn't purchase them again for mine.

good all round tires
This is my 3rd set, I got over 10k miles out of my previous ones. The rear tire had still plenty tread left, but I replaced it together with the fron tire. Good tire for all round use. Work well in the rain and also on packed dirt roads. Not an off road tire.

10k Miles and probably would have gotten 20k!
These came stock on my 650gs and they were great for the road. I commute on my bike every day and at 10k miles I got a screw in the rear tire and decided to get some TKC80's. I wasn't even close to the wear bars. I would have gotten 13k miles out of them for sure if not 20k miles.

They were amazing on the road and I even took them to the track once. I look them off-road on some gnarly fire roads and they did the job but they didn't give me much confidence.

For a 95/5 tire they are amazing. I am super happy with how long they lasted.

I loved the feel and performance of the stock tires that came with my ST10, and I rode on them for 15k miles. I know this is not a super performance bike, but that's twice the mileage I'm use to. I'll continue to use these until I put on crash bars and start doing a lot more in the dirt.

What does the "C-Spec" on some of the sizes mean?
A shopper on May 14, 2014
BEST ANSWER: If you see a letter and number combo listed after a tire size, that is a tire ‘service description’. Like '67H', for example. Service descriptions all have a load and speed index, which are easily converted from a number of commonly available tables. There is also additional, optional information which can vary from manufacturer to manufacturer. It’s sometimes information that the tire producer gives to further clarify what the tire belongs on, or what job the tire was designed to do.. Often, a letter will indicate a reinforced tire for greater carrying capacity, or slightly different tread designed specifically for a model of motorcycle. Michelin Pilot Road 3s are a good current example of this – the ‘B’ service description denotes a tire with extra sidewall stiffeners added.
